A Picture Update

Ahhhhhhhhhh it feels and looks and pretty much IS winter. Time to dig out Luna’s coat and get new snow boots for the girls. And me, apparently.

This week was a big one and we went to vote on Tuesday.

Callie was on the Top Reader bulletin board.

Both girls got a nasty cough, and Maya’s came with a couple days of fevers that kept her out of school for two days. Thanks to G-ma and Pa for taking such good care of her!

Callie took some selfies on my phone.

We ended the week at Target and I caved and got them each a cake pop and now they are running around like crazy people upstairs. Never again.

And lastly, I found this on Instagram and it is my new favorite phrase...especially since I have always considered myself a hot mess.

Have a great weekend!

Timehop Tuesday

It’s Election Day!

Go vote!

I’m voting because I care about these two (kindergarteners) and their future.

Happy Birthday Nana!

First off, it’s Nana’s birthday today! Happy birthday Nana...we love you!

We hope you had a great day!

On another note, tomorrow is Election Day. It is a big one, many say the biggest mid-term election of our lifetimes. Chris and I will be taking the girls tomorrow after work to show them the importance of democracy and the power of casting our votes.

If you haven’t yet, I encourage you to do the same!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hello! Happy Sunday. We had a fun, productive and lazy weekend all wrapped up into two days (plus a bonus hour).

We hung out at home on Saturday morning and had some snuggle time before dance, and then the girls went over to Auntie Cat’s house. They had lots of fun play time and then she put them to work in her yard, which is amazing. 😃

While they were with Auntie Cat, we had our 4th (and final) wedding since June. Mari’s college roommate Kelsey got married! Mari was the matron of honor and looked  lovely. In between the wedding and reception we went to a fun wine bar with Boom, Laura and Craig.

The reception was at the MN Zoo! It was in the aquarium part, and was super cool.

During the toasts (one of which Mari made) we played a game where we passed around this champagne flute filled with cash. Every time a speaker said either of the names of the bride and groom or the word Love, you had to pass the glass on to the next person. It made it around the table a LOT of times and guess who won the $12??? It also made the speeches way more fun to listen to. Thanks to Mari’s friend (and our table mate) Jeff for the idea.

He also was the photographer for one of my new favorite pictures: the Hendgosslindsharpe clan (minus the children).

This morning we actually got to enjoy the extra hour of sleep thanks to our stealthy changing of the clocks in the girls’ rooms at 10pm and their understanding they need to stay upstairs until 7am. We had another chill morning, went to church, and then finally got FLU SHOTS. And then they each got their preselected bribery item.

And as you can see, they chose to dress like twins today.

We ended the day with some games and a movie night, and now that it is November they decided it was appropriate enough to watch a Christmas movie. So we have now already watched Home Alone. Any bets on how many more times they’ll want to watch it this season? Such a classic. Maya and I were snuggling and then the pooch wanted to join in.

Also I’m feeling so accomplished...I already have a few Christmas presents AND our holiday cards ordered.

Also? I only have to work a little bit tomorrow and then have the whole rest of the day to myself.

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Happy November! The first quarter of the school year is done. I can’t believe it.

It is also Friday of Halloween week and our house is a disaster and our children are exhausted. I’m glad it is the weekend...

Let’s see, my school picture came back and it looks like I had Botox...or some free photoshop. My forehead has never been so smooth and shiny!

We had the last swimming lesson of the session on Tuesday (thank goodness) and Maya’s teacher posted a cute picture of her at her table.

Then...HALLOWEEN. The girls each had Halloween parties at school, and Callie was able to go help with Maya’s class. I went to school as a nerdy NASA scientist.

After a quick dinner we met Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles and Lucy for trunk-or-treat at church. Lucy was a riot.

Then we went back to our house to hit up some houses in our neighborhood. The girls got pretty full buckets!

On Thursday I got to walk Iris in the bright sunshine and later the girls started trading Halloween candy. Ironically, the hottest commodity were the vampire fangs.

Tonight we met Boom for dinner. Maya started out pretty hangry, but once she got some good in her she got much more pleasant. Also, Callie got me an ice cream cone shaped just like an elephant. Don’t you think?

Have a great weekend!

Happy Halloween!

We have a gaggle if superheroes this year! And Wonder Woman, Super Girl, and Wonder Dog are hard to photograph.

It’s always fun to look back on Halloween through the years, all the way back to 2009.

Don’t eat too much candy!🎃🍬

Then, Maya and Lucy!

And play time with Auntie Cat is always fun!
