Timehop Tuesday

Very grateful for the sun yesterday and today.

I’m always a bit surprised looking back at pictures from 5-6 years ago because Maya’s hair was so light!

Have a great Tuesday!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hi all!  Not much to report. Rules are getting lax, comfort food was made, it was cold and rainy outside, Boom played her flute for virtual church, and family FaceTimes occurred.

As I scroll through the Internet, I'm thoroughly enjoying all the new memes that are popping up.  I found these online and they all seem pretty accurate for how I feel at this point.

What actually is a weekend anymore?

I. Love. Musicals.

Any Schitt's Creek fans out there?  Im currently rewatching the series for the THIRD TIME.

I spent $66 on comfy pants that arrived this week and make me happy.

I’m on “spring break” this week while the girls “go back to school” online.  It should be interesting!

I’ll leave you with some video of our various quarantine activities. Click here to enjoy!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday!  It was the girls' "spring break" this week, and we continued to do our part to stay home (except to get outside on walks!).  Chris and I both still worked from home this week and we continued to adjust to all being home all the time while trying to get stuff done.  It is a struggle that many people are going through...

So here's Monday.  We woke up to snow, got puzzles from Boom in the mail, and then there was a pretty sunset.

On Tuesday there were puzzles and MouseTrap, also from Boom!

On Wednesday it was a bit of a mid-week meltdown and then rain.  But there was also some virtual playdates and lots of jumping jacks.

On Thursday Maya played virtual Mastermind with Pa, and I put together a little desk (with some help) for this distance teaching thing.

Today was beautiful! It felt so good to get outside.

This afternoon Cal and I met Pa and G-ma at 9 Mile Creek for some more sunshine.

Have a great weekend (that will likely be very similar to your week)!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Ok so three things I'm grateful for from this weekend (since practicing gratitude during a hard time is a worthwhile discipline):

1) Going outside- I got almost 18,000 steps in today because with so much free time I don't mind spending my time running and walking multiple times a day.  I can't wait to get my weekly Fitbit results and see how many more steps I have this week than last week.  It's going to be hilarious. Self isolation has done wonders for my activity levels.

2) Family time- though the reason I go outside so often is so my introverted self can be alone, I'm also very thankful that the four of us (with Luna too) have had so much together time (ask me again in a week how I feel about family time...HA).

3) Wine time.  Enough said.

Here are some snapshots of yesterday: Luna "helped" me exercise, the girls played legos and went to the park and played outside, and we watched three episodes of Master Chef Junior in a row (with popcorn).

Today I took Luna on a sunrise walk and the girls had virtual playdates with the Held girls.

And then there was just a lot of craziness under a table fort and blankets.

And we went on a "social distance" walk with G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna and Mitchell...and the doggies.

Tomorrow the girls are on "spring break" while Chris and I both have to still work full time, so it's going to be interesting!  Wish us luck!

A Picture Update

Well hi everyone.  It is Friday, right?  It is hard to tell these days.

We are in social distancing mode.  We are hunkering down at home, with some outdoor breaks as we can.  Chris and I have made a few random trips to stores, but that has been it.

This stuff is all scary and unnerving and my anxiety is a bit high over the whole uncertainty of it all.  But I keep telling myself ONE DAY AT A TIME.

So here we go...a look at our week.

Monday was my last day to go in to work.  Chris was home with the girls, and they also went over to G-ma and Pa's for the last time in who knows how long.  On my way home I stocked up on necessities, and then we just accepted that immediate family member social distancing was just not a thing. ;)

One of the positives of this way of living (i.e. stuck at home and also working) is that I have a more flexible schedule.  I started out Tuesday with a sunrise run.

And then we started our first day at home with two working parents and two kids to keep entertained. The girls and I created BINGO boards of different activities for them to complete (i.e. read 20 minutes, dance party, Legos 20 minutes, baking something, outdoor break, do 1 chore, etc).  So that kept them mostly busy.  We also did a Google hangout with Boom and Auntie Mari!

During my run on Wednesday I came across this on the sidewalk. Then there were more BINGO activities like Harry Potter yoga and more outdoor time.  And we FaceTimed with Mitchell and Hanna!

Thursday was more of the same, with the added excitement of all the birthdays.  The girls set up their desks out in the play room, made brownies, totally destroyed the playroom, did some pushups, and Luna was high maintenance (but cute).

After our workday we did the birthday celebration.

And then went out to play in the rain...followed by FaceTiming, Boom, Auntie Mari, and Auntie Yoda, Lucy, Mila and Uncle Craigles for a "virtual" birthday party.

This morning I did some major bribery to get the girls to clean upstairs.  It is always quite the ordeal, and didn't really go anywhere because neither of them are capable of cleaning without losing their minds.  So...we'll have to work on that. Other things we did: hang out with Luna, sanitize, outdoor “recess” at a distance with the neighbors, and a virtual birthday party with G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna and Mitchell!

I'll leave you with some videos of the girls doing read alouds (one of their BINGO activities).  Click here for Cal's story and click here for Maya's story.

Stay safe, stay home and wash your hands this weekend!

So Many Birthdays!!

Ok so we are social distancing but we did have 3 birthdays to celebrate.

Happy birthday to Daddy!

And happy birthday to Uncle Dan (from afar), a fun guy to play video games with (and a guy I don’t have many pictures of!)

And happy birthday Auntie Yoda (from afar), a fun gal of whose children I have many more pics on my phone than herself!

What a day!!

Timehop Tuesday

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everybody!

We are one day into our voluntary social isolation and we’re happy to have something to celebrate! Of course, we were wearing green for Nana!

And here are all our Timehops!

And I’ll leave you with an inside look at my anxiety brain.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey everybody. Are we all doing ok? Is everything just pretty much all bonkers? YES.

Sooooo...the next few weeks are going to be spent mostly at home. Chris is working from home. I go in tomorrow and then will be working from home starting Tuesday. The girls are off starting tomorrow, with distance learning starting on Wednesday.

I’m grateful for a home to be at, flexible jobs that allow working from home, a fully stocked fridge and pantry, and the ability to keep our kids happy, healthy (hopefully), and safe.

Here’s what I got for the weekend pics:

Saturday: playing, tree climbing, reading, Frozen II on Disney+

Today: family time and seeing Laura and Craig’s house progress

I’ll leave you with this quote from church... my mom and I streamed the worship service together this morning (from the couch)!

“Where there is gratitude, hope shows up.” ~Pastor Mary

Take care. Stay safe. Wash hands. Maybe drink wine?

And practice gratitude.

A Picture Update

I don’t even know what to say about this week.  Here are a couple of internet things I found and saved because laughter seems like the best course of action at this point:

Ok I’m done now.

My school and the girls’ school are making plans for possible distance learning in the near future. Chris is able to work from home. I just ordered some Lego sets from Target in case we all find ourselves stuck at home for a long period of time.

The unknown is a bit scary and crazy and unsettling. Hopefully in a not so long amount of time we will look back in this whole ordeal and just shake our heads.

But anyway, I didn’t get too many pictures this week. The girls were off school on Monday and had a fun day with G-ma and Pa.

And they had spring picture day on Wednesday so G-Ma did their hair all nice and fancy.

They played “Blanket Hunters” in our bed with Luna.

And I sanitized all the things in our house.

Tonight we watched some episodes of Master Chef Junior to just relax and escape a bit.

Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Timehop Tuesday

These girls have goofy faces!

Maya’s mood in the stroller is my mood this week with a full moon, Mercury in Retrograde, the upcoming Friday the 13th, and still 3 weeks out from spring break. HA!
