Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday Folks.

Here are a few pics I forgot to post from Friday.  We found a giant snow hill (thanks to plows) behind our house. They did not seem to care that they didn't have snow pants on.

On Saturday we went over to to Boom's house for one last hurrah with Mari and Josh.  Lucy wore the Olaf hat I found in our winter gear bin and I couldn't stop taking pictures of her cute head.

Then we all went to lunch!

The girls had a sleepover with G-ma and Pa last night so Chris and I could go to my staff holiday party.

On the way home we got ice cream.

Today we went over to our friends Josh and Alison’s house for the Vikings game. Chris juggled apples, the kids played a lot of weird games that looked like just lying down and the Vikings pulled out the win in OT!

Tonight we played some Mario Party before bed. The girls are both not excited to go back to school tomorrow (and I am feeling similarly if I’m honest) but it was a good distraction for all of us.

I’ll leave you with some videos from the weekend. The first few minutes were the girls taking videos on their own during quiet time and they are a bit hilarious...click here!

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Ugh it is Friday already!  These two weeks have flown by but also Christmas seems like FOREVER ago.  So here is what we were up to this week.

Monday: One of the neighbor boys came over in the morning.

Then we played in the snow and played games (with no help from Luna).

Tuesday: We met Boom and Auntie Mari for lunch!

Then Cal made Rock Cakes from her Harry Potter cookbook. She is really getting in to baking.

Dan, Hanna and Mitchell came over for New Years Eve!

And Shambles too!

We played games, including Mario Party, which was HILARIOUS. Hanna and I had fun giggling and I snuggled sweet little Mitchell.

Mitchell was awake after his feeding so we got some good pictures of the cousins!

Then it was time for more games- UNO! And around 8:15pm we did the countdown and threw confetti.

Wednesday: 2020 started out with a beautiful sky!

We spent New Years over at G-ma and Pa's house with them and Auntie Cat.  We did more playing games and playing in the snow.

Thursday: I didn't do a good job of taking pictures yesterday.  The girls wanted to try out the treadmill in the morning.

And later we went to lunch with Boom, G-ma, Auntie Mari, and Auntie Cat and then the girls went to hang out at Chris' office so we could go see "Little Women."  It was SO GOOD.  But I didn't get any photographic evidence.

Friday: We went over to see Boom and Auntie Mari this morning and went sledding!

And then Boom made cheese art for lunch.

Click here for some video of our shenanigans from the past week.

Have a great weekend!

Timehop Tuesday: The End of the Decade

It is December 31st, 2019, which means it is the last day of the decade.

Ten years ago we were 9 days into parenthood and the change of the decade was nowhere in my consciousness.

This has definitely been the biggest, most special, and most challenging decade of my life, as I have navigated raising babies into elementary school kids and also lost my dad halfway though.

This winter break I have spent a lot of time organizing pictures on my computer, so I have had the opportunity to go back and look at memories from this past decade.  I tried to figure out how to best post about moving in to 2020 and I'll admit I was at a bit of a loss.  So I decided since the 2010s were mostly the evolution of our little family, that I'd find random family pictures from each year.  So here's my DECADE long Timehop...

And now all the other years in the decade! (My very scientific way of choosing one picture from each year out of the thousands of pictures, was to do a random number generator on my phone from 1-12 to have it choose which month to focus on for each year).

Have a great New Year's Eve!  Happy 2020!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! We had a pretty good weekend!  Here are some more cute Mitchell pics from Friday night:

We didn’t so much of anything yesterday. Except I fell hard on the ice right away in the morning and Maya got slime everywhere.

There is video evidence of my fall, which is painfully hilarious, so if you see me in person I will show it to you. But I don’t need to put it out on the interwebs...HA. My children think it is very funny.

Today Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna and Baby Mitchell came over. Maya finally got to hold him because she is finally healthy.

Then Mitchell stayed with the boys so we could all go and meet Boom, Auntie Yoda and Auntie Mari for pedicures!

Tonight we went to see the Helds and the kids had a blast playing at their school gym.

And then we had dinner and got the kids together for an oldest to youngest photo op!

One more week of break! It is both awesome and I hope we all survive.

A Picture Update: The Week of Christmas MEGAPOST!!

Happy Friday everyone!  The fact that I even know it is a Friday seems like a Christmas miracle.  WHAT A WEEK!  Here is a megapost of all we have done over this Christmas holiday week.

Monday: The girls and I headed downtown to hang out with Boom, Auntie Mari and Lucy!

Click here for some cute videos of those crazies!

Maya fell asleep on the way home after all running around!  Later the girls played Mini-Quidditch, thanks to Callie's new Lego set.

Tuesday: Merry Christmas Eve!  We went to church at 10am, and then headed to Boom's house for the Henderson side Christmas celebration. We had a delicious fajita lunch (which none of the children ate) and Christmas cookies (which all of the children ate).

After Lucy's nap time we opened presents!  Lots of fun stuff!

When we got home, the girls opened most of their presents from us and each other (and Luna!).

After bedtime, SANTA CAME!

Wednesday: Merry Christmas!  Callie was up before 6am but not allowed to come see the Santa stuff until 7am.  Maya slept in and came down about 7:30.  The Santa presents were a hit.

Then we headed to the Gosselin side Christmas celebration with some big presents (and forced smiles).

Right away we tried to get a family photo, but Luna was a WEIRDO LUNATIC.

Finally we got a good one.

Then we got to hang out with all the rest of the family, including G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Baby Mitchell, Nana, Papa, and Boom! Lots of people got a lot of Mitchell snuggles.

We had a yummy brunch and then Chris read the Christmas story.

The faces of Mitchell are PRECIOUS.

And Hanna had fun making us laugh by making him do funny things with his face.

Then it was PRESENT TIME!  Again, so many fun ones.

Maya got 2 baby dolls and now you must guess which one is the real baby!!

Then we had time to just hang out, play games, and watch Chris and Pa set up their new TV.

And finally a real cousins picture.

Later we went to serve dinner to families staying at our church over the holidays.  While we were preparing the food, the girls were running around on the stage like crazy...click here for video at church.

Thursday: It was the day after Christmas and we were looking rough...the girls and I did some errands and stopped at the library.  Then later we made some crunch peanut butter balls from Callie's new Harry Potter cookbook.

Later that afternoon we went back to Boom's house to see all the Johnson cousins.  There was more good food and delicious desserts.  And a different baby to snuggle- Baby Henry!

Friday: The day after the day after Christmas.  Chris was off work and told the girls that they could play our new Nintendo Switch right away in the morning since we hadn't gotten a chance to do that yet.  I think he regretted that when they both came down at 6:50am and relentlessly woke him up until he agreed to go play.  We then played some other games and had a nice relaxing day at home.

Later our college friends came over, which brought 4 more kids into the house and increased the volume and crazy factor by a lot.  But it was fun!

Lastly, I got to go hang out with Baby Mitchell tonight at G-ma and Pa's house tonight!  Baby snuggles for the win.

Have a great weekend!
