Our weekend didn't have many definite plans. So we did a few spur of the moment outings because when we are home too much the girls get crazy. Looney tunes. And screamy.
On Friday night my mom and sisters and I had our monthly GNO- we went out to dinner and to an orchestra concert. The orchestra played Saint Saens' "Bacchanale", one of my favorite pieces I ever played in high school. I played the cymbals and was instructed by my orchestra conductor to play them so vigorously that my hair would fly around. Needless to say, it was fun to hear the piece played by an actual (and fantastic) orchestra.
On Saturday morning, Chris headed out for golfing with Uncle Craigles. G-ma and Pa picked up the girls and brought them to the beach for a couple of hours of fun in the sun. They tried really hard to catch a fish in the little net, but didn't have luck this time around.
While they were gone, Auntie Cat come over and we cooked a Blue Apron meal. It was Brown Butter Gnocchi and it was AMAZING. My friend Bethany (who had helped me cook a meal when they were in town last weekend) sent me some awesome new cooking implements, including this fantastic chopper you see me using. I'm really enjoying this cooking thing- and Blue Apron makes it pretty easy to make delicious meals.
After Maya's nap we decided to head out for dinner and do an impromptu paddle boat ride. Then we had crazy time on the bed while streaming the Lynx game. The picture makes us all look like we were laying down and calm. That was only true for the 50% of us that are adults. The 50% of us that are children were ALL OVER THE PLACE for the half hour we let them stay up past their bedtime to "watch the game." But it was fun family time and I cherish it.
This morning we went to Edinborough for a bit. Because, crazy children.
Chris took Callie to a movie during nap time (which has become a tradition for them every few weeks), and I took an awesome nap.
Auntie Mari came over to babysit tonight so we could go out to eat with our friends Jill and Paul.
