Happy Birthday Auntie Hanna!

It’s Hanna’s birthday today! She’s one of my favorite people to laugh with, as you can see.

We love you Auntie Hanna!

Weekend Update: The Happy Easter Edition!

Happy Easter!!

It has been a beautiful weekend and I’m filled with gratitude.

It is always fun to take a walk back through time...

More on Easter in a bit...but first yesterday! I did a slow, hot and painful 10 miler and survived. I ran into hundreds of people doing an Easter Egg hunt at one point, but it was a lovely morning for a run.

After dance, the girls went over to Auntie Cat’s house! They played and walked around the neighborhood picking up sticks. So much lovely sunshine.

Last night Laura and I went to see a production of Sweeney Todd. Mom was the flutist/piccolo player in the pit orchestra! Here’s a picture one of Mom’s friends took of her in the pit. It was an amazing show!

When I got back last night, I still had to do 11:30pm Easter Bunny duty.

The girls were up bright and early this morning to check out their baskets

And you know that sweet picture I took and posted at the top of the blog? Some were on the struggle bus while I was trying to take that picture, so my camera roll on my phone from this morning is FULL of outtakes.

Then we met Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles, and Lucy at church.

And went back to Boom’s house for Easter Egg hunts, fun presents, and a yummy brunch.

Then we headed to G-ma and Pa’s house to hang out with them, Auntie Cat and Auntie Hanna...and more Easter fun!

And THEN we headed to Aunt Karen and Uncle Gus’ house to see all the Gosselin relatives. There were 7 of Nana and Papa’s great-grandkids there, and a number of Gosselin cousins!

Whew! What a day! For video of all the Easter Egg/Basket hunts, click here.

Happy Easter! Have a great week.

A Picture Update

Hey all!

I don’t have too much for you this week. On Monday we did a reverse snow picture with Cal (by reverse I mean the reverse of the pictures I posted last week of Maya a few days apart with drastically different weather situations).

And Monday after school the neighbor boys came over and played for an hour or so.

Maya and Isaac were playing “house” and acted like an old married couple (Maya is “talking” on the phone in that bottom pic) and Cal and Caleb acted like cool tweens.

Maya snuggled Luna on Wednesday.

I took a pretty sunray picture this morning when I was out with Luna.

And Mary came over and did our spring pots for me! I love them!

Chris and the girls were all off today so he took them to the zoo!

Tonight I took Luna on a beautiful outdoor run and the girls played with the sunlight streaming in our (messy) living room.

I’ll end with this Story People (which originated in Decorah!) that I saw online this week that is a really good reminder about what we focus on and the words we choose to say to each other.

Have a great weekend!

School Pictures/Maya’s Mug Shots

Did the title get your attention?

Ha! Maya’s teacher posted some pictures last week, and in each of the ones that Maya was in, she looked like she was posing for a mugshot.

That top one especially CRACKS ME UP.

Anyway, she redeemed herself with her spring picture. Callie’s turned out great too!

Timehop Tuesday

Today is the first anniversary of Grammy’s death. I have so many fond memories of her, and am grateful that she was my Grammy. I’m guessing that this picture is from the late ‘90s.

I’m also grateful for these two crazies.

And I’m not grateful for snow in April.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday we had a chill morning at home and then headed to Boom’s after dance.

And we went to Izzy’s of course!

This morning I ran 8 miles on the treadmill and then one more mile with Luna.

After church we played outside and Callie made a snowman.

And then Cal and Chris watched the end of the Master’s, which is apparently a really big deal (despite their unexcited faces) because Tiger won.

We brought Luna over to visit Shambles, Uncle Dan and Hanna for a bit this afternoon.

And for a few silly videos, click here!

I’ll leave you with how close to me our high maintenance dog was while I was trying to take a nap.

Have a great week!
