Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday, y'all.

Today would have been Kona's 11th birthday. Last year she got to spend her birthday in the sun, as Timehop reminded me today.

Sweet girl. We spent the past 10 years having DQ ice cream cake to celebrate her birthday. We didn't get that today, but we did go to DQ for a little ice cream and to honor our Kona Hope.

Yesterday morning was my 2nd race of the year- a 7K and it was freezing. The official times are not posted yet, but I think I finished in about 40 minutes, which I'm happy about. Also, I wore magenta to a race filled with people in green. Oops. At least we all got a green neck warmer.

Yesterday we went to Auntie Cat's house and got to play with a little dog that her roommate was dog sitting.

Today was super productive and kind of lazy at the same time. I got a lot of chores done, and the rest of the family laid around a lot.

I'll leave you with one of my favorite pictures of Kona and the girls. Sweetness and sunshine.

A Picture Update

Hey all! Happy Friday. Chris was on a work trip for the bulk of the week, so it was us three girls for a few evenings and mornings.

Thank goodness Daddy is home now.

Earlier this week, with Boom and G-ma:

On Tuesday we went to Callie's conference and the girls were excited about the 50 cent eraser machine.

And that's all I got. My 2nd race of 2017 is tomorrow morning! It's a 7K, which is 4.35 miles. And it is going to be pretty dang cold.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! You guys, Maya had a hard start to 2017, and her attitude and behavior were ROUGH. But I'm happy to report that she has become SO sweet and pleasant!*

*Most of the time

And she is so stinkin' funny. Today she was "doing my haircut" and made the goofiest faces!

Holy moly it makes me giggle every time I look her.

Anyway, we had a pretty good weekend. Yesterday we went to hang out with Boom. She taught Maya how to use the little vacuum (grooming her to be the neat freak that the rest of us are not, I suppose) and we went to the library downtown.

At the library, Maya picked out a very large book about the history of the American Girl Dolls. My sisters and I grew up with those dolls. I remember the catalogues and the ordering process. We had so much American Girl gear to go along with our dolls. It was so fun to read the book. So nostolgic.

My mom has one of the dolls and a few of the accessories that the girls play with. Maya found a picture of Samantha's desk that is still at Boom's house.

Callie had dance and then went to Annelise's volleyball game with G-ma. She drew a picture of the game while they were there.

Chris brought home some new Lego Batman sets from Costco, so the afternoon was spent putting those together.

And I made a Blue Apron pasta meal. Thank goodness for Maya- she is the only one who eats those delicious meals with me.

Today's big adventure was having a picnic lunch and playing at a park.

And then later when we went for a walk outside, the girls' fashion was ON POINT.

Happy first week of March! Spring is in sight...I think. I hope.

Meanwhile we are all on baby alert. With a due date less than a month away and the baby already measuring over 7 pounds, the girls' little cousin will be here before we know it! SO. EXCITED.

A Picture Update

Hey all! We made it to Friday.

This is a hard part of the school year- the long slow slog until spring break. But I put on my good attitude sweatshirt on Monday and paid attention to the pretty sunrise outside my window.

Maya had fun with Boom. That face just gets me every time.

Hanna and Dan invited us over for dinner on Monday night, and the girls had fun playing with Shambles.

They hung out with G-ma and Pa on Wednesday and Thursday.

Yesterday was Dr. Seuss' birthday, and Maya had made some Dr. Seuss things in preschool to celebrate.

Tonight we are freshly bathed, ate dinner in the basement and looked fierce while watching the women Gophers.

I'll leave you with with 2 funny things:

1) A Callie QOTD: She asked about Ash Wednesday after seeing it on her calendar.

Callie: Today is Ash Wednesday.  What is that?
Me: That means it is the start of Lent.  We wait until Easter, when Jesus comes back.
Callie: Wait, what?
Me: When Jesus rose from the dead, remember?
Callie: Like a ZOMBIE?!?!

Oh boy.  I blame her Sunday School teacher of many years (*ahem* CHRIS *ahem*)

2) And also, a crazy Maya video...once again.

Have a great weekend!

Timehop Tuesday

Today is Laura and Craig's 2nd anniversary, which means that 2 years ago we were in Mexico, on the best trip ever.

So my Timehops today are from Mexico.
