Best. Game. Ever.

I know that my usual Sunday post is the wrap-up, and I'll still do that tonight, but I had to do a separate post for this.

We have spent hours today playing a new game we made up.

It is pretty awesome.  I call it Sleepytime for a Naughty Napper

Players: 2 adults, at least one toddler, and a sleepy but naughty stuffed animal
*Toddler: the enraptured baby monitor listener (aka Callie)
*Stuffed animal: the naughty napper (aka Tiny Bear)
*Adult 1: the football watcher toddler supervisor (aka Daddy)
*Adult 2: the lunch maker/stair runner (in order to be Tiny Bear's-voice...aka Mommy)

Rules***
*Toddler puts naughty napper to sleep in her bed
*Toddler goes down to the basement and turns on monitor.  Quietly listens for naughty napper to be naughty while Adult 1 watches football supervises
*Adult 2 stays in the kitchen "making lunch," but quickly sprints up the stairs to toddler's bedroom
*Adult 2 pretends to be naughty napper by singing and talking into the monitor (songs such as Call Me, Maybe, Party Rock, Jesus Loves Me, ABCs, etc.) and dressing up naughty napper (in things such as a Lynx shirt, socks, undies, necklaces, etc.)
*Adult 2 then sprints downstairs to make sure she's in the kitchen before toddler comes up to "check on" the naughty napper
*Toddler runs upstairs proclaiming "Tiny Bear sang Call Me, Maybe!!!!! I want to see what she is wearing!!!!"
*Adult 2 feigns amazement and continues to make lunch
*Toddler comes back down saying, "Tiny Bear is still tired but he's going to wake up and sing the ABCs I think."
*Adult 2 now has song idea for next round

***Repeat.  Like 75 times.  Adult 2 and toddler get a lot of exercise running up and down the stairs.  Adult 1 continues watching football supervising.

  1. Soooooo, does this game give the toddler a taste of her own medicine and convince her lie down for nap??

  2. So Chris is a supervisor - sometimes, maybe. But Callie is darling.
