A Year of Luna (and COVID)

We have hit a year of pandemic.  It seems pretty unbelievable but also I don't really remember what pre-COVID life was even like.  We have been SO LUCKY this past year.  We (and our friends and families) have been safe and healthy.  We have been able to work from home and do distance learning successfully.  I was looking back through pictures from March 2020 and I thought it was so funny to screenshot COVID memes like this:

The mom looks like that on DAY 3????  How about DAY 365?????  

Anyway, instead of focusing on the shared trauma and grief and disaster of the past year, I was trying to figure out a more positive way to mark this "anniversary" of sorts.  And today I saw this video:

And it described our doggie Luna TO A TEE.  She's the one who we have spent way more time with than we ever could have imagined, and the one who is always in my personal bubble.  She's a stage 5 clinger and has brought us many laughs and stinky farts this year.  So here's a series of pictures from March 2020 to today!  Our year of LUNA.

This doggie face...I can't get over it.  And I'm grateful we had her as another little creature to love during this tough year.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday evening! The weekend flew by and it was a nice one.

Yesterday morning I ran six miles and was treated to the sunrise. And then there was some Luna snuggle time and the neighborhood bike gang rolled around. 

This morning the girls and I tried some “hair chalk” to brighten up our hair color. 

We went for a walk with G-ma and Pa after lunch!


And then we had our first DECK DINNER of the season! It was still a bit chilly and our backyard was very wet, but we still had fun with Boom, Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles, Lucy and Mila. 

Can’t wait for deck dinner season to be in full swing!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday!

This week has been a bit of a blur and I don’t have many pictures, but here is what I got!

We are so grateful for the spring weather and are looking forward to spending lots of time outside.

Tonight the girls each got a bike upgrade (thankfully Maya is excited about Callie’s hand-me-down) and Callie got an adult bike with GEARS!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!  Another weekend sped on by.  Yesterday it started to feel like spring, and the kids were even outside sans coats for awhile!  I was able to get my first dose of the vaccine yesterday, thanks to "winning" the educator lottery.  I feel VERY thankful.  And last night, the girls had some Luna snuggles before bed.

Today did NOT feel like spring in Minnesota.  I went out this morning thinking Luna and I could go on a run, but it was snowing huge wet snowflakes, so we spent our time dodging super wet and slushy parts on the ground and instead just did a short walk.  Maya decided today would be a good day to wear a bathing suit with tights and socks, and the girls were just all over the place all morning, including in our bed where I was trying to rest my sore arm.  Secrets galore were whispered.

This afternoon we went out with Auntie Cat to get some sunshine and had a fun winter adventure!

Also, today is Auntie Yoda and Uncle Craigles' 6th anniversary!  Six years ago we were all down in Mexico having just the BEST time.  These pictures popped up on my Timehop and they are my favorites.  Now Lucy and Mila are almost the same ages that Maya and Callie were at their wedding.  And my dad had way too much fun on the dance floor with both girls that night.  So many wonderful memories to cherish.  

I can't believe to morrow is March!  I finished (and even exceeded) my February running goal.  I ran 64 miles with a goal of 60.  

My March plan is to train for a virtual 15K (9.3 miles), which I'll compete on or around April 10th!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday!  Here are some pictures from the week...I organized them in a more thematic way this time.  

Maya- this girl is just HILARIOUS.   I don't even know how to describe how funny she is.  But these pictures give a taste.

Callie doesn't generally let me take too many pics of her anymore, but we got some sister pics this week.  Thanks to G-ma for the outdoor shots.  It's SO nice here in MN (at least for winter time!).

Distance learning is still going strong...kind of.  Ha.  I can't believe it is almost March and I'm glad that spring feels around the corner.
