Weekend Wrap-Up: The House on the Rock with the Grandmas Edition!

Hello! As I mentioned on the last post, the girls headed to Wisconsin on Thursday afternoon with Boom and G-ma to explore the House on the Rock and do other fun things at the resort!

I’ll let Maya take it away…

On Thursday afternoon we went to dinner with Great Uncle Larry and Great Aunt Mary and looked at the pool at the resort.

On Friday morning, we had breakfast and took a picture of all our JellyCats!

When we went to The House on the Rock, Boom sat in the Humor Test chair.  She got clown, which is the best! And then there were big steps up to something like an attic.  There was a disco ball car and the Infinity Room.

We were in the Street of Yesterday and there was a big carousel that was not rideable.

We took a picture by the big rock and we went into the garden and took another picture by the big pot.

We went to dinner at a restaurant by the Wisconsin River.  That fish was a sculpture by the Wisconsin River at the restaurant.  On Friday morning, we had breakfast at the resort's restaurant.

At the end when we left House on the Rock, we got souvenirs.  I got a pink backpack and Poochie the dog in a kennel cage.  Callie got a t-shirt that matches Boom's t-shirt. 

Thank you to G-ma and Boom.  We had a super trip!

Ok, back to me! The only other weekend pics I have are from a sweaty fast 5 mile run and a pretty evening walk with Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell, and Isla.

A Picture Update: Summer Week 4!

Hey all!  Another busy summer week and flown by.  

The girls slept over at Auntie Cat's house and spent Monday morning hanging out over there.

That night, we met Boom, G-ma, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla at Summer Fete (while Uncle Dan and Chris worked it) and had a lovely evening!

On Tuesday (the 4th of July!) we intended to have a beach day with Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla.  We got to the beach, got both paddleboards blown up, and then looked at the sky...no bueno...

So we packed everything back up and headed home...we got there just in time for a DOWNPOUR.  So beach day turned into playtime at our house.

Eventually it cleared up a bit, so we played outside a little bit.

That night we made a 4th of July meal (and my trifle for dessert!).

Wednesday morning's sunrise was lovely.  We spent the afternoon at the pool with the Held girls.

That evening we met most of the Johnsons for a picnic and playtime at the park. We got to see my cousin Emily, her husband Pat, and their kids, Henry and Hazel.

After lunch on Thursday, G-ma and Boom came to pick up the girls for a long weekend adventure in Wisconsin!  Come back on Sunday for more on that...I need the girls to help me write up their experiences when they get home!  I met Jenna for our usual margs, chips, queso and guac on Thursday night.

This morning I spent HOURS cleaning and organizing Callie's room.  I didn't take a before picture, but am proud of the after pictures.  And then I rewarded myself with a burrito!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hello all-

If you get the blog emailed, sorry for the early unfinished email post yesterday…I’m getting sloppy! I always start it early and a couple times now have published right away accidentally instead of setting a later publishing date. If you don't get emails and just check the blog site on your own, never mind...I'm perfect! Hahahaha.  I blame old age and yesterday’s 9 mile long run. 

Anyway… as I said I did a long run yesterday morning, done with 9 miles by 7:30am. The girls went with Pa to see a show and out to lunch…and then we hung out in the back yard. Callie got new Heely’s (tennis shoes with wheels in the heels) and has to learn how to use them for her summer theater show! 

This morning we went to Auntie Yoda and Uncle Craigles' house for a walk to the park and some lunch.  And somehow three of the girls ended up on my lap at one point.

Chris installed a can crusher in our garage, which brings back sweet memories from my grandparents' house and getting paid to crush cans for my Grandpa Henderson. I always loved their garage can crusher, and now we have one too, that Maya had fun using today.  And then Luna watched the girls on their wheels again.

This afternoon we dropped the girls off for a sleepover with Auntie Cat, and then took advantage of some kid-free time by heading to happy hour at my fave place.  

I love margs and queso!

A Picture Update: Summer Week 3!

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday!  I can't believe we are finishing up week 3 of summer...and June!  It all goes so fast.  We have had a busy week, but here are some pics:
