Weekend Wrap-Up
Happy Sunday!
We had a pretty quiet weekend. Especially yesterday. We stayed home and did some chores (i.e. LAWN MOWING) and the girls couldn't figure out which kind of wardrobe was appropriate so they went with jackets/sweaters and shorts/sandals.

This morning I made my mom's Apple Crisp recipe. YUM. The girls did some coloring and Luna always needs to be in the middle of the action. Then Callie used her ninja skills to get some gummy bears from the GIGANTIC bag Chris brought home from his Costco run.

We walked up to the park right before lunch. The girls enjoyed the big swing and Chris and I each got stung by a stupid wasp about 5 minutes apart (him at the park, me on the way home) and I think the one that stung me stayed in my hair and came in our house because it ended up above the refrigerator and I had to climb up on the counter a la Ninja Callie and kill it. But the swings were relaxing.

This afternoon we met G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Shambles at a park for Pickleball and grilling. Pickleball was a blast and we will definitely be doing that again soon.

It was a beautiful afternoon for a picnic!

And dessert: s'mores and apple crisp!

The girls had fun climbing the big trees there, too!

A Picture Update: Happy Birthday Boom!
Today is Boom's birthday! Happy Birthday Boom! We love you!
As for the rest of the week, we made it. First week of school is in the books.
And thankfully we have G-ma, Pa, and Boom so willing to help us out Wednesday-Friday each week, making it so we just have to make it through Mondays and Tuesdays from home with all of us. As you will see in this post, THEY. ARE. AMAZING. We are so so so so so lucky. And Auntie Cat has also helped out with the schedule and structure for the days. It takes a village and I’m SO GRATEFUL for ours.
Here we are on Tuesday, the first day of the 20-21 school year!
Maya got to open a present from her teacher. Callie was SO MAD about "recess." And we had different varieties of work spaces (and work-hindering creatures).
Tuesday evening we played outside and inside.
On Wednesday and Thursday the girls headed to G-ma and Pa's house for school. They set up desks for the girls and got so many fun things arranged for their workspaces. Auntie Cat came by for a visit too!
Yesterday morning was CRAZY foggy when I was out for a run.
Today the girls got to spend the WHOLE DAY with Boom on her birthday! Such lucky girls! Boom also got them all set up and situated for school, and she is going to be their weekly music teacher (this week was rhythm sticks and AUNTIE MARI’s TROMBONE!). They also baked her birthday cake today as a project!
Tonight we had a birthday dinner at the condo with the Lindsays! Such a fun evening.
And I’ll leave you with this...the summary of my week:
Have a good weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up
Happy Labor Day!
We had a pretty lazy weekend at home with some fun little outings. On Saturday evening we went over to a BBQ at Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna and Mitchell's house! The girls and Auntie Cat had fun coloring their patio.

On Sunday Callie put together a fierce outfit and Boom came over to watch the Lynx game.

This morning the girls, Luna and I walked/biked to the park. Luna then got no attention at all from anyone ever.

And then Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna and Mitchell came over for lunch!

Tonight is movie night in preparation for the big day tomorrow! Maya also happened to loose another tooth during movie night.

School update: The girls and I will all be doing our first day of school from home tomorrow. My schedule (for the moment) is working from home Mondays and Tuesdays and on campus on Wednesdays-Fridays. The girls will be doing school from home on Mondays and Tuesdays, at G-ma and Pa's on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and at Boom's on Fridays. We are SO LUCKY and the girls are excited to get going (even if they feign reluctance).

Have a great week!

And thanks to G-ma for a new round of masks (and my children for picking out the cupcake and starfish fabric for me)!
Have a great week!

A Picture Update
Happy Friday! This was the last official week of the girls' summer...distance learning for 5th grade and 2nd grade starts on Tuesday! More on that later...here's a few pics of the week:
Tuesday- we had virtual meetings with the girls' teachers! We got a handle on their distance learning schedules and hopefully all will go smoothly next week.
And fun with neighbors and Maya got some 1-on-1 time with G-ma, Pa and Luna! (Oh, and Callie's neighbor boy pal "picked her up" to go to the big soccer field near our house to watch his little brother's soccer game...SO CUTE)
Wednesday- day of fun with G-ma and Pa at a farm!
Chris cooked me two homemade meals this week and (some of) my crabbiness/stress was explained at 5:45am Wednesday morning with the full moon.
Thursday- when I got to work I got a pretty cute message.
And the girls took some random and funny pics of their own.
Friday- a fun morning at Boom's house with Lucy!
And a beautiful evening walk/bike ride.
I spent the week in Zoom meetings and social distanced/masked other meetings learning all about new COVID procedures and it was exhausting and my brain was just mush by 4pm every day.
The girls provided some opportunities for my mush brain to be further extended, by asking smart and tough questions throughout the week. I think I did ok answering them, but I was definitely stretched. Examples include: Mom, how do you know if heaven is really real if you can't see it? (my response: that's what faith is...believing in something even if you can't prove it). Mom, if you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? (my response: my dad). Mom, if God can hear everything on earth, can the people in heaven hear everything on earth? (Chris' response because I was dumbfounded a bit: what do you think?).
I love their questions and I hope they keep asking. My brain is just adjusting to actual stimulation and stress and hopefully I'll be able to continue answer honestly.
And just in case you thought they were just sweet little prophet children, they also have changed the lyrics to Hamilton's "Helpless" song to...well I'll just let you listen:
Yes, that would be "Buttless," in case it was unclear.
Have a great long weekend! I'll be back Monday night for the weekend wrap-up.

Timehop Tuesday
Well guys, this week is kicking my butt and I’m exhausted. So my Timehop for today is cute babies in a flower towel:

Enjoy!

My running definitely dropped off in August, so I need to get back into it. Next step: creating a 2020 chart and GETTING MY BUTT IN GEAR.
Enjoy!
And then unrelated but kind of... I’m bringing back CINCUENTA SEPTEMBER. I have done it a number of times in years past.
