Halloween 2020

Well, this Halloween is a bit (a lot) roiled with underlying anxiety, panic and doom. However, we are rolling with it! Isn’t that a positive outlook????

As you know, I take these funny little holidays as an opportunity to go back in time. So here are the past 11 years of BABYGOOSE HALLOWEEN. I included pictures of those we celebrated with each year, as well. Some years pictures were a plenty. Other years we may have been in survival mode (i.e. Maya’s first Halloween!). Enjoy!

And today! We have a Huntress, a Mermaid, and a MAD DONUT.

Happy Halloween! 🎃

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday morning the girls noticed the beautiful sunrise outside our window, and we did a FaceTime with Mitchell!

The girls did Zoom dance and then spent the afternoon at Auntie Cat’s before coming home and having some snuggly Luna time. And being butterflies. And they made Luna a donut.

This morning we went to Hs g out with Boom, Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles, Lucy and Mila!

And on our way home we got gas and happened to see the famous neighborhood turkey, Penny. He is always around the intersection near our house and I avoid him at all costs when I’m out running because I have seen him flow and harass people before. But from the car, he was was fine.

We went out for an outdoor (snowy) adventure later this afternoon with G-ma, Pa, and Auntie Cat!

Weekend Wrap-Up: The Grand Superior Lodge Edition!

Hey everybody!  We had a FANTASTIC family weekend up north at Grand Superior Lodge with G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna and Mitchell!

We headed out Friday morning in three cars.  Somehow I got lucky enough to sit next to this little dude!  We stopped at a rest stop for donuts and then a little sandwich shop for lunch on the way.

Before checking in to our cabin, we went to Iona's Beach for a lovely (and a bit chilly) first hike of the weekend.

There was rock climbing...

...lovely lake views, rock throwing...

...digging for "golden" rocks...

...laying under rocks, skipping rocks, playing with babies, and lots of great family time.

It was such a great way to start the trip!

Then we headed to our cabin and settled in.  Maya made up her little hideout/sleeping area (same room as the shower, no biggie), we played Apples to Apples, explored a bit outside the cabin, and ate Auntie Cat's DELICIOUS enchiladas for dinner! Mitchell very much approved.

After the kids went to bed, a few of us went down by the lake to look at Jupiter and Saturn through Chris' telescope.

Three happy kids (and many happy adults) woke up on Saturday morning.  G-ma and Pa made us their famous big family breakfast!

And guess what, it was SNOWING!

After breakfast we headed to Split Rock for another chilly/snowy/wet hike.  We had the place to ourselves, which was pretty awesome. Mitchell was a rockstar napper and slept through it in the baby backpack.

There were descending stairs, pretty views, more rock throwing, rock tower building, and hiking back up those stairs.

When we got back to the cabin, Maya and Mitchell had a little snuggle time, and then I took the girls swimming.  The water was pretty chilly so the girls enjoyed the jacuzzi tub back in the cabin.

Then we played games and relaxed for the afternoon.

A bit later, some of us girls went down by the lake again and wandered around the resort. We also made a stop at the gift shop to get matching Auntie sweatshirts.  And then we watched the old classic "Mighty Ducks" during a homemade pizza dinner!

This morning the sunrise was AMAZING.  As you can see, there were lots of pictures taken of it!

We spent our last morning eating leftover breakfast, packing, and doing lots of playing!

After checking out, we went to Silver Creek for another little hike.

And on our way out of town we drove up Seven Bridges road in Duluth for a last look at the lake.  And then I got to see this cute little face all the way home.

It was a whirlwind weekend and so much fun to travel north to take in the beauty of fall (winter?) in Minnesota.

And I'm so grateful for the amazing family we enjoyed the whole experience with!
