Weekend Wrap-Up
Happy Sunday! We had a lovely weekend. On Saturday morning I woke up to a pretty sunrise on the late before heading home.
After I got home, we headed to Hillcrest Carnival for an afternoon of fun! Chris even donated some homemade fly fishing hooks to their silent auction.
Pa, Max, Mitchell, Isla, Dan and Hanna joined us too!
Later we relaxed at home and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather.
I didn’t really get any pics today- we did a lot of cleaning and yard work, Maya went to G-ma’s and Callie had work.

A Picture update
Hey all! Happy Friday!
On Tuesday we met Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla for a nice walk at Centennial Lakes. We ended up seeing Pa and Max too!
Wednesday, April 30th, my mom and I went to Lakewood Cemetery and walked around for an hour. We ended up seeing a ribbon tree, so we wrote on a ribbon for my dad and added it to the tree.
Then we went to lunch and back to my mom’s to look through things from the funeral (cards, articles, guestbook, etc). She also still has one of his suits, so we got that out as well.
On Thursday Maya finally had another track meet. Two of them have been cancelled due to weather since her first one!
While Chris was at the meet, I made my way to Lakewoods Resort in Wisconsin for a solo trip for a couple nights! My goal was just to relax, read, learn to crochet, and eat good food. I made soup last night.
Today was super rainy so I went to breakfast in the lodge, spent time at the pool/sauna/hot tub area, and did some more crocheting.
Once it stopped raining I made it out for a little hike!
Then it was happy hour!
Chris held down the fort with the girls and their various activities, and I’m grateful to have some relaxation and down time!

10 years
Over 20 years ago I was moving into my first apartment. My mom, dad and two sisters each made me a piece of art to hang on my new walls. This was my dad’s piece, titled “Off the Payroll”:
I think this sums up his humor, love and support perfectly. Because of course, despite his jokes, he still bought us dinners and took us on vacations and provided emotional support and life advice and took me school supply shopping for my classrooms and spoiled my girls so much more.
I love you and miss you, Dad. ❤️❤️ Always.

The impact of the loss of him 10 years ago can’t really be summed up in words on a blog post. Our lives are so different now. Our family has grown and changed so much.
Ten years later we are deep in teen/tween parenting life and it is busy and harder than I ever expected and yet there is a lot of fun and joy to be had. And I know he wants that for us, is proud of us, and is here with us, no matter what.

Weekend Wrap-Up
Happy Sunday! We had a nice weekend. Maya and I laughed a lot over her loud burp at Lunds and hand fun in the new hammock.
Today we went to the condo for a gathering time to remember my dad. He will be gone for 10 years on Wednesday so we had some of his favorites: rum and diets, burgers on the grill, and my mom made homemade carrot cake. And the T-Wolves won to boot!
