Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!  We had a super fun weekend that started on Saturday morning with a trio of haircuts (including Lucy's first cut!)...

...and a surprise visit from AUNTIE MARI!!! The girls were SO excited and shocked to see her.  They gave her lots of love and hugs!

Later there was more fun cousin time (and Luna time).

My mom got back from a week long vacation, so Mari continued her fun surprise weekend by coming with to pick up Mom from the airport yesterday afternoon!  And then we all had dinner and looked at her trip pictures together.

This morning the girls did some Luna smothering snuggling. Maya just lays on her and says "LUNA I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!" over and over and it is so cute and also ridiculous.

This afternoon I took the girls to a high school production of "Miss Nelson is Missing" and then we watched Dancing With the Stars and snuggled.

I'll leave you with some weird pictures that show up my phone because it is linked to one of the iPads where the weird pictures happen.

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday!  This was a big week.  On Monday Maya enjoyed some reading (she's getting really good!) and then they started a roller blading unit in PE.  I can't stop giggling at the pictures her teacher sent.

On Tuesday we went to vote as soon as I picked the girls up from school.  Check out Maya's two front teeth HANGING ON BY A THREAD.

It was Chris' mission to get those two teeth out that night, and Maya did her best to make it as difficult as possible.  After awhile she was able to get one out on her own, and then it took a lot of nagging and crying and ultimately Chris had to pull the second one out.

On Wednesday the girls helped G-ma bake pumpkin pie after school...

...and Callie got the news that she won the election for treasurer at their school!  She got on student council earlier this year, and then made the choice to run for treasurer.  She had to create a campaign poster and record a video that was shown to the whole school.  And she won!

"It just makes cents!" also makes me giggle.  Nerd humor, amiright?

So on Wednesday night we went out to dinner to celebrate her victory and Chris/Maya's victory over her two loose teeth.

Yesterday Maya played Mastermind with Pa after school.

And this morning she read Luna a book called "The Best Pet" and tonight wore a Quality Chick shirt for jammies, which only means something to you if you went to Luther or have ever lived in Decorah...which I have and must have bought that shirt for Callie MANY years ago.  Or maybe Auntie Mari did.  Anyway, Go Norse.

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up

It’s Sunday night already...and NOVEMBER! We had a really fun weekend.  On Saturday morning the girls and I took Luna out to run around and there was definitely snowy frost on the ground.

The big event of the weekend was Nana’s 90th birthday party!! It was so fun to see so many Gosselin cousins and their kids. We got a picture of about half of all Nana and Papa’s great-grandkids. We also got to meet Emma- the newest great-grandbaby (until Dan and Hanna’s baby arrives!!).

Happy birthday Nana! We love you and hope you have an amazing day tomorrow on your actual day!

This morning we got an “extra hour” and so we were busy. The girls did a great job making blueberry muffins with minimal help.

And a bit later it was chaos with an inflatable unicorn. ‘Tis the season for colds and coughs so we nebulized Maya since she started with a bit of a cough last night. Fingers crossed it doesn’t turn into a weeks-long saga like it has in years past.

This afternoon there was crafting and a very needy dog...

...and then Auntie Yoda and Lucy came over. Cal came with Laura and I to get pedicures while Chris and the little girls stayed at our house to play. Then we headed to Punch for a pizza dinner.

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

HOLY MOLY HALLOWEEN WEEK.

I didn't take many pictures the first half, so here's what I got from Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday:

Monday: Kitchen basketball (clothing optional, apparently)
Tuesday: Trick-or-treating at Lund's with G-ma and Pa
Wednesday: A pretty sunset sky
Thursday: Halloween!  Great Margie was in town so we had dinner and then she and Boom, Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles and Lucy came over for trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.

Between the dark and the girls running around, it was hard to get a good picture.

But overall it was very successful and the girls all got a nice haul.  Thankfully, their school asked for candy donations for the food shelf, so we are sending all our extra candy and some of the girls' stash to school with them on Monday!

Lucy LOVED that pumpkin mask!
There was no school in Bloomington today, so I took the morning off and we went to get flu shots at 7:45 am!  Hooray!  Then we played outside with Luna and they played all crazy inside too.  Thanks, Halloween.

They spent the afternoon with Pa, where they played games, went shopping, and got paid to do a couple chores (they are ALL ABOUT THAT these days).

Tonight we watched Dancing With the Stars and snuggled...

...and then played a family game of Upwords and Luna was NO help.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Halloween!

I love holidays like there when I get to go back in time on Timehop. I’ll start way back and zoom forward and the go WAY BACK and then end up with TODAY!

I can’t believe this is our 9th Halloween with little people to dress up. Well...maybe kind of the 10th.

Before that we had Kona, who celebrated at least a couple Halloweens as a MAD BEE.

And then, when we could coordinate with a baby, she was either a MAD BEE or a MAD BULL.

And then we could coordinate two little people and she was a MAD COW.

She really was a trooper.

We did a great job of coordinating the girls (and then Luna) up through last year.

Pirates and mermaids go together, right?

I have such fun memories of Halloween as a kid, because our family always went to a church Halloween party and dressed up as a unit.

Let me give you a bigger version of the bottom right (the ALIEN family) because it was EPIC.

This year wasn’t so coordinated between all three little beings, but at least Maya and Luna matched (well there was a happy unicorn and a MAD UNICORN).

Happy Halloween!
