Trying to Stay Cool This Independence Week in 90-100+ Degree Heat

Ick.

These extreme temperatures do not a happy toddler make.

Or a happy mommy.  Or daddy.  Or doggy.

We've been doing what we can to stay entertained indoors, but we're going a bit stir crazy.  We have gone through many many books, played pots and pans as drums, and even stooped to pulling out the baby toys this morning.  On Tuesday night we went to G-ma and G-pa's and kept cool in the pool even though we were melting in the heat.

Despite the heat, we did enjoy the 4th.  We went to a parade in the morning, and stopped at Breugger's for their red, white, and blue bagels! We were home by the time the heat was unbearable.  We then hung out at G-ma and G-pa's and went to a BBQ at their neighbors' house.

But that night was ROUGH for sleeping because our old house, despite central air, gets SO hot upstairs in our bedrooms.  So we decided to plan an impromptu "stay-cation" and booked a room at a local Hilton...with a swimming pool, of course.  And then we invited Charlie and family to come over to swim with us!

It was a fun way to beat the heat...and our hotel room was blissfully cold and wonderfully air conditioned.

As you can see, I found out about a new picture collage site from our neighbor.  It is pretty basic, but super fun!  And it helps for my posts from being SUPER long.

Check out PicMonkey to try it yourself.

Have a great weekend!  80s are on the way, and I can't wait!!!
