Summer Update: Week 7- The (Kati goes to) LA Edition!

Hi all! Somehow it’s Friday again and we have had 7 weeks of summer and I have no idea how it happened so fast! This was a fun week for me…I spent a lot of it in Los Angeles with my friends Jenna and Bethany! 

On Sunday morning, Jenna and I headed to the airport at 6am and started out vacation with mimosas.

We met up with Bethany at LAX and headed to our Airbnb house. It had a pool in the backyard, so we spent the rest of the day enjoying the house and the sunshine! We ordered a delicious lunch for delivery, and got a grocery delivery too.

Meanwhile, Callie was finishing up her show so Chris and Maya had quality time together.

On Monday morning I headed out for an early walk around the neighborhood. It was fun seeing the palm trees, interesting landscaping and hazy views of the city. Then I enjoyed iced coffee outside near the pool!

The girls spent Monday at Boom’s house with Lucy and I got sent a funny picture in the morning. 

Jenna, Bethany and I spent the morning at The Grove (an iconic LA outdoor mall) to do some shopping and eat lunch. 

We came back to the house for a couple hours to relax (and have wine!). I FaceTimed the girls (and Luna) at various times throughout the afternoon.

Then we got ready to go to The Chicks concert at the Greek Theater (a beautiful outdoor concert venue). And I wore a hat!

The drive to the theater was pretty cool…lots of big, outrageous houses and beautiful sunshine. The concert was amazing and we had a blast! The large glass of wine in my hand in the picture below was actually a bottle that the three of us shared...ha!

On Tuesday morning we headed to Santa Monica pier and the beach!!!

It was cloudy in the morning, but the clouds lifted and the afternoon was sunny and beautiful. 

We had tacos and margaritas for lunch at the end of the pier.

Then we headed to the beach on the other side of the pier. 

We spent the rest of the evening back at the house relaxing in our jammies.

On Wednesday morning (the last morning there) I went out for another walk and more relaxing on the deck. Then it was time to head back to the airport.

While I was on the way home, Chris took the girls and Luna hiking (and apparently Luna was VERY naughty)! 

On Thursday I woke up early to go for a run.  It was great to see the girls when they woke up!  We walked to get donuts and go to the library, and then they had fun playing with Legos.

Later we took Luna out for a run in the field. With bubbles!

Maya had fun at the park!

Today we met Boom for a patio lunch and a paddle boat ride!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!  We had a VERY big weekend.

Callie performed in the show, Legally Blonde, four times!  Boom, Pa and Auntie Cat came on Friday night.  It was SUCH a fun show!

And after the show, we got Maya's birthday stuff all ready for the morning!

Yesterday was Maya's birthday!!!!  She was up before 7am, of course, and we were at the cookie story by 8am to pick out her birthday cookies!

Once Callie woke up, Maya opened her presents.  She got lots of fun gifts!

Then G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla all came over for a party. We walked to the park before the rain was supposed to come.

And then after a bagel lunch, she opened some more fun gifts! 


The cousins all had fun loving up Luna! 

Then it was time for a birthday haircut!

THEN LATER, Boom came over and Maya got MORE fun gifts!  And we went to dinner at (where else?) CHIPOTLE!!

All in all it was a great day and so fun to celebrate our 9-year-old!

Summer Update: Week 6

Happy Friday afternoon!  I’m coming  at you a little early today. Here are the pics from our week...

Monday: a pretty view on my run and typical Monday night chaos

Tuesday: an afternoon at the pool!

Wednesday: another pretty morning run sky, Maya teasing Luna with a newly made robot (from Robot camp), and a police reserves picnic

Thursday: seriously gorgeous skies at 6am and Callie’s opening night!!!

Friday: a bit of pampering!

Callie has three more shows this weekend (tonight, tomorrow and Sunday afternoon!) PLUS we have a certain almost-9-year-old’s birthday tomorrow!

As summer flies by, so do the years! 😭😭😭

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hi all!  Happy Sunday!  We had a busy and productive weekend.

While Chris and I spent all day doing chores and being productive, the girls went to the lake and for a picnic lunch with G-ma on Saturday!

Today was a BIG day.  Maya had her birthday party!  It started out at her gymnastics gym.  We had the whole place to ourselves and it was SO FUN.

The foam pit was a huge hit with all the kids!

The balance beams were fun too.

A few adults even got in on the action!  And Mila was adorable doing all the things.

So much fun all around!

Then everyone came back to our house for some backyard water fun.  It was nice and warm so the kids had a blast getting wet.

Since Maya's favorite meal is tacos, we catered lunch from Chipotle!  

Then she opened presents and got so many fun gifts.

Then it was time for cupcakes!
