Merry Christmas!

We have had a wonderful couple of days with our families celebrating Christmas.  We were at the Henderson's all day yesterday and the Gosselin's all day today.  The whole birthday right before Christmas thing got a little overwhelming for me, but Callie handled it like a champ.  A very spoiled champ. :)

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  And if you are wondering where our Christmas card is this year, you'll have to wait a little longer.  We were not on the ball AT ALL so we'll be sending out a New Year's card. Hopefully. :)

Weekend Wrap-Up: The Birthday Parties Edition

We survived birthday weekend just in time to start a couple of days of Christmas chaos, followed by a trip to a tropical island.  Not bad, right?

On to the birthday festivities...it all began Friday night at the condo with both sides of our families.

Dinner with the grands and great grands

And then some more dinner with a couple aunties and Daddy

And then another auntie and Josh

Pink cupcakes for the purple princess

YUM
Look at all those presents!
It was such a fun evening!  Thanks to Boom and all our family members for making it an amazing party!

The actual birthday was on Saturday. We spent the morning giving Callie her presents from us and then at Grandma's with the crazy birthday girl.

I'm THREE!!!

More presents...holy moly

Late Saturday afternoon was another birthday party!  We rented a room at Choo Choo Bob's for playtime, dinner and cake with Charlie, Mabel, Calvin and Donald.  It was a great time!

We were all exhausted but thankful for a wonderful day.

We didn't have much planned for today, so we decided to check out the Macy's Elf Show this morning with Boom and Bops.

Checking out the snowman

Ready for Christmas!

Callie and Boom have been to the Elf Show SIX times this year!
The rest of the day was spent coming down from the birthday high...and the three-year-old had WAY more energy than either thirty-year-old in the house.  Whew.

Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful birthday wishes for our girl!  Have a very merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Callie Joy!

Three years ago today we were at the hospital at 6am waiting to be induced.  At 7:55pm this little bundle of Joy came into our world...

...and has been filling our lives with Joy ever since.

Horns QOTD

I haven't done a QOTD for awhile but a cute one came up in the car on the way home today.

Background Information
1) Callie and Boom go to music class together
2) We all call passing gas "tooters"

Callie: (listening to a horn section of orchestral Christmas music in the car) One time when Boom and I were listening to music, the horns sounded like tooters!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up: The Christmas Program Edition

It was a girls weekend.  Chris and his buddies went up north for some guy bonding time, so it was Cal and me.  Thankfully we were able to bop around to see Boom, Bops and Yoda and G-ma, G-pa and Auntie Cat throughout the weekend as well.  And last night we had a big girls night with the wives and children of the guys up north...we went to Alison's house and hung out with her, Baby Avery, Cherilyn, Sydney and Baby Kylie.  It was a little nuts and we were a good reminder to Alison to soak up the baby months because toddlerhood can be a beast. :)

The two seconds that the toddlers were calm all evening...yay cartoons!

The babies- Avery and Kylie

The best part of the weekend for me was the Sunday School Christmas Program.  The two-year-olds had a small part (two songs with the bigger kids!) and it was hilarious to watch them all NOT singing.  Callie seemed to be overwhelmed at first, but as you'll see below, got into each song a little bit by the end.  She might have been overwhelmed by the army of people who came to see her- Boom, Bops, Auntie Yoda, Craig, G-ma, G-pa and Auntie Cat.  What an awesome family!!!

Dressed up in her Christmas dress!

Leading the way!

Trying to figure out what is going on

Starting to get into it...

Not sure about this, but participating nonetheless.

Now Daddy is home and I'm officially off duty and heading out for a different kind of girls' night...one in which I can sit and chat quietly with my friend.  I loved being with my little girl this weekend, but now I need some "me" time.

Less than one week until a certain toddler's 3rd birthday and we still have a lot to do...it is going to be a busy week.
