Favorite-Things-Phone-Dump Friday

Happy happy happy happy Friday!

It has been quite the week.  Poor Callie had a 24-hour stomach bug that started very early Tuesday morning.  She bounced back fine and no one else got it (*knock on wood!*), but it just kind of threw everything off all week.

Maya, as you'll see in pictures, continues to spend time on her tummy.  She now can scootch her way backwards or in a little circle.  She will get up high on her hands, or get up on her knees, but rarely both at the same time.  But she'll figure it out.  And if she doesn't, oh well.  I have been told that I skipped the crawling stage all together and went straight for walking.

My first favorite thing is a video of Callie explaining (um...sort of?) the life cycle of a butterfly.  They are learning the life cycle in preschool with real live caterpillars, and on Monday she came home with an art project that explained everything.  It is adorable and I could seriously watch it 17 times in a row.

Favorite Thing #1:

Yep, she used the word chrysalis.  I have no idea if I even spelled that right.

My next favorite thing is also a video- Maya is learning to wave and it is adorable.  You'll also see her almost lose it because she realized that she is sitting down and I am not, in fact, holding her as I obviously should be doing AT ALL TIMES.

So if you see her some time soon, wave at her and see what happens.  She is getting pretty good at responding with a wave back.

On to the pictures...

Favorite Thing #3: The week's childcare pictures.  Such lucky girls.

Favorite Thing #4: The exciting Lynx event that I already blogged about but
had to put in again because...MAYA MOORE!  HOLDING OUR BABY!

Favorite Thing #5: It was sad that Callie
was sick, but it definitely gave us some extra
cuddle time than we would have gotten otherwise.
Favorite Thing #6: This girl is HILARIOUS.  And working on liking her
tummy time.  And thoroughly enjoying her vegetables.

Favorite Thing #7: The big one felt much better on Wednesday!

Favorite Thing #8: There was sunshine on Wednesday!
Favorite Thing #9: Playing with George and Isaac at
G-ma and G-pa's house.  And a nap in the car beforehand.

Favorite Thing #10: Morning cuddles- my favorite time of day.
Have a great weekend!

Happy Thursday!

Our first throwback features the babies on their tummies working on crawling.

Different house, same mess.

Then we have some baby bjorn action.

It's serious business being a kangaroo baby.
And then sunshine and hats.

Babies can rock any size or style of hat.
And finally, babies in the walker at Boom and Bops' house.

Watch out for crazy drivers!

That Time That Maya Leigh Met Maya Moore

It was already over six months ago that the MN Lynx earned back the title of WNBA Champs.

The new season starts on Sunday, and we are all super excited.

Tonight Chris, Maya, and my parents went to a fundraising event the Lynx were throwing at a restaurant not too far from us (Callie and I were supposed to go, but alas she has been puking all day.  That's another story).

They Lynx were all assigned different parts of the restaurant, and unfortunately they were seated at a table that was manned by an unknown rookie (who also didn't speak much English).

But my husband, knowing full well I expected pictures of our favorite ladies (one favorite in particular), saved the day.

I mean, who can resist this face?

He went on a mission to find Maya Moore.

Mission Accomplished.
Not only did he find her, but she HELD our Maya for a few minutes!

Here she is again (with Seimone Augustus in the background!)

Can't wait to see what the Lynx have in store for us this summer!

Happy (Belated) Birthday Pa!

Darn it!  I'm 5 hours late (yes, I'm wide awake at 5am).

Yesterday was Pa's birthday, but Chris was using the laptop during my usual blogging time, so I missed doing my post.

Anyway, we hope you had a great birthday Pa!!!

Thank you for all you do for us!

Weekend Wrap-Up: The Mother's Day Edition

Happy Sunday!

There are a few things to celebrate today.  First up, it is Papa's birthday!  Happy Birthday Papa!!!!!  Hope it was a great one.

Next up- HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!  We are so lucky to have so many amazing mothers and grandmothers in our lives- Nana (pictured above), Gi-Gi, Grammy, Boom, and G-ma.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!  WE LOVE YOU!!!
And then there is me.  I'm a mother too.  And my little ones are...something special, as you can see...

