A Picture Update: HELLO SUMMER

We are all officially on SUMMER BREAK!  Except Chris, poor guy.  I had school through Thursday, so on Monday and Tuesday Auntie Cat took the girls and they had fun outdoor adventures.

Wednesday was my last day so I got a last-day-of-school pic with my work BFF Taylor, and then the girls and I tried to beat the heat with Luna in the shady front yard.  Water helped.

Later Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla came over and we beat the heat by hanging out down in the basement!

Thursday was my last day (finishing up all the teacher stuff)- the girls came with to my school's graduation, and then we got Chipotle to celebrate the start of summer!

This morning the girls went to Boom's house and I did some cleaning in preparation for getting these two stinkers at 11 for the day and overnight!

Chris came home around 12:30 so he could help with nap time.

After a fun day of fort making and ice cream, Boom brought the girls home this afternoon...

...and we had more fun in the front yard.  Pa came by too!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey everybody!  We had a lovely little (almost, for me) summer weekend.

On Saturday morning I found a couple of weird Callie pics on my phone, and friends came over and brought us donuts before it got too ridiculously hot.

Yesterday afternoon we went over to Boom's house because Auntie Mari and Uncle Josh were in town for the weekend!

And later, we got the sprinkler out in the shade to beat the heat a bit.  After dinner we played in the living room and watched "Into the Woods" (snuggling Luna in a cowgirl costume, of course).  

This morning I was awake before 5am as usual, so I decided to just get up and get going on my 4 mile run.   There was some inspiring sidewalk chalk and lovely sunshine (and my sunshine playlist) along the way.

By 8:45am we were AT THE BEACH!  We stayed for over four hours and it was glorious.

Auntie Hanna, Uncle Dan, Mitchell and Isla joined us too!

The rest of the day was relaxing and staying cool.  And I finally finished one (of three) of my birthday puzzles!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday! It is SO HOT. And has been a busy week! The girls are officially on summer break and I still have FOUR MORE DAYS. I will make it. Maybe barely. 

Anyway, on Tuesday we got DQ to celebrate Bops’ birthday. 

Wednesday morning’s 5:30 run rewarded me with a lovely sky (and random rainbow?), and the girls enjoyed donuts with G-ma and found a big turtle!

Maya got a couple of awards from her teacher and the girls celebrated the end of the year with a hilarious dance party.

Distance Learning is OVER! (and we now have a MIDDLE SCHOOLER)

Today was the girls’ last day of school. They were with Pa for the day and didn’t have anything to actually do for school until later in the afternoon, so Maya made a sign and was so excited.

At 2:00 Callie had 5TH GRADE GRADUATION!!!

And then everyone in the school did a “clap out” for the 5th graders. 

It was a fun and HOT afternoon!

Timehop Tuesday: Happy Birthday Bops!

Today my dad would have been 66. This is one of my favorite pictures to share. 

We had his birthday dinner 10 years ago out on the patio of Town and Country by some practice putting greens. He took Callie to walk around when she was getting restless. He always did that when we were out. He’d just scoop up one girl or the other and take them so we could have a break. 

I’m so grateful for the time they had with him.

Happy birthday Dad! We love you and miss you, and we will definitely celebrate tonight with Dairy Queen!
