Happy Thursday!

Our first throwback is a showcase of our Easter Bunny picture from this year, along with others from previous years.  There were a couple years where our first toddler clearly didn't seem to want anything to do with a giant bunny, so no pictures were taken.

And then, just for fun, the difference 5 years makes.

Finally- first haircut pictures!  Maya was a couple months younger than Callie, but both are clearly dubious of the process.

Callie had school today so Maya and I were on our own. After playing on the bed a little this morning and seeing the growing mullet the back of her head was becoming, I made an appointment.

An hour later we were at Kids' Hair and Maya was suspicious. 

Thankfully I brought fruit snacks and the hair cutlady had bubbles. Also, Mickey was on the little TV. We opted to ex-nay the haircut cape, so she did ok.

Until the hair dryer, then she got suspicious again. But we just called it wind and she recovered.

All in all, it did not appear to be a traumatizing event, and that was my goal. Whew.

She is just getting much too big, though. Old enough for a big girl haircut? Ridiculous!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hello!  How was your weekend?  I hope it was great.

After our final little puking episode on Friday night, we have been puke-free.  Yesterday afternoon was still rather challenging, but at least the bodily fluids stayed put. 

Here was our weekend:

Saturday

Maya and I went with Bops to an Easter brunch.  It was a big bummer that Callie couldn't come with, because she was really excited about it, but she was happy enough watching a movie with Daddy and us bringing back some eggs with treats inside for her.

Maya had a blast at the brunch.  She got to high five the Easter Bunny AND an Easter Chick.  A live sized CAW-CAW?!?!?!  Amazing!  She also got to visit a little petting zoo.

When we got home it was nap time.  I somehow tricked Callie into napping too, but she slept in our bed holding onto my arm, so I couldn't do anything but lay there.  It was awesome.

But Maya's nap was WAY too short.  Once she woke up, she was CRABBY.  ALL AFTERNOON. 

Chris was working, and by later afternoon Maya decided that she was going to fake an arm injury.  She started to not use her left arm.  She wouldn't use it to hold up a cup or do anything.  So I started getting worried, and then once Chris got home, we decided we should probably get it checked out.  So we drove to the ER and parked.  On the way there she stopped screaming, and when we got her out of the car in the parking lot, she was perfectly fine.  I asked her to give me a high five with the allegedly injured arm, and she did it no problem.  She moved it around a few more times, proving that it was, indeed, NOT injured.  So we drove back home, and I went to dinner and out to a show with Auntie Cat and her friends.  Thank goodness...after that long afternoon I needed a fun night out!

Sunday

This morning both girls woke up and were...CHEERFUL!  I can't even remember when the last time that happened!  They played together on our bed and it was hilarious.  They get each other going and eventually get each other mad.  Just like sisters do.

Maya and I did go shopping, like she said.  And then we came home and she snarfed down some (guaca)MOLE for lunch.

We spent the afternoon at the condo hanging with Bops, Auntie Yoda and Uncle Craigles.

And then finished the night at home with a dance party in the living room.  Don't mind the toddler in the diaper in the background.

Now I'm on spring break and am looking forward to a fun week ahead with my girls!

OMG.

It is spring break.  My brain hasn't even registered that yet because it has been such a crazy week.

In case you missed it, the girls got ANOTHER FREAKING STOMACH BUG earlier this week that has lasted for days.

At about 2:00 today I was ready to report that both girls were at about 85% healthy.  Callie maybe a little less so because she still seemed pretty wiped out, but they both appeared to be bouncing back and in good spirits.

Then 6:00pm rolled around, gassy smells abounded, and Callie started puking, etc. 

THIS FRICK-FRACKING STOMACH BUG WILL NOT LEAVE.

I can't even say much more at this point.  I'm so tired.  Here are the pictures.

During Maya's nap today we had a cuddle session and read a bunch of books.  Under the covers of Chris' and my bed.  With princesses.

Needless to say, the sheets have been changed.

I just feel so badly because they have been so miserable for so long.  I hope that this round is quick and that everyone feels better in the morning.  Sigh.  What a way to start off spring break.

What day is it?  Thursday?  We are climbing our way out of another stretch of sickness.  So far it has only been the girls (*knock on wood*) but it has been 48 hours+ of weird combinations of fever, puking and diarrhea.  And general unhappiness.  Just like it was a short TWO months ago, but worse and longer.

BOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Chris dealt with the worst of it when it really started for both of them on Tuesday. I took my first sick day at my new job on Wednesday. Today we are tag teaming.  Teamwork makes the dreamwork, I guess.  Though I don't consider cleaning up puke and listening to super miserable children dreamwork, but I'm thankful for an awesome partner in crime.

 It was rough.  But that's how it goes.

Thankfully this morning both girls seem much better.  Maya has an appetite and is actually eating for the first time in two days.  Callie doesn't want to eat yet, but she's drinking lots of fluids and is much more alert and active than she has been in two days.  Probably the fact that they went to bed early last night and got 13+ ours of sleep helped a lot.

Anyway, I have lots of Throwbacks for you today because it is the last TBT of March and I have a lot I haven't posted yet.  Yay!!!!

20-Months-Old!!!

This little lady is has been in our lives for 20 months now.  It is hard to believe that it has been that long, though it is also hard to imagine life without her.

Gah.  That little face.  Those huge cheeks.  I can't even handle it.

She still wasn't feeling that great today, but Boom took excellent care of her, and she perked up after nap time.

This evening she "read" Hop on Pop for me about 30 times.  Here is one of the versions, with a quick distraction from Kona mixed in there.

Yes, there is a giant booger hanging out of her right nostril.  That's how it has been the past 48 hours, and I'll leave it at that.

As far as her sister relationship goes, she is in the driver's seat a lot of the time, and I love it.  I think she'll be giving Callie a run for her money once she can communicate even better, and it is going to be AWESOME.

In four short months we will have a two-year-old, and all I have to say to that is...BRING IT, MAYA.
