Wednesday Wisdom: Ask Lady Advice *A VERY SPECIAL EDITION*

ASK LADY ADVICE
*Special Edition*

Editor's Note Part 1: Lady Advice is actually on vacation this week, but wanted to do this special column before she left.  Any other letters that have come will be addressed next week.

This is a clue to Lady Advice's identity!

Dear Lady Advice,

It just so happens that I have TWO little nieces or nephews that will be born in January 2020, likely a couple weeks apart from each other.  I LOVE BABIES and am afraid I am going to HAVE NO CHILL when they are born.  Can you help me think of some ways to be calm and relaxed when the babies come?

Thanks,
Over-the-Moon Auntie

*****************************************************
Dear Over-the-Moon Auntie,

What a coincidence! I’m going to have two cousins in January 2020 too. Clear your mind of babies. Remember they drool all over you and have poopy diapers. That’s gross.

But they are super cute too. So good luck! You’re gonna need it!
Love,

Lady Advice

Editor's Note Part 2:

*SPOILER ALERT*

It's ME, Kati! I AM OVER-THE-MOON AUNTIE! Dan and Hanna are due with their 1st baby in early January 2020, and Laura and Craig are due with Lucy's sibling later in January 2020!  Can you stand it?  I certainly can't handle it and as I said in my letter, I will have NO CHILL when it comes to all things baby and baby snuggling. I'm even all in for baby drools and poops!

Hooray for babies!!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Well, we are officially halfway done with summer. Bonkers. We had a fun and HOT weekend.

Yesterday morning the girls, Luna and I went on a “run.”

Then while Chris did chores around the yard and house, the girls and I went to a park!

And then Luna was high maintenance.

Last evening we met one of Chris’ coworkers, Jeremy, and his wife and kids at the splash pad and then they came back to our house to play and BBQ. It was a super fun evening!

Today the big event was driving Callie to camp. It was about 2 hours each way, and Maya was a trooper. She was nervous and excited. She had fun putting all her stuffed animals and things up in her bunk bed, and seemed fine when we left. I can’t believe she will be there until Friday!

As we were saying goodbye, Maya opted for a head bump instead of a hug, so Callie gave one back to her and then she hung on Chris for a bit.

As we were leaving she was invited to join some sort of game and went willingly!

I know she is going to love it, and I’ll be glued to the camp Facebook page each day waiting for pictures to be posted. Apparently bedtime isn’t until like 10pm so she is going to be one tired cookie when she gets home!

Now, this girl is stuck with her boring parents all by herself until Friday.

Have a great week!

A Picture Update: Summer Week 5

Holy moly, guys, this week was a doozy. Callie’s performances of Alice @ Wonderland were last night and two shows today and it was so fun! But EXHAUSTING. I helped with the full rehearsals on Wednesday and Thursday AND the show last night. It was a lot of hanging out backstage and telling squirrelly 3rd-8th grade actors to BE QUIET. Callie was mortified and I told her to just tell her friends that I’m a teacher and using my teacher voice. So she did. Ha!

Anyway, more on that later.

On Monday, Maya decided to enroll Luna in her own little PET ACADEMY (thanks to a toy set at Target's Dollar Spot).

Then we hung out outside since it was nice (and hot).

On Tuesday, Maya, Luna and I did a tour of parks around the neighborhood.

Then there were dentist appointments, needy dogs, and ever expanding HAIR.

On Wednesday I sent Maya to Boom's house so I could help with Callie's rehearsal. Cuteness abounded, as always.

G-ma sent a picture of the cute doggy cousins, and Callie rocked footie jammies in July.

Yesterday Maya and I were both at the rehearsal all morning. Maya did a great job sitting in the audience watching the rehearsal process, while I helped out backstage. We got to reconnect every once in awhile.

As for the shows- opening night was last night.  I helped out before the show and back stage so I had an interesting perspective.

There were so many people there to support Cal!

Peter, Amy, Auntie Yoda, G-ma, Auntie Hanna, Uncle Dan, and Pa!

She had two shows today- one at 2:00 and one at 7:00.  Again, so many people came to see her theater debut.

G-ma, Maya, Auntie Cat, and Pa!

Papa, Pa, Uncle Gus, G-ma, Nana, Auntie Karen, Boom, Daddy, and Madison!

She's a lucky kid, and we really appreciate everyone who was able to experience the craziness that was "Alice@Wonderland." Unfortunately, I can't post any video due to copyright enfringement.  But trust me when I say, it was something else! :) The whole experience was so fun for Cal, and she wants to do it again next summer.

Now she has 1.5 days to recover before heading to overnight camp on Sunday for 5 nights!  Uffda!

Have a great weekend! And just for fun- I’ll leave you with a picture of all the bouquets our little actress received these past two days.

Wednesday Wisdom: Ask Lady Advice

ASK LADY ADVICE

This is a clue to Lady Advice's identity!

Dear Lady Advice,

How do you climb down from a mountain if you are scared of heights?

Thanks,
Shivering in my Boots

*****************************************************
Dear Shivering in my boots,

Take it slow, one step at a time, or ride down on a sled. And never go on a mountain ever again.

Love,

Lady Advice

Dear Lady Advice,

I know someone who isn't getting enough sleep at night.  She goes to sleep right away but then wakes up super early (4 a.m.) and can't get back to sleep.  Do you have any suggestions for her?

Thanks,
Concerned Sister

*****************************************************
Dear Concerned Sister,

First I would tell her to count sheep, and put her hands on her abdomen and feel herself breathe.  Tell her to just relax and do a lot of fun things during the day to go home and be tired.
Love,

Lady Advice

Dear Lady Advice,

If I could only do one thing at the Wisconsin Dells (all you can eat pizza and root beer for a day, water park for a day, mini golf for a day), what should I choose?  And why?

Thanks,
Undecided Pa

*****************************************************

Dear Undecided Pa,

I think you should pick waterpark, so you can spend more time with your family.

Love,

Lady Advice

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hello!  Happy Sunday!  We had another fun and summery weekend.  Yesterday G-ma and Pa took the girls to another donut shop and then they played outside.

Then I joined the girls and G-ma at the beach for a little lunch and some lake time.  It was a BEAUTIFUL day to be at the lake.

Then later we played games with G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat and Auntie Hanna while Chris and Uncle Dan played golf.

Today we went to Como Zoo and Conservatory: animals, rides, flowers...it was lovely.

This afternoon we took it easy, did some cleaning, and survived until bedtime.  Have a great week!
