A Picture Update: Summer Week 1

Hey all! Happy Friday! I know that I’m going to blink and it’s going to be August, so I’m trying to relish in the summer slowness, even when the days with a tween and teen can get sassy.  

Here’s what we were up to this week:

1) Maya being a goof

2) Maya at the pool

3) A delicious dinner at Hola Arepa 

4) Hanging at Boom’s (the girls) and cleaning the porch (me)

5) A trip to the beach (and paddleboarding…finally)!

6) The Farmer’s Market with cousins

Happy Wednesday! Oops. Now I’m in summer mode where days of the week don’t matter. 

Today we have Maya and a couple of her cousins!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey all! It was dance recital weekend!

The girls had recitals both Friday and Saturday night. They had lots of supporters each night (even little cousins!) and had so much fun. They have both grown so much in their dancing. We all loved watching them each night. Callie has been an assistant teacher for most of this year, so she was recognized by Ms. Connie at the end of each show. 💜

When we got home, the laundry baskets of dance stuff were a mess!


Chris was able to film their dance recitals while I was at graduation on Thursday. It’s hard to see the girls sometimes, but if you want to get the vibe, click here. And know that LaBamba went way better during the actual recitals. 🤪

We had a busy day on Sunday. Chris spent most of the day fly fishing at a state park down near Rochester. He had a great time. The girls, Auntie Hanna and so went to see Cirque de Soleil, thanks to free tickets Uncle Dan got for us! 

A Picture Update: It’s Summertime!

Hi all! Yesterday was the last day of my 20th year of teaching! 

I was feeling really nostolgic and was able to find a picture of one of the last few days of my first year of teaching (when my coworkers threw me a bridal shower after school).

Pretty crazy!!

Anyway, the other photos from the week are from Wednesday, when the girls hung out with Boom and Mila.

Timehop Wednesday

Ooops. In the end of year craziness I definitely missed it was Tuesday yesterday. 

Here we have four of the girls wearing Callie’s flower girl dress for Auntie Yoda and Uncle Craigles’ wedding…a dress that G-ma sewed!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey all! Happy Sunday! 

On Friday night Chris and I headed to Target Center for an 8:30pm Lynx game. They won! And the girls and G-ma saw us on TV. ;) We also were very close to Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner from the Mercury, which was fun. 

On Saturday the girls and I went to Lucy’s dance recital! It was adorable. 

This morning I enjoyed the sunrise, and then later we went to the beach for a picnic lunch. I wanted to get out the paddleboard, but it was too windy. Next time!

Later we met Boom, Auntie Yoda, Lucy and Mila for some DQ.

And finally, Maya and I went to the Lynx game tonight at 6!

Happy Birthday Bops ❤️

My dad would have been 69 today. His birthday always felt like the unofficial start of the summer season. We would do fun things like have dinner by the T&C golf course or at the condo, and he always took pleasure in hanging out with his granddaughters. 

Since he died we have spent this day doing a variety of things to celebrate: drinking scotch, releasing balloons, writing letters, cheering on the Lynx, basking in the sunrays, and going to Dairy Queen.  

Today I picked up some Twizzlers and Diet Coke in his honor.

We miss you, Dad, and love you. Happy birthday.
