It's March 19th, which only means one thing: SO MANY BIRTHDAYS!
And also Elliott. It's looking like a certain little baby has decided to not have the same birthday as so many family members, so we are still patiently waiting on her.
I did an awesome 5 mile run before 8am on Saturday morning. On the treadmill. I was surprised how easy it felt, and also thankful.
A little later the girls, Chris and I took a mini-road trip to Mankato so Chris could FINALLY get his Maya tattoo for his 35th birthday (he got a Callie tattoo when she was around 2). Chris' cousin-in-law, Nate, is a tattoo artist, so we went to their house and got to see Chris' cousin Sarah and their son Carter, too! The girls and Carter watched the magic happen for a few minutes.
The girls and I also checked out the Children's Museum.
When we got back to town we headed to Boom's place to celebrate Laura, Chris and Josh's birthdays (his is on Tuesday)!
Today, on the actual birthday, the tattoo was finally visible!!
G-ma and Pa stopped by to greet the birthday boy, and so did Auntie Cat. Maya wrangled Auntie Cat into some sort of board game with rules that were nonsensical, but they both seemed to have a lot of fun. Later I tried to get her to cuddle with me during quiet time, but she was too much of a weirdo.
Dave, Cherilyn and their kids, plus Nate, Kaela and their kids came over for play time and dinner this afternoon. So there were 6 adults and 7 kids 7-years-old and younger. Chris had fun snuggling with the littlest one- 6-month-old Adelay. He was the "sleep machine" and got her to fall asleep shortly before we had cupcakes.
Overall, I think it was a successful birthday weekend.
