Weekend Wrap-Up: Happy Birthday Chris, Uncle Dan and Auntie Yoda!

March 19th is a big day in our family!!! Lots of birthday people: Chris, Uncle Dan AND Auntie Yoda!

We spent the weekend celebrating the birthday people. :)

On Friday night the girls and I went out to dinner and to see "Hello, Dolly!" with Boom and Auntie Yoda. 

It was an AMAZING production at an adorable little theater.  It has always been one of my top favorite musicals.

On Saturday night, Chris and I went on a double (birthday) date with Dan and Hanna! We did an escape room and went out to dinner.  It was awesome (though we did not in fact escape the room in the allotted hour we were given...). Dinner was delicious and the boys got free birthday dessert!

The girls slept over at Boom’s house and had a lot of fun, as per usual.  She taught them how to knit!

This morning I planned a birthday brunch for Chris at our fave brunch place with a few friends. 

And then we celebrated Chris and Auntie Yoda at Boom’s house for playtime and dinner (and an Avery FaceTime).

The girls played with all of Maya's JellyCat animals and built a fort.

And Boom made delicious chocolate cupcakes.

And then to finish out the day, G-ma came over for birthday brownies!

WHEW.  I am EXHAUSTED from all the fun festivities, as are the rest of them.  And to add to the madness...this upcoming week is Callie's show week...she has 5 performances of Aladdin Jr, starting on Wednesday!  

Spring break is 2 weeks away...can't wait!

On to the week…

I had the day off on Monday, so I enjoyed the sunrise before going in to the DMV and met the Johnsons for Amy’s birthday breakfast! Also Luna was cuddly and clingy when I was back home.

On Tuesday there was a Snuffy’s fundraiser for Callie’s theater group so we ate dinner out and, as you can see, they complied super well for a photo. 

Then there was chaos in the basement last night…

…and family breakfast at Maya’s school this morning!

We have a super busy and fun weekend planned (lots of birthdays ahead!), so stay tuned on Sunday for the wrap-up.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday everybody!

After I posted on Friday, I ended up taking a couple more pictures.  The past couple months I have been trying different "non-alcoholic social tonics" to cut down on my wine drinking.  I usually like to put them in wine glasses, but the one I tried on Friday night just made me giggle.  The green color was funky (and it tasted kinda funky too)...and then Maya lost another tooth!

On Saturday, while the girls were with Boom and G-ma at a middle school production of Beauty and the Beast Junior, Chris and I went to test drive and ultimately buy a NEW CAR!!!  It's a beautiful blue Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid, and it is SO MUCH FANCIER than my 2012 red GMC.  

Last night Hanna, Mitchell and Isla came over for dinner and playtime...and G-ma stopped by too! 

Today Maya and Luna were being silly, we took the new car out for our first family ride, and Maya continued to enjoy the big snow mounds behind our house.

Also, Pa came over to hang out and watch Lego Masters with us.  Highly recommend that show!  It is a fun Lego building competition show, and it is also hilarious.

Happy Tuesday! First up…the goofy girls.

And then…I had to recreate my headstand. Because thanks to yoga, I can do it even better at almost 41 than I did at 30!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Here we are on Sunday night. Our weekend was relatively calm.

I cannot WAIT for those ugly dirty snowbanks to disappear and stop blocking the pretty sunrise. 

We had dinner at Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla’s house last night and it was pure kitchen-rolling, wall-standing, pillow-fighting chaos!
