Weekend Wrap-Up

And just like that, spring break is over. It went so fast!

We had a fun weekend. As I said on my last blog, the girls had a sleepover with G-ma and Pa on Friday night. They had fun swimming at the Y and playing.

And Chris and I got out for a dinner date. The restaurant we went to was right by a hotel that was hosting an Anime convention. The restaurant had huge windows and we watched a constant stream of people in crazy costumes walking by. Chris started out facing me and not the window trying to stealthily look in his phone. But then he ended up sitting next to me so we could both people watch easily.

On Saturday we met Hanna and Shambles for a walk at Centennial Lakes.

Sydney and Kylie slept over at our house on Saturday night. We went to the park and then had popsicles after dinner!

Chris had all girls on his own this morning because I had my 3rd race! It was just a 5K on the U campus that ended up on the football field. I finished in 28:41 and feel pretty good about that. It is a few minutes faster than my January 5K, but it was definitely a less hilly course.

After the race I walked back to my mom's, and the we walked to the grocery store, so I was over 17,000 steps by 10:30am.

Then, we got to go see the baby!! (Well, Maya stayed with Boom because she has a cold).

Lucy was wearing one of Maya's old onesies, so I had to find a picture with her wearing it and do a side-by-side!

Can you tell who is who?!?

Tonight we had some fun with Snapchat.

And Chris got Callie quasi- interested in watching the Masters.

My favorite Callie quotes:
"I could putt better than him!"
-and-
"Why are you forcing me to watch?"
-and-
"I can't snuggle with you because I want to watch the end. Dad won't tell me who wins unless I watch."

He hasn't quite convinced her that golf is her future... but he is clearly making progress.

And then Sergio Garcia won on a playoff hole and I got my snuggle time.

Back to reality for me tomorrow, while Callie now starts spring break!

A Picture Update

Wow! What a week! This has been a busy and exciting spring break.

MONDAY

Maya and I ran errands, met Boom for lunch, and played outside.

TUESDAY

I went to preschool for the morning to celebrate Maya's (July) birthday. I was supposed to go on her half birthday in January, but that was when she was constantly sick so I never made it. It was a fun morning and she was so stinking adorable.

On Tuesday evening we did our first BBQ and had corn-on-the-cob for Bops.

WEDNESDAY

Maya and I went to an indoor play Place and then brought Auntie Yoda and Boom lunch. Little did we know she would have her baby 10 hours later!!

Baby Lucy was born! I'll post this picture again, because it is so cute.

THURSDAY

Maya and I kept ourselves busy before going to the hospital. She had her first dentist appointment!

We went to the library, the nature center and then a park.

And then she fell asleep in the car, and stayed asleep when I took her out of the car, so I took advantage of the situation and held my big preschooler for over an hour while she kept napping.

And then we went to see Baby Lucy. I'll post this picture again, because I love the cousins.

FRIDAY

Both girls had school today. I did some work and got a hair cut. And tonight they are sleeping over at G-ma and Pa's house, so Chris and I may actually get out on a date!

Have a great weekend.

Baby Lucy!!!

You guys!!! I'm an AUNTIE!!!!

Lucy Allyn was born at 9:36pm last night. She came into the world fast and furious and is so stinking cute. We were sent this picture last night about 9:50pm, after getting a text at 7:30pm that they were heading to the hospital.

We expected not to hear anything until like 3am! It was so exciting to hear she was born just a couple hours later.

And then we got this picture about 6:30am this morning and just about melted.

I mean. C'mon. With those baby cheeks. She is 8 lbs. 13 oz and 21.5 inches of adorable.

We got to go see her this evening. Maya was ALL about holding the baby. Callie was apprehensive at first, but eventually warmed up and held her.

The rest of us had to fight Maya off to get a chance to hold Baby Lucy.

And then we got a cousins picture.

And a Boom with her granddaughters picture.

Eeeeeeeeeek! I can't handle the sweetness. Here are some more pics:

OMG those cheeks.

Anyway, I'll end with a side-by-side of three Henderson sister babies, because that's what I do.

And because baby cheeks are THE BEST.

Congrats to Laura and Craig! We are so excited for this new little one to be apart of our family.

Timehop Tuesday

No baby yet!

As for my Timehops, I love seeing Callie's baby pictures and her chunky baby face:

Maya is my good eater, and always has been.

And lastly, I don't have a Timehop, but something I found on the internet that is an accurate representation of my children right now (with "Grandma" meaning all grandparents...and other family members...and all other people in general).

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey all! This weekend was nice. Pretty chill. The girls and I spent some time outside on Saturday morning and I got a decent selfie.

We went to hang out with Boom and Auntie Yoda (no baby yet!). The girls just played and hung out with the belly.

On Saturday night Cal still wasn't temperature-free, so she and I stayed home and colored.

Chris and Maya went out to eat to celebrate our friend Nate's birthday. Maya got to hang with her buddies Caleb and Adelay.

After bedtime I continued on my coloring streak for almost 4 more hours! It was relaxing and I binge-listened to the 2nd half of the S-Town Podcast. So good. Also the NPR Politics Podcast. I am so cool.

Today we didn't do much besides go see "Boss Baby" and play with Snapchat.

My hope for this spring break is to get some baby cuddles, but if she wants to hang out in the womb for longer than we'd all like her to, I'll get some pretty solid 3-year-old cuddles too. And probably some 7-year-old sass.

Have a great week.

A Picture Update

Guess who's on spring break?

That would be me. I made it.

Guess who isn't an auntie yet?

Me.

Poor Auntie Yoda.

I am slightly delirious and having way too much fun with Snapchat. Anyway.

I went downtown last night to hang with my mom and sisters, and we walked to Izzy's to see if some ice cream could get the little one moving. No luck yet.

In other news, Callie developed a fever last night and still had  one throughout the day today, so she got to hang out at work with me this morning (no students, it was a teacher work day). After the Tylenol kicked in she felt fine and wandered around my classroom (in her PJs) eating an apple.

I worked from home this afternoon and she took it easy on the couch. Hopefully it is a quick little bug.

Speaking of Cal, we got her spring pictures. So cute.

As for Maya, she had a fun week! Monday was with Boom, as usual.

And Wednesday and Thursday with G-ma and Pa.

Auntie Cat called on FaceTime this week, and Maya totally commandeered the phone. As they were chatting I had to get a picture, but obviously couldn't since she had my phone! So I used the (super old) iPad and got a (terrible quality) picture.

When it was nice earlier this week, we got outside and went to the library.

And lastly, a series of pictures I got when trying to take a nice selfie with the girls.

There was not a good picture in the bunch. I guess that will be one of my spring break goals.

Have a great weekend. I can't BELIEVE it is April tomorrow.
