A Picture Update

You guys.  I'm so tired.

This was a big week getting back into routines, starting new routines, figuring out how to get up and out in the morning and rushing to pick up in the afternoons.  And working all day.  And calming meltdowns at home.

School has gone so well for both girls this week (Maya has full days on Tuesdays and Fridays) but the evenings...they have fallen apart a little bit.  It's okay.  I was expecting it, and I know it is because we are in a period of transition and they are so tired too.

We had pizza and a movie night tonight, because I think that was all any of us could muster.

So here are the few pictures that we have from the week.

First up, first day of school pictures!

Before school
After school, right before tantrums started
Maya hung out at Boom's house on Wednesday.

I feel so lucky- both of the girls' teachers sent pictures from their first couple days at school.

To add to the chaos at home this week, we officially (finally) switched Maya to a real big girl bed, instead of the pack-n-play because her guardrails on the converted crib broke.  But luckily she has been so tired the past 2 nights that she has fallen asleep right away without too many shenanigans.

Mismatched bedding.  Poor 2nd child.
And finally, we still find time for Snapchat fun.

Have a great weekend.

A Picture Update

I'm at my mom's right now, so I'm phlogging today!

This has been quite a week. I started back at work and had teacher workshops. The girls had their last week of summer and got to hang out with Boom, G-ma and Pa. We had open houses to go meet Callie's 1st grade teacher (Mrs. Mo) and Maya's preschool teacher (Mrs. Lori, who Callie had).

So...here are some pics.

Fun with Boom:

Fun with G-ma and Pa:

Callie ran into kids from her school both yesterday with Pa at the library and another student from her kindergarten class at our library on Monday:

We had some fun snuggles and play time outside:

And of course, more snapchat action:

That face swap is seriously freaky.

Have a great Labor Day weekend! I'll be back on Monday night for the weekend wrap-up.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Here we go...last weekend of summer.

On Saturday we threw a super fun bridal shower for Laura Suurmeyer!  She and Zach are getting married in October and we can't wait for the wedding.

The girls spent Saturday hanging out with Auntie Cat, G-ma, and Pa.  Auntie Cat got them new water bottles for school, and they had fun doing dishes and washing them.

Today we went to lunch at Auntie Cat's and she and I made one of my blue Apron meals.  Maya did more dish washing (and jello eating), and Cal did more Snapchat.

Chris got Maya to take a nap!  And she made up for lost time from not napping much this week and slept over 2.5 hours.

We spent our final hours of summer at a splash pad and park because it was a beautiful night!  The girls had a lot of fun and it was nice to be outside and spending time as a family.

Teacher workshops start tomorrow, and we also have a conference with Maya's preschool teacher and an open house for Callie's first grade teacher.  It is going to be a busy week!

Summer Wrap-Up: #summer16cjml

Instagram is my go-to picture sharing app, and this summer I used it with the hashtag #summer16cjml.

I looked back over all the pictures I shared there, and it does a pretty great job of summing up the summer.

So I captured the thumbnails, each set in reverse chronological order (earliest bottom right to latest top left), and thought that would be the best way to sum up Summer 2016.

So here goes, #summer16cjml.

Bottom Right: 6/11- Top Left: 6/18

Bottom Right: 6/21- Top Left: 6/29

Bottom Right: 6/30- Top Left: 7/8

Bottom Right: 7/9- Top Left: 7/18

Bottom Right: 7/19- Top Left: 7/23
Bottom Right: 7/23- Top Left: 7/28
Bottom Right: 7/28- Top Left: 8/6

Bottom Right: 8/6- Top Left: 8/18

Bottom Right: 8/18- Top Left: 8/26

I think that about sums it up.  This summer has been awesome and challenging and happy and sad and I'm always very thankful to get these couple of months off to be with my girls.

On to teaching year #13!  Let's hope it's a lucky one!
