Timehop Tuesday

Well, we are one week into our new fall schedule. Maya has an awful cold and we have to figure out how to make bath time a more regular activity.

Our Timehops today are all related to the first week of fall schedule.

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had quite the busy weekend! First I want to say CONGRATS to my Uncle Larry for finishing his 8th Wisconsin IRONMAN race in Madison today. I was tracking him all day using an app (technology can be so cool!) and just saw him cross the finish line on the live feed!!!

Wooooohoooooooo!!!

On to our weekend. It was pretty busy! Some outside time yesterday morning with Barry was fun.

And both girls had dance class! It was Maya's first one and she looked like she loved it.

We then did some apple picking and sprinkler running which was a weird combo of fall and summer.

And with all the apples we made Boom's apple crisp! Yum!

This morning we spent some more time outside. They like to feel independent and go riding across the street by themselves. And Callie is a little monkey in a tree.

It's Grandparents' Day today! So after Sunday school, we headed to Nana and Papa's place for a little celebration.

Since it is Grandparents' Day, we also headed to the cemetery.

We stopped over to see Lucy, Autie Yoda and Uncle Craigles.

And then headed to the airport to see Boom! She has spent the past 10 days in Russia, and we were able to surprise her at the airport to welcome her home. And round out Grandparents' Day.

There are so many things happening in the country and the world.  I keep focusing on GRATITUDE and taking things one step at a time.  Lots of prayers and love to all the hard things going on out there.

A Picture Update

We made it through the week! I'm so tired, the girls are so tired (but yet have SO much energy- see the video at the end of the post), and Chris volunteered us to dog sit for the night. But Barry is pretty cute so far.

Anyway, week 1 of school was great for Callie. She loves her teacher and has been doing an excellent job being a respectful student. I think she is going to have an awesome year!

I had a crazy first week, but it was pretty good. Just exhausting.

But back to Labor Day: the girls hung out with Auntie Cat, G-ma, Pa, Nana and Papa for a chunk of the day.

Maya fell asleep on the way home and we ended up snuggling in the hammock for awhile.

Laura and Lucy came over for a bit!

After school on Tuesday we just hung out at home and outside.

It was back to our Wednesday and Thursday schedule for G-ma and Pa's house.

And that's all I got. I'll leave you with a video I just took, showcasing 3 things:

1) The girls still have crazy energy after a long week.
2) Our favorite new song "Raining Tacos" that we heard on our favorit kids podcast, "Wow in the World," which I highly recommend.
3) How much the girls love dogs and have me 90% convinced that it is time to get a new dog ourselves (Chris has been 100% convinced of that for awhile).  We shall see!

Have a great weekend.

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had so much fun this weekend!!!!!

I started the weekend going to the state fair with Laura, Craig, and Lucy on Saturday morning. It had been 3 years since I had gone- the fair was something we would do every year as a big family. I hadn't had much interest going the past couple years without my dad. But we went as a small group this year and it was really good. We got all the favorite foods and did the favorite things. We even ran into Emily and Pat, which was absolutely perfect since we also grew up going to the fair with the Johnsons.

The hardest part was the corn, because that was dad's favorite. But we did it and it was so delicious. Lucy "enjoyed" the fair food too!

While I was at the fair, Chris and the girls were getting ready for the afternoon garage sale at G-ma and Pa's house!

I met them there later and it ended up being an impromptu family gathering! Auntie Lynn, Auntie Karen, Nana and Papa all stopped by, much to our surprise and delight. And of course Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Hanna, and Shambles were there too.

The girls were good salespeople (they must get it from their daddy). And we had lots of fun with family. Maya even way overcharged Papa for the donut holes. And I caught the moment we all figured it out on camera- I'll let you guess which picture it is. :)

The girls had fun getting swung by Uncle Dan.

This morning we walked to the park, and stopped for donuts on the way.

We went to the movie "Leap!" over lunch time. It was an adorable animated movie about an aspiring ballerina. See the video later for how it inspired the girls to dance...and there is a random "slo-mo punch" in there too because they thought doing that was HILARIOUS all weekend long.

Anyway. This afternoon Callie and I went to the Lynx game! It took some time to convince her because she has always had a major fear of mascots, and was super worried about Prowl. She told me that when she decided to go to the game, she had been telling herself "FACE YOUR FEAR FOR FUN." She's a wise girl. And ended up having an awesome time. Including giving Prowl a bunch of high fives and getting a free t-shirt (which you will see in the dance video later)!

She was so cute at the game and then tried some dribbling moves when we got home.

Tonight the girls were all about dancing, thanks to "Leap!" We found the soundtrack and they went nuts.

I know that there are some people who read this blog on their email when it comes through, but it seems like videos might not work on the email all the time.  If they don't, you can always go straight to the website: http://babygoose806.blogspot.com/ You don't want to miss out on the epic dance moves.

Anyway...hooray! Tomorrow is Labor Day, so we get an extra long weekend.

A Picture Update

Holy smokes it is September.

On Monday the girls hung out with Boom and Lucy. And we had dinner over there too.

And all day Tuesday they were with Chris but I wasn't sent any pictures, as per usual.

They hung out with G-ma and Pa on Wednesday and Thursday.

Last night we went to the Back to School night at Callie's school. She is soooooooooooo excited for 2nd grade!

Last night we went for a walk and football season has begun! The field by our house was very active and we watched the marching band practice.

I was home with the girls today and Callie has a crazy bad head cold. Fun times. We still bopped around a bit.

Finally, some videos, including the finishing line of the race last Saturday, one Boom sent me on Monday, and some tennis.

I have been really slacking in terms of running the past couple weeks. So I'm going to do Cincuenta September again this year- the goal to run 50 miles this month.

I was reminded on Timehop that 9 years ago today I ran a 10K with my dad.

That was inspiration enough for me to get back at it.