Hahahahahahahahaha.  My girls are SO photogenic.
Just kidding.  I had to giggle that the one time I tried to get a cute picture with them (that was not a selfie), THIS happened.

Anyway, we had a ridiculously good weekend.

Saturday Highlights:

Out for a run at 6:15am on Saturday morning.  It was beautiful.  And foggy.

Playing around at home with my sweet girls.
Callie doing "nastics."
Hanging out outside and the 4-year-old became the photographer.
All these shots were taken by Callie- including her winter boot in the upper
left corner.  And the selfie.

We took a trip to the flower store to get some pretty things to fill the
pots in front of our house.

We went to a BBQ at the Wicks' and there were 5 little
girls playing.
Sunday Highlights:

Chris had to leave at 5am to work the "Race for the Cure."  I was awoken
at 7am sharp and given my mother's day present- a sweet tile with frogs on it
made at preschool.

The girls and I spent the morning playing at home, and then taking a trip
to Starbucks and Trader Joe's.

We spent the afternoon bowling with G-ma, Pa, Uncle Dan, Hanna, and Auntie Cat.
Callie LOVED it.  Hooray for bumpers!

It was fun to all be together!
The only thing that would have made this day better would have been actually seeing my mom, but we had conflicting schedules today!  I'm thankful that she lives close and we get to see her (and the rest of my family) regularly.  The girls are pretty lucky to have all the grandparents, aunts and uncles in the same "town"!

As for my running- my goal this week was 9 miles, and I did 9.75 running and 2 more walking.  I tracked my calories pretty religiously (except yesterday- it was my cheat day) and because of my efforts lost about 2 pounds this week.  Whoop whoop!

My mileage goal for this week is 12 miles.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Favorite-Things-Phone-Dump Friday

Happy Weekend!!!!!

I have typed and erased a couple different intro paragraphs for this post.  I got nothing.

It is Friday and I am thankful for that.  I'll let the pictures fill in the details of what the girls have been up to...

Favorite Thing #1: Monday
*Meeting Elvis the Blue Cow at Lunds with Boom
*Playing in the sunshine
*Eating broccoli
*Drawing on my Grandpa's old chalkboard

Favorite Thing #2: Getting this picture emailed to me
from Mrs. Lori because Callie wanted me to see her fancy outfit.
Favorite Thing #3: Walking our crazy dog.  In jammies.
And winter boots.

Favorite Thing #4: Getting these pictures at work from Pa:
A sweet face, bulging arm rolls, and a sleepy baby.

Favorite Thing #5: Setting up our new basketball hoop!
Favorite Thing #6: Playing at home and at G-ma's.
Baby much prefers sitting up than laying on her tummy.
She pretty much refuses to even entertain the idea of crawling.

Favorite Thing #7: Celebrating Mother's Day a few days early at the
Listen to Your Mother show.  It showcased 12 local writer/bloggers reading original
pieces about motherhood.  Some were funny, some were heartbreaking, but all were
powerful.

Favorite Thing #8: Friday morning cuddles and smiles from Boom's house

Favorite Thing #9: Teacher Appreciation Week
I picked the wrong week to start my diet/exercise plan.  Every day I had walk
by the table on the left multiple times a day (our students' parents are AMAZING and brought
a ton of food for us every day).  But I stayed strong and just taste tested
a couple of little things each day.

Favorite Thing #10: Friday dinner: avocado, black beans, most some of my enchilada,
etc.  The girl can pound it down.  Anything and everything.
Favorite Thing #11: Enjoying the crisp spring air with G-ma and G-pa at
a place I'd never been to, right in our neighborhood.

Favorite Thing #12: A beautiful evening for a walk

Favorite Thing #13: Ending the walk with some swinging

Have a great weekend!

Happy Thundery Thursday!

In honor of Mother's Day coming up on Sunday, here I am with my scrunchy faced babies.

The other throwbacks are of puzzled babies sitting and happy babies reading puppy books.
