A Picture Update

Well, it has been quite the week.  I didn't take too many pictures, but there was goofy Maya, weird December weather, our pretty tree and WINTER BREAK (for me).

Today was my first day of winter break.  I went on a chilly run and got myself some new shoes.

My plans for the day changed a bit after Callie called me from school around 11am asking to be picked up.  If you have paid attention to the news, you may have heard about a national threat made on social media about violence in school today.  We had gotten an email from the district addressing it and stating that there were no credible threats targeting any schools.  But kids talk (and write scary things on bathroom stalls) and word spreads and she was really nervous and uncomfortable being at school.  So I picked her up and we had a relaxed afternoon at home.  I don't know how to navigate these conversations very well, but I put my special ed teacher training to use and just tried to listen and help her process and validate her feelings while also reminding her that all the adults at school are there to keep her safe. 

Thankfully, we had tickets to the MN Zoo Drive-Thru Light Show, so we did that tonight as a fun family outing.

Timehop Tuesday

Two years ago this past weekend Chris and I were in NYC. It feels like a million years ago. 

In September we got to go back and attend the same show. It was a totally different experience.

What a wild ride the past 2 years has been. I often wonder what the long term effects will be on all of us. 

Weekend Wrap-Up + Happy Birthday Luna!

Luna is 5 today!!! We love our doggie!

We got a heckuva storm on Friday night into Saturday morning. I shoveled once Friday night and again on Saturday and it was so much snow!

But of course we had fun with the new sleds form the elves.

And had some playtime at home…I also attempted hot chocolate bombs! Too putzy for me, but they tasted good.

Then we had MORE snow time.

And we had girls movie night on our bed while Chris played video games with some friends. Any guesses what movie we watched/performed?


This morning we had some chill time, and then the girls went  out back to spend more time in the snow. 

Maya had gymnastics and now we are allowed to go in and watch. It was so fun to see her in that setting. She so clearly loves it!

Then we had a Gosselin girls swimming and sauna party!

A Picture Update + Happy Birthday Auntie Mari!

First up: HAPPY BIRTHDAY Auntie Mari!!! We hope you have an awesome day. Here’s a fun throwback…one of them looks pretty much the same, and the other has changed a bit!

We had a busy week, as usual. Callie had her first band concert on Tuesday!

If you’d like a taste of the concert, click here!  She is one of the two blonde heads directly to the right of the conductors’s shoulder.

Maya’s school picture day was delayed until mid-November, so it took until this past week to have both girls’ school pictures to post.

The other big thing from the week…SNOW! 

The girls had a 2 hour early release today, and Pa came over so they made the gingerbread/Oreo houses we got!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!  We had a busy weekend and I feel like I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.

Saturday morning's sunrise colors did not disappoint on my 7am run!

We spent a big chunk of the day over at Boom's house because she had Lucy and Mila staying over there for the weekend.  It was a busy day of playing and watching Annie Live! Maya spent pretty much the whole day with a fever of 100.5 to 101.5 (vaccine #2 was Friday!), but she still had fun and perked up every once in awhile.

There was even a popcorn party! 

When we got home, Chris and I ordered our fave Indian food, Maya felt better, we made some cookies and I had an exciting Saturday night.

We woke up to snow this morning!  Luna had fun playing around in it.

Then I spent pretty much the whole morning making a variety of Christmas treats.  Cal helped some, but mostly just wanted to eat them all and hang with Luna. :)

This afternoon we met up with G-ma, Pa, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell, Isla and Auntie Cat to cut down our Christmas tree!

Since Chris still can't really do anything that requires effort, Pa helped us actually cut it down.

Hanna got me a new tripod/selfie stick for my phone (since I'm the family photographer) so we put it to use for the first time to get this family shot...and it was so nice not having to balance my phone on a rock or a tree stump or something!  Maya was excited because it came with a remote to take the picture, so she held the remote and said "1, 2 3 SMILE" and pushed the button to take the picture.  It turned out pretty great!

We hung out back at Dan and Hanna's house for some playtime and snacks.

And then when we got home, Cal and I (with some ornament help from Maya) got the tree in and set up!

Now it really feels like Christmas time.

A Picture Update

This week has felt chaotic and busy and I’m so tired. A lot has been going on the past few weeks with Chris’ surgery and recovery and Thanksgiving…and I think it is all catching up to me a bit. And Callie’s musical rehearsals started, which  is so fun for her, but it also means she and I get home later than normal every day. It’s just a new routine to get used to, but it is kicking my butt right now! By the time I get home every day it feels like I have zero capacity for intelligent thoughts, ideas or words of any kind. 

So these are the only pics I have from the week…

Except, of course, it is a few days in the December and you know what that means?????!!!!!!!!?!!???!!!

Coo-Koo and Looney are BACK!

And finally, though there is no photo evidence, Im happy to report that as of 4pm today the girls are DOUBLE VAXXED! Woohoo!!!
