S.B. Day 6

Entitled: Crabby at the Condo and a Walk to the Park

Cal has become my little cling-on. I can barely go to the bathroom without a little freak-out session. I guess that is what spending so much time with Mommy on Spring Break does to a kid! I (of course) kinda love it because I get extra snuggles. I just feel bad for everyone else...

Anyway, she still managed to have fun with MorMor despite a little whiny attitude:

When we got home we went to our park for the first time this season. When I put her in the swing I couldn't believe that the big kid swinging belonged to me!

S.B. Day 5

Day 5??? Why is it flying by so fast? Oh...because we're running around like crazy people and having fun.

Today's adventure: The Como Park Zoo!

It was fun to be back in my old stompin' grounds (I lived and taught in the area for 2 years at the beginning of my career...)

Anyway! We met family friends Sheri and Anthony there (the other Koch kids had spring break last week)and wandered around to all the animal exhibits, had lunch, and visited the conservatory.
Monkeys! Ooh ooh aah aah!

Coordinated to the giraffe

And after the day at the zoo, Punkin Head took a 2.5 hour nap!!!

S.B. Day 4

We. Are. Busy.

First up: Play-date with Charlie and Harper (and Jenna and Alyssa!)

I reiterate what I said yesterday about photographing toddlers...impossible. Here is the hilarious picture I got of the 3 of them:

Next up: 15-Month Check-Up

Looking at the fish tank before the appointment.
Let's just say that at 15 months, Callie is way harder to control when it comes to allowing the doctor and nurse to do their jobs...there was lots of screaming and flailing limbs, but we both made it.
Her stats: Weight- 22 pds. 6 oz. (41st %ile); Length- 31 in. (65%ile); Head Circumference- 49 cm (holding steady...99%ile).

Lastly: Dinner with Wes (and Mike and Trang!) followed by riding around the Galleria in a double stroller

Before we left on any of our adventures today, I let Callie give Kona her treat (like we usually do), and thought I'd film it because it is cute. Today she had another plan for the treat...yep. You can probably guess where this is going...

Spring Break Day 3

The weekend was busy, and now that we're into the week it continues to stay busy!

Our outing for today: Children's Museum with Kylie, Calvin, Jenna and Charlie! Taking good pictures of toddlers is increasingly difficult since they don't want to stay still and smile when there are so many fun things to do and see. But here are a few that I was able to get:

Playing with Charlie
Hanging out with chickens
A still second
Drink break
We Love Water!

After almost 2 hours, all of the kiddos were tapped out. And I don't know about the other two, but Callie fell asleep on the way home...despite my best efforts of singing really loudly in the car.

Uh oh.

We've learned from experience that sleeping on the way home means she gets just enough of a rest to make her think she doesn't need any MORE sleep.

But (though it took over an hour) I DID win the nap battle!

Spring Break!

Spring Break finally started yesterday at around 3:15 when I arrived back in the cities after a 2-day conference in Mankato...I am just so excited to have a lot of time off to spend with little Punkin Head. :)

Both of my sisters are in town this weekend! Last night we went over to the condo for dinner with my family and our lovely family friends, the Suurmeyers (a few of them!). We celebrated the March 19th birthdays as well...they look thrilled to be sharing a birthday yet another year.

Then today we headed back to the condo to throw Jill a bridal shower. It was a fun and busy day. Callie must be teething because she refused all food except (surprise surprise) fruit, and took 3 naps! But she looked ADORABLE in a new outfit that Auntie Laura gave her for her baptism anniversary.

Yesterday we got a fun delivery in the mail- a new "reading chair" for Callie! I ordered it last week after getting a tip from a fellow Mommy friend that it was on sale at Pottery Barn Kids! It is so cute!

And finally, a funny little video, since I haven't posted one in awhile:

3rd Cousins

Tonight we went over to Andy and Beth's house and met little Donald! He is doing great and was as cute as can be!!

As many of you know, Callie has a quilt that has made quite a few appearances in pictures. Currently it is the "Dancing Quilt". My Aunt Jenny made it, and gave Mary the extra fabric she had for it. So Mary had the fun idea to make a "Cousins Quilt" for little Donald. So we did and were able to give it to them tonight! Here is a picture Callie and the two quilts:

15 Months Old Mini-Me!!!

On this crazy rainy day, Callie Joy is 15 months old. Here are some recent pictures.

Over the weekend my parents pulled out a photo album from when I was her age. My Dad scanned them for me and I thought it would be fun to do a little comparison. Let's just say you can tell we're related:

1st Baptism Anniversary! And...March Madness

Today marks one year since Callie was baptized!

Today we got a card from our church that said:
"Child of God...you are loved by your family in Christ. God's promise to you in baptism is sure: He will never forget that you are his child. HAPPY BAPTISM DAY!"

I pulled out her baptism candle to commemorate the day. She had fun flailing it around!
I feel so blessed and thankful every single minute of every single day to be the Mommy of such a special girl.

And onto March Madness. I'm not a huge college basketball fan (okay, not at all!) but I now live with 2 sports fans, plus a budding sports fan as you can see from this picture.

Here is Callie answering the question "Where is the basketball game?"

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a fun and busy weekend filled with friends and family.

Saturday:
*I ran a 7K race with my friend Alison, which (coincidentally), happened to be in the condo neighborhood!
*Great-Grandma Henderson came to the condo for the afternoon and we celebrated her and Chris' birthdays. She had fun watching Callie walk all over the place!
*We went out to dinner to celebrate Chris and Dan's birthday with a small group of college friends, and then came back to our house to have brownie sundaes and hang out. Since there are now 2 little ladies that have joined our Blue Crew, most of the picture taking was of them.
Callie and Sydney!
Auntie Cathleen had fun with two babies!
Callie had fun playing with Sydney's Daddy!
And the birthday boy I'm married to made getting a cute picture of us together rather difficuly, but I was insistent. For your enjoyment, here are the attempts:

Sunday:
*Bathtime! Maybe there is still a chance for curly hair?
*Play date with the Jenna, Andy and Charlie! It is not so easy to get pictures of the babies together anymore when they are both all over the place! So here are the best shots I got:
*And now we get to spend the rest of the day relaxing.

One more week until spring break!
