Week 27 info:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
We had a doctor's appointment today. I didn't do the glucose test today, but need to go in early next week to do it. Baby Goose was moving around a lot today so we were able to hear her movements along with the heartbeat. The doctor thought she might have had the hiccups, too. We're now at the stage where we go to the doctor every 2 weeks instead of every 4 weeks. It is hard to believe there is only 13 weeks left! Here is a picture that was taken of us last weekend at a family friend's wedding. Just thought I'd post it for those who don't see us very often to see the baby bump- though I'm wearing a black dress that is slimming...haha. Not really! We actually have 2 more weddings to go to in the next couple of weeks. It will be a busy fall.
I'm almost back to normal- still stuff in my nose but it is livable. I'm glad to have the weekend to relax a little!
