Golf

Daddy is VERY excited about the upcoming (impending?) golf season. And this weekend, he is excited about watching The Masters.

So, to help Daddy cheer on the golfers, our "Future Big Hitter" wore the golf shirt she got for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa.

Oh, and in case you're wondering how the road to sleepies is going tonight: Chris is putting her to bed, I have the monitor on, and I hear her laughing. Presumably in his face, while he is saying "Time for sleepies."

Oh, and another thing. I pulled a Big Dave today. Spring is in the air and spring clothes are on the shelves. I. Can't. Resist. The. Cuteness.

Happy Anniversay to Nana and Papa!

Today is a very special day. Chris' grandparents (Nana and Papa) are celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary!!! Congrats!

And now, a glimpse into our evenings lately:

It may be obnoxious to others, but we call naps and bedtime sleepies. As in, "Callie, are you ready for sleepies?" or (when she's supposed to be sleeping but is instead standing up in her crib and laughing in our faces) "No, it is time for sleepies."

Tonight it was just Cal and me at home for the road to sleepies, so I thought I'd take a few snippets of video to showcase the journey. If you have a few minutes,

7:07 (T-Minus 53 minutes until sleepies)

7:10 (T-Minus 50 minutes until sleepies)

Tonight Part 2 from Baby Goose on Vimeo.

7:54 (T-Minus 6 minutes until sleepies)

Tonight Pt 3 from Baby Goose on Vimeo.

When 8:00 rolled away, there was NO sign of tiredness. No eye rubs. No passy/blankie searches. So playing continued.

8:11 (11 Minutes AFTER usual sleepies)

Tonight Pt. 4 from Baby Goose on Vimeo.

Shortly after the last video, my Mommy stubbornness kicked in and I put her to bed.

She had other plans.

9:01 (1 hour, 1 minute AFTER usual sleepies)

9:17- Silence. I win.

Jogging, etc.

I'm 25 days away from a half marathon, and my runs don't seem to be getting any easier or more fun. So I thought I'd try something different this afternoon for cross-training: a 2-mile run pushing a 23-pounder in the jogging stroller. I mean, after doing that, a regular old 5-mile run should feel like a breeze, right? That is what I'm telling myself and I sincerely hope it is true come tomorrow afternoon.

Anyway, we did it. It made me tired and made Cal raring to get out and walk,
which she did as soon as I let her out of the stroller. Up and down the sidewalk. Up and down. Up and down. Up and down. I'm just thankful that it is actually nice enough outside to let her do it.

On to vegetable news: she ate something green for dinner- romaine lettuce! Apparently caesar salad is her new fave. She pounded it down, along with chicken with marinara sauce and noodles. It was good to see since she's been eating like a bird the past few weeks.

And lastly, just for fun...look at this face. Melt my heart.

S.B. Last Day

Today was a different kind of day for the end of spring break. Callie got to spend time with her Daddy and his side of the family, while I headed to Luther to watch Mari perform a trombone recital. I took the camera, so Chris relied on his cell phone to provide some pics of their day:

At Underwater World (Jenna, Andy and Charlie were there too!)

And my day- Mari's Recital:

And I was able to take a little video of her being accompanied by a 15-member trombone choir!

It is really amazing how fast 9 days can go. In 8 hours my alarm will go off and I'll be back to reality. I thoroughly enjoyed my stint as a stay-at-home-mom and, as I mentioned a few days ago, am ANXIOUSLY awaiting summer vacation. But until then, I will enjoy going back to work, and will continue to feel so blessed in all areas of my life.

Happy Spring!

S.B. Day 8

If the rest of the week was about hanging out with Callie's boy-friends, today was about seeing her girl-friends! But first we headed to the Macy's flower show with my parents.

Later in the afternoon we met Ciri and her mommy Casey at the park for a play-date to spend some time outside on this beautiful day!

Then later this evening the Wicks family came over so Callie got to see her buddy Sydney!

It was fun to see the differences between Callie and Ciri (2-years-old) to see what we have to look forward to, and also to see the differences between Callie and Sydney (4-months-old) to see where we've been!

S.B. Day 7

We have a toddler battling another cold. Must be the change of season (hopefully spring is here, right?!?!?) because I feel something coming on too.

Today's activities: Lunch with Grandpa and Visiting Grandma at Work!

We were hoping to see Auntie Cathleen too, but she wasn't feeling very well and didn't want to spread any of her germs to Punkin.

The Twins season has started so we're lying low tonight watching the game. Spring break is rapidly coming to a close and it is leaving me anxiously awaiting summertime.
