Happy Sunday!
My 7am run yesterday was dark and cloudy, but still kind of cool looking. I'm looking forward to when the sun starts rising earlier again!

To ruin the calories I burned from running 4 miles, I decided to make my mom's Christmas wreathes! Always my favorite of her Christmas treats.

After lunch we met G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Shambles for an outdoor adventure. The girls made rafts with Pa on Thursday, so it was time to put them to the test at Nine Mile Creek!

Mitchell was only mildly amused, as you can see...ha! And there was a lot of opportunity for the girls (and the boys) to use long sticks to retrieve the rafts on their way along the river.

Unfortunately, Maya's got sucked under a large group of logs towards the end and we couldn't retrieve it. But Callie's made it all the way down and she set her raft free at the end. Chris enjoyed hopping the creek and then being Tarzan at the end (see video evidence).

The rest of the day was spent celebrating the birthday doggie and watching White Christmas!

This morning the girls made a gingerbread house!

And Callie asked what to draw, so I told her to think of a good Christmas quote and make it a piece of art. This is what she came up with!

The rest of the day was cleaning and organizing, and then a Christmas movie marathon.

And then while trying to make a delicious chicken wild rice soup, I both sliced my thumb big time and dropped a glass bowl.

Fun times! But it was delicious soup. Have a lovely week!
