Weekend Wrap-Up

Ahhhhh how is it already Sunday night?!?!

Ok...here are the pics from the weekend!

At home on Saturday morning: playing on Gigi’s piano, Maya LOVES funny filters, and a tired doggie after a 3 mile run.

Then Maya found a recipe for the “best chocolate cookies” on the internet and we made them!

Later that afternoon we went to hang out with Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla...with golf, cookies, and more filter fun!

Today we just tried to be both lazy AND productive. And the neighborhood scooter gang got together!

Tonight I made some homemade broccoli and shells Mac and cheese and Maya, Luna and I were a “snuggling crew.”

Have a great week!

A Picture Update: Two Harbors!

Happy Friday!  The week of spring break FLEW by...mostly because Chris and I spent a good chunk of it up north in Two Harbors!

On Monday I finished a puzzle, went for a pretty run, and the girls got HAIRCUTS (and had colorful suckers).

After lunch on Tuesday Chris and I dropped off the girls at G-ma and Pa's house and headed north.  We got to Tettegouche for a hike in the late afternoon.  The sun was there when we first go there, and has we were hiking the fog rolled in.  It was pretty cool, actually!

Then we headed to our resort...Larsmont!  We had a lakeside "cottage suite" and the view of the lake was lovely. We wandered around the lakeshore for a bit and ordered take-out from the resort restaurant.

It was rainy (all week, basically) on Wednesday morning.  I still got out for a lakeshore walk and then worked on a puzzle while Chris had to work.

We FaceTimed the girls and even got to see Luna! Maya was excited.  Callie didn't want to be bothered (she was reading) and Luna was confused.

That night was REALLY windy and rainy.  We drove down to Duluth and tried to walk around Canal Park, but it wasn't that fun because of the weather.  So we ended up driving around for awhile and then once again going to pick up takeout.  The view out our window was very wet.

When I went out for a walk on Thursday morning, I interrupted a group of deer eating breakfast at 6:4am. I also had scheduled a 9am massage and it was SO amazing.  The "massage cottage" was right on the lake so the windows were open and I could hear the waves the whole time.

Then Chris and I headed to Gooseberry Falls!  The water was rushing SO fast.  We did a 2 mile hike around the waterfalls and even passed a couple getting engaged on one of the bridges!  They were so excited and it was adorable.

As you can see, the color of the waterfalls was a weird rusty yellow.  So I thought I'd make one of my pics a black and white.

It was VERY rainy that afternoon, so we hunkered down in our room and I worked on the puzzle while Chris watched the Masters.  It was a lovely and relaxing afternoon/evening!

While we were gone, the girls spent two nights at G-ma and Pa's house and had a blast as usual.

Then they spent the night with Boom on Thursday night, and had a blast there, too!

This morning we finished out our trip with a 1.5 walk for coffee in the rain!

Click here for 2ish minutes of lovely north shore scenery!

We were happy to be reunited with these crazy girls to finish out the weekend back together.

Weekend Wrap-Up: Happy Easter!

First up, Happy Easter!

Yes, Callie created her own bunny headband.  It was pretty awesome.  But more on Easter later...

On Friday night after bedtime Hanna and I met on a patio near a fire pit for drinks and bruschetta.  It was so lovely!  We plan to make it a regular thing...and hopefully it will just get warmer.

On Saturday morning we headed over to the Lindsay's for Lucy's birthday party!  It was a beautiful morning and we had fun playing outside.

After brunch, Lucy was very excited to open her presents.

And eat her cake!

And since Mari and Josh were still in town, we got a family picture!

That afternoon the girls and I dyed our Easter eggs.

And Luna and I went for a run and then rewarded ourselves with some hammock time in the back yard!

This morning the girls came down early because the Easter Bunny came!

And the freshly dyed eggs "turned into" DEVILED EGGS.  YUM.

We went over to Boom's house this morning to watch church, go on a "beanie baby hunt" and have lunch!

This afternoon there was an Easter Basket hunt at G-ma and Pa's house!

And an egg hunt, play time and dinner in the backyard.

Hanna and I had twin outfits, just opposite colors, so I had to get a picture.

It was a lovely weekend, and I'm so grateful for the sunshine, warm weather, and family time!

Click here for a few silly videos from the past couple of weeks, and have a great week!

A Picture Update

Hi everyone!  Guess who is FINALLY on spring break???? THIS GIRL. It seems like we are the last ones to get there, and I'm grateful to be here!

This week the girls were on spring break, and they spent the first chunk of the week doing a "staycation" with G-ma and Pa!  They had fun activities every day, and we FaceTimed them each night.  Here are the pics from Monday...I got to do an outdoor run in a T-shirt after work, and I also developed COVID ARM (it's a totally harmless side effect from the Moderna vaccine but it looks weird)! Fun times.

On Tuesday Maya FaceTimed me right when I got to work!  They had yummy pancakes for breakfast and Chris and I made a yummy pasta dish for dinner.

On Wednesday they got to buy some fun things at Hobby Lobby (thanks Nana and Papa!) and went on more adventures.  I did another afternoon run and it was lovely.

Thursday was April Fool's Day, and both girls sent me April Fool's messages!

We got the girls back that morning, so we took Luna out for a run in the field in between my work meetings.

I had planned ahead and ordered art projects for them to work on (Bloomington Community Ed rocks) during their one day at home while Chris and I both had to work. Then we watched a new show (Pooch Perfect) and it had Luna's clone on the first episode!  She was unimpressed...

Today the girls went downtown to hang out with Boom, Mila, and AUNTIE MARI!!!!!

She and Uncle Josh are here for the weekend and we are so excited!

Luna basked in the sun today while I finished up my work week.

Tonight we had a big family DECK DINNER, complete with LOTS of wind.

Have a great weekend!
