Timehop Tuesday: The Halloween Edition!

Happy Halloween from our pirate and mermaid.

This year Maya is wearing the big girl version of the matching mermaids costumes from 4 years ago.

And of course, Timehops from all past Halloween’s (with children).

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Ok...how about one more pic from before (just) kids??

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey everybody!  It’s already Sunday, and it is already the end of October. To be honest, I hate the end of October. The seasons are changing, the end of 1st quarter is happening at school so students and teachers are stressed, my children are bonkers, and I’m just crabby. There was some meltdowns this weekend that I’d like to forget, but we also had some fun.

Maya and I were at Target by 7:30am yesterday morning, and I noticed how skinny the cereal aisle has become. Maya didn’t seem to mind, as she just tries to be as goofy and challenging as possible 24/7.

It was Halloween costume day at dance class! It is one of my favorite classes because everyone is always soooooooo creative!

Here’s a little video too.

Yesterday afternoon we had game time at G-ma and Pa’s house with G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, and Hanna! Highlights included Apples to Apples Jr., reading poems from “Where the Sidewalk Ends,” and playing catch-the-styrofoam-block-in-the-butterfly-net with Uncle Dan.

Today after church we went to Boom’s house to hang out with her and Iris. Auntie Yoda and Baby Lucy stopped by for a bit too! The girls found snow out on our walk, and relished the idea of hitting me with snowballs.

We also got the first annual picture of the cousins in their Halloween coatumes.  Maya continued to be a stinker.

The rest of the afternoon was marked by a massive meltdown at the library (guess who?) and then some much needed quiet time for me. Halloween week is coming...🎃👻☠️👹😱

A Picture Update

Happy Friday!!! The big news of the week is that Boom got a dog!!! Yesterday she adopted a 2-year-old greyhound and named her Iris Cecile.

She’s the sweetest. We went to meet her tonight and got lots of love and kisses.

The girls are SO excited and have both declared Iris their new best friend.

As for the rest of the week...Maya and Lucy helped Boom prepare for getting a dog on Monday.

On Monday night we had a footie jammie freeze dance party. With spooky pumpkins.

G-ma and Pa took the girls to Lund’s for the Halloween party on Tuesday night.

And they had the girls on Wednesday and Thursday too.

We did some Snapchats last night.

Today it freaking snowed. I’m so not ready for winter, but Maya was pretty excited about it.

And tonight we got some Lucy time while downtown meeting Iris.

Have a great weekend. I’ll leave you with cute babies in bibs.

Timehop Tuesday

Hola! I’ll start with what may be one of my most ever favorite Timehops, which I posted a year ago.

Sigh...when the baby grows into the big kid’s shirt.

And then, toddlers and babies, cousins edition!

Eeeeeeeek!!

51-Months-Old!!

This one.

Whenever I talk about her with someone else who knows her, we inevitably start giggling because she is such a goof.

And those that don’t know her well just think she is the cutest thing ever (mostly because she doesn’t really speak, and instead gives a smirky little smile).

I think it is safe to say we are all balancing the desire for her to stay our baby but also the desire for her to just stop with the 4-year-old drama nonsense. Ok, that just might be me projecting on everyone else.

Anyway. She has been around for 51 months now and we love her to pieces.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Oh man you guys. This weekend...our children...chose at times to be the most obnoxious versions of themselves. And other times were the absolute most adorable versions of themselves. That’s parenting, I guess.

Saturday:

Callie had an awesome sleepover at Boom’s House on Friday night/Saturday morning!

I got to spend a bit of time with Lucy Saturday morning.

And then we took church directory pictures, which have a pretty good chance of being slightly hilarious and pretty cute.

We went to Boom’s house to play with Lucy.

We wanted to get a cute pic of the three girls, so here are a few outtakes.

And then...then money shot!!!

Today: I took the girls to “My Little Pony.” It was terrible (but they liked it).

And then we went to have S’mores at Auntie Cat’s house!

And just like that, MEA is over. Here is some Lucy eating foods video with some pretty fall scenes from my morning run.

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Hello! Happy Friday!

It is MEA weekend and it is has BEAUTIFUL outside this week. We have been busy. But first, four years ago (if you add up the numbers from the Timehop labels) Maya was baptized! It’s crazy to think that Maya is now about the same age or older than Callie was when Maya was a baby. Time. Flies. And God Bless Maya Leigh!

On to our week. I enjoy getting the Monday pictures from Boom SO much. Look at all the cuteness!!

On Monday evening Callie and I (and her giraffe) played a fun game of Apples to Apples.

I had the morning off on Tuesday, so I enjoyed the fall colors during a run and made my mom’s potato corn chowder. I have enjoyed eating it all week, and still have a lot of it since my family refuses to eat it with me. Weirdos.

Callie was off so G-ma has both girls on Wednesday and boy did they have fun!

On Wednesday afternoon we piled into the hammock to enjoy my start of MEA break.

Wednesday night we had Callie’s conference with her teacher. She is doing great at school, and was proud to show us this that is hanging outside her classroom. I’m proud that we have raised a passionate little Lynx fan.

We started out Thursday with flu shots and then a morning of LEGO building and an afternoon at Boom’s house.

Mom and I went to an insprirational show on Thursday night. It was about story telling and loving our neighbors and figuring out our purpose and doing good in the world.

Maya decided that waking up at 5:30am the two mornings of MEA so far is a great use of her time. That is after me needing to wake her up after 7am the first three mornings of the week to get out of the house on time. And then my Fitbit gave me those “Sleep Insights” and I realize the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I have always been a morning person but this is getting ridiculous.

Anyway, Chris took today off so we could have some family fun, but our non-sleeper had other plans.

It may look like we enjoyed the park and the lake, but what these pictures don’t show is Maya going up the playground ropes and then crying and refusing to let Callie help her down so I had to go up there and coax her out. And then they don’t show her (fake) crying while holding Chris’ hand walking out onto the dock. And then falling asleep in the car at 11am on the way home because we couldn’t risk lunch out in public.

Four-year-olds. Uffda.

Later she pulled herself together enough to play in the leaves and 77 degree weather!

So now Callie is sleeping over at Boom’s, Maya is having quiet time, Chris is at a golf store, and I finally showered at 3pm and am already in my jammies.

We are taking church directory pictures tomorrow and I’m already nervous how our dear 4-year-old is going to behave for them. Wish us luck!!

Have a great weekend!

Updated: This video exemplifies why I am nervous for pictures tomorrow. What started as a sweet time reading quickly devolved into chaos. And some toots.

Timehop Tuesday!

First up: Cal loves her some caramel apples!

And Maya is now wearing that pink Adorable sweatshirt!

And Maya in hats. Less cheeks now.

Lastly, family pictures.
