Weekend Wrap-Up

So this happened this morning:

Get it together, MINNESOTA. It is only mid-October and we had a freaking blizzard in mid-April already this year.

Anyway.

Yesterday morning we had some chill time at Target and outside, and so much drawing inside.

The girls spent some time at Auntie Cat’s house in the afternoon, so Boom and I met up to get blue pedicures.

The big event of the day was the KIDZ BOP concert. Callie and I went with Jenna and Mabel. We went out to dinner first, and then headed to the theater!

And I got some video too, of course. The girls were pretty overwhelmed, but eventually they bopped a bit.

Here are a few video
clips!

This morning Callie was officially given a new Bible at church! And Auntie Yoda and I were there to give it to her, as a fulfillment of the Baptismal promise. During the sermon I wrote down a few my favorite verses for Callie to find and write out.

We came downtown for lunch and play time with Lucy!

Uncle Dan and Auntie Hanna stopped by tonight! The girls showed off their Halloween costumes and were generally nutty.

But Hanna and I matched!

Here are some videos from the weekend. Enjoy!

A Picture Update

It is Friday afternoon and I’m SPENT. I went on a field trip today. I hate field trips.

Anyway.

There are not very many pictures this week.

We had swimming lessons:

And a sleepy dad and doggy:

And our pretty tree in the sunshine (finally there was sunshine today!):

And ADORABLE SCHOOL PICTURES:

And finally, playtime in the yard, which you can see here!

Have a great weekend!

Parenting Wins

Callie came home a ball of sass and defiance.

So tonight consisted of these family experiences:

1) Overhearing her say “Siri how to say ‘You ruined my life’ in French?”

2) Callie stomping away while yelling about her hard life, then Maya subsequently turning up the charm and saying something adorable, then Callie yelling downstairs “MAYA STOP BEING CUTE.”

3) Having discussions about wanting later bedtimes whilst having major sassy attitudes that we attribute to BEING TIRED.

4) Me playing Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” loudly and Callie saying “OKAY I GET THE LESSON.”

I’ll take that as a Mom Win.

And as a bonus experience, I’ll go on to #5.

5) Getting a package delivery that happened to be Maya’s Halloween costume and her subsequently running around in her costume yelling “RAISE THE ROOF! RAISE THE ROOF!” and then learning she does that dance move at school.

Oh man and a bonus experience #6:

We all “overeyact” at times. I’ll call it another parenting win that she recognized it and apologized.

If only we can all be so self-aware and reflective.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! If you read my post on Friday, you know that we had a crazy busy weekend.

The girls slept over at G-ma and Pa’s house. G-ma picked them up from school (Maya made applesauce on Friday), they played with Shambles, and they had a yummy dinner with Auntie Cat! They also helped Pa fix the snowblower yesterday morning.

While the girls were busy over there, we were having fun at Nik’s wedding! There were a number of college friends there who we haven’t seen for years. The wedding was at Minnetonka Orchards. It was a little rainy during the ceremony, but the reception was in a big beautiful tent. It was great to catch up with everyone...on the dance floor!

The rode off on Nik’s motorcycle at the end of the night! It was a lovely wedding and we are so happy for Nik and Danielle!

Yesterday we went downtown in the afternoon because Auntie Mari is in town for the weekend!

And then...my mom and sisters and I had a lovely dinner (with Federalist wine) and went to HAMILTON.

It. Was. Amazing. I have been listening to the soundtrack nonstop for awhile now, so it was incredible to watch the music come to life. I’m so grateful we got tickets and it was a fun night out!

But needless to say after being out late three nights in a row, I’m pretty exhausted today. Thankfully we had nothing planned (except Sunday school), so we got some stuff done around the house and just relaxed. And Luna went on a good walk with Shambles! It’s a miracle!

I’ll leave you with some videos! Click

A Picture Update

Today our friend Nik gets married. We met him freshman year of college and he has been dear to us ever since. Chris is in the wedding.  I’ll probably cry a lot during the ceremony. So come back on Sunday for the wedding pictures.

As for the rest of the week...we had a rockin’ dance party on Monday and then a. And a revival on Wednesday. Click here!

Callie did homework and I needed wine.

Maya enjoyed the fog yesterday.

And then Callie took some pictures of her crazy little sister.

Yesterday I went to visit the premie of my friend and coworker, Kara, who had a surprise 5-week early delivery of her daughter, Elsbeth, on Saturday. She’s little but doing great and it was so fun to visit.

Yesterday evening we had the rehearsal and groom’s dinner for Nik’s wedding. Thanks to Boom and Yoda for babysitting. And Nik gave Chris an awesome beer mug.

Have a great weekend! Mine is going to be pretty epic. Besides the wedding fun. (Ahem...HAMILTON...Ahem!)
