A Picture Update

Hey all!  Happy Friday!  The girls are officially on winter break...and I have FOUR MORE DAYS.  We had a pretty busy week.

There was cookie decorating and Luna's birthday...

...a Christmas party at Nana's (with lots of relatives!)...

...and Cal and I got to go to Peter Pan with Uncle Dan and Auntie Hanna!

And then there are the elves...

...and a busy weekend ahead!  Have a good one!

It’s Luna’s 7th birthday today, so here’s a Timehop to her first birthday with us (when she turned 2)!

Weekend Wrap-Up: The HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTIE MARI & The Femme Farm Edition!!

Hello!  First up, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNTIE MARI!!!  We are glad we got to FaceTime you today and hope you had a great one!

Awhile ago Hanna, Cat and I talked about doing a quick overnight stay with us and the kids and the dogs somewhere fun in December.  I ended up finding a farm Airbnb a little less than an hour from the cities, so we booked it for December 9th.

And it came up so fast! We got to the Femme Farm in Glencoe around 1:00 yesterday.  It is a big, BEAUTIFUL farmhouse, with a big BEAUTIFUL barn on lots of BEAUTIFUL farmland.  

The owner met us when we got there and showed us around.  It is truly a lovely, cozy and spacious place.  Perfect for 9 crazy people and 2 crazy dogs.

Once we unpacked all our stuff, we headed out to the barn to meet the barn kitties, ducks and chickens! The barn kitties were a hit.  The barn itself was adorable, with lots more cute decorations, chandeliers, etc.

Then Hanna, Cat and I took the dogs on a long walk around the farm land.  The dogs were in heaven! Later, Maya tested out the little playground in the back.

It was pretty chilly, so by mid-afternoon we were ready to be cozy inside...snuggling and playing games.

After awhile the kids wanted to go visit the animals again, so we took advantage of this cute little structure on the property (it's a crystal shop!) with the G on it...the perfect spot for a photo-op with the littles (and a kitty).

Then it was time to go to the playground, and later more game time inside.

The house was so kid friendly with tons of toys and activities, including a DINOSAUR HEAD.  While Auntie Cat and Uncle Dan made a spaghetti dinner, the dinosaur shenanigans were afoot. And then there were Oreo Balls for dessert!

After dinner we lit the Menorah to celebrate the 3rd night of Hanukkah, and then had some more game time and snuggle time before bed.

This morning the girls were up by 7:30am to check on the cats, and I peeked out at them with my coffee from the wrap-around front porch.  Maya and Luna had some crazy time on the floor.

Then there was more time for games, going to that cute little crystal shop (the girls and I each picked out a crystal) and living room play time.

We spent the last hour watching the girls doing funny things outside and cleaning everything up...even Mitchell and Isla helped with the bedding!

All in all, it was a great 24 hour little getaway at the Femme Farmhouse!  Click here for 5 minutes of video of our crazy adventures.

This afternoon we relaxed and the girls went to see Beauty and the Beast with Pa!  It was a busy weekend!  We have a couple of very busy weeks ahead, but are excited for the fun to come.

A Picture Update

The big event of the week was Callie’s band concert. She wouldn’t let us invite people or take any pictures, but I could take some video, so here you go!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey all!  Happy Sunday Evening.  I'm feeling less frazzled than Friday night, thanks to a fairly chill weekend.  This is our last chill weekend until January...tis the season, I guess. And lots to look forward to!

Yesterday morning the girls and I headed to Boom's house to hang out and make Oreo Balls with Lucy and Mila!  They had fun with the smashing the Oreos step.

Today was a quiet morning, and then we put up Christmas lights.  Then it was another quiet afternoon with Callie at a friend's house, Chris making a Costco run, and Maya and I doing some room organizing and then funny-faced snuggling.

And of course, Coo-Koo and Looney were up to no good.
