10 Things in 10 Weeks of Summer

Ok. For my summer wrap-up I decided to limit myself to 10 pictures to summarize the 10 weeks of the summer of 2017. So here we go, in no particular order (until the last few):

1) Running

I trained hard for most of the summer. I raced a variety of distances, culminating in a half marathon.  It was great and awful all at the same time!

2) Baby Lucy

We were lucky enough to spend lots of quality time with Lucy this summer! I'm going to miss seeing her so often.

3) Swimming

The girls turned into fish this summer! They loved swimming lessons and any other times that they got to be in a pool or lake!

4) Our front yard

We spent a lot of time playing in our front yard. I'm grateful for a quiet street and understanding neighbors.

5) Larsmont

We had an amazing vacation up north that Callie mourned the ending of for many weeks after with lots of tears. It is so special to have such fun and quality time with family.

6) Sunrise

I'm an early riser and my rising has gotten earlier as I have gotten older. I have grown to love the beautiful early morning sky.

7) Quiet time

I strictly enforced having quiet time when we were at home in the afternoons, and many times they would end up together despite starting in their own rooms. As long as there was no screaming, it was fine with me!

8) The three of them

There where days when I was spent by the time Chris got home. He was always up for giving me a break and taking them out to dinner and other fun activities so I could have some peace and quiet at home.

9) The two of us

We didn't get a whole lot of one-on-one time this summer, but managed a few date nights that I'm grateful for. We also celebrated our 12th anniversary.

10) The three of us

I spent a LOT of time with my girls this summer and it was at times extremely excellent and at times fairly frustrating. But we made it. And I'm going to miss it.

So there you have it. There was so much more to summer 2017, but the highlight reel is complete.

Well, maybe one more. This might be my favorite pic of all because it shows how joyful and bright a summer of love, family, friends and gratitude can be.
