Maya had preschool the past couple days, which was a very good thing. For my sanity and emotional health, and for her need for structure and play time with friends her age.

Here is a video of some highlights of the week- pictures and videos from Snap Chat stories and other random videos. It's like 4 minutes long so you are a true Baby Goose fan (family member I'm guessing! :)) if you make it through!

I have race #8 tomorrow. Though technically I guess it is #8 AND #9. I signed up for a 15K, but apparently it is just running a 10K first and then a 5K about a half hour later.  Regardless, I'll be getting 9.3 miles in, so whatever.

Have a great weekend!

Timehop Tuesday

It's already the 5th Tuesday of summer. Wow.

Here are my Timehops today.

First up, me and my sleepy preschoolers.

Then, I happened to go on long runs in the same running shirt exactly a year apart along the Mississippi.

And then a couple with Lucy! This one isn't really a Timehop, but Callie noticed yesterday that she and Lucy have similar tops!

And here is Baby Maya (2013) and Baby Lucy!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Whew! Another summer weekend is over. It is going by so fast.

On Friday night we stopped by our neighbor's and the girls enjoyed hanging out with their lady statue.

I left the house at 5am Saturday morning to drive to my favorite running spot. I did my favorite 5.5 mile loop...twice.

It went pretty well, so then I met a couple friends for water aerobics, where I'm mostly floated for an hour until I was allowed to do this for an hour:

And all that was accomplished by 11am.

Later the girls and I met Hanna and Shambles for playtime at the fountains.

This morning we headed to the zoo.

The highlight was definitely the camel ride!

Then later, while Chris went golfing, the girls and I went to hang out with Boom.

I'll leave you with a Maya QOTD. And to give a little background, I should let you know that as an almost 4-year-old, she is a completely irrational human being. I should also tell you that we call passing gas "toots mcgoots" in our family.

Maya: (passing gas loudly)
Me: Whoa! Toots!
Maya: (irrationally and legitimately yelling) WHY DIDN'T  YOU SAY TOOTS MCGOOTS?!?!?!

Preschoolers are fun.

Hope you have a lovely week.

A Picture Update: Summer Week 4

Happy 7/7/17!

This felt like a very strange and long week, with the 4th being in the middle of it. I was confused every day about which day it was. So here are the pictures, in no real particular order.

It was hot and muggy this week, but spent a lot of time outside playing and in our little pool!

We went to Auntie Cat's for dinner and to hear about her east coast trip- including lobster!

The girls still fight like cats and dogs at times, but this week they also played really well together, for longer stretches of time.

Chris worked Summer Fete, but we didn't go this year. I watched the fireworks from Maya's window while she slept.

I took the girls to the indoor park and we had the place to ourselves the whole time!

Jenna brought her girls over for some more pool time.

Callie and Maya got an impromptu sleepover at G-ma and Pa's last night!

That was very helpful for me, because Ms. Maya has been wide awake at 5:30am at least three mornings this week. Her room gets hot and she has had a bit of a cold, but still. Holy moly. It messed with my morning running schedule AND it required afternoon drives for car naps.

We parked in shady spots and I lounged my chair back to rest too, but I still would have preferred the sleep to have happened from 5:30-7:00am.

Speaking of afternoons, Callie had Hocus Pocus camp three afternoons this week. She showed us a card trick she learned, and Chris and I just kept giggling to ourselves. Maya was confused, but then impressed.  Good thing she is an easy audience.

Finally, we got to hang out with Baby Lucy today!

She is getting so big- I caught her her rolling over! I must have been holding my phone in a weird position but you'll get the gist of her accomplishment.

My favorite part today was when I had her on my chest and she just babbled and giggled at me.

Gotta love babies (especially ones you can give back)!

Have a great weekend.

Red, White, and Cute...Part 8

Holy moly we are on our 8th Fourth of July as parents. And as I like to tell people when they ask what we do for fireworks, it's been 8 years since we have seen 4th fireworks. Because...BEDTIME.

Anyway, we've had some cute little ladies on the 4th over the years. Well, just one cute little lady the first four fourths.

And then there were two cuties.

2014 looked a bit rough. It must have been before they were easily bribed with fruit snacks.

And just for fun, here are some outtakes from over the years.

Have a safe and happy 4th!

Timehop Tuesday (on Monday)

Hey all! Since tomorrow is the 4th, I thought I'd share my regular Timehops today and save all my RED, WHITE, AND CUTE ones for tomorrow.

First up: Callie is just looking so grown up these days.

Then: So is Maya

Also: these two are pretty cute. At least that is what Maya had been saying to her dad lately. "Daddy, you're so cute."

And so then I had to do one with me and Cal:

Finally, sisters at the farmer's market:

Come back tomorrow for some Independence Day themed Timehops!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Wow did we have a fun and busy summer weekend. It started with a 5K! My mom, Jenna, and I walked in the Rise Up 5K around Lake Harriet. It was a beautiful morning for a walk, and a great way to get in some cross training. And then we also had mimosas after we were done. Maya took the mimosa picture and Callie photobombed it!

I'll admit that after the race there was some major screaming fits and sass from our 2 children.  But. They always end and we always survive and move on to the next fun thing. In this case, it was going to the farmer's market. Maya was determined to find pretty flowers. Mission accomplished.

And then later we went on a picnic to a new play area near Boom's house!

This morning I got up before he sun and ran 10 miles as the sun was rising.

After church we came home and got out our new pool, that we got for free from our neighbors!

We ended our day at the falls with Boom, Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles, Baby Lucy, and Auntie Mari.

And of course, ice cream.

I'm so exhausted. And grateful.
