Weekend Wrap-Up: Feliz Cumpleanos Tia Cathleen!

Today is Auntie Cathleen's birthday!!!!  Happy Birthday!!!!!  We love you!!!
This weekend has been ridiculously fun. After music class on Friday, Jenna and I packed Callie and Charlie (and all their stuff!)  into their car and headed to Duluth.  Chris and Andy joined us a little bit later and we had a blast at Edgewater (a water park resort), eating yummy Mexican food, and exploring Duluth.  And what was even better was that we got both kids down by 9:30 or so, so we had a few hours of adult time- playing cards and drinking wine.  We got a double room suite, so we put each kid down in a separate room.  Then, after they were both for sure asleep, Andy stealthily rolled Charlie's pack-n-play into our room so we could hang out in their room instead of all 4 of us being stuck on the little balcony we had been on for awhile. SO MUCH FUN!
Ready to go! (And ready for naps!)

WATER!!!
One of the many water slides!

Hungry for some queso dip.

Couldn't resist double toddler bath time...too stinkin' cute

Duluth!
And, all Callie wanted to do in Lake Superior was throw rocks around.

After a whirlwind 24 hours up north, we got back to the cities to pick up Kona from Grandma and Grandpa's house.  The sprinkler was on, which led to some more water fun.  In a onesie.

Not quite brave enough...yet...

Getting braver...

Forget the sprinkler, bring on the hose!

Today was relatively low-key.  Tonight we went to dinner and to see Auntie Mari's new apartment.  Here is a tour.

18 Month Pictures

A few weeks ago, our friend Nik took a new round of pictures for us.  The day we planned to take the pictures happened to be the day that Callie developed the lovely disease with mouth sores so he had his work cut out for him in the photoshop department.  I'm happy (and thankful!) to say they turned out awesome!  Thanks, Nik!!!!  We had a lot of fun walking around downtown by the condo and finding fun places to use for the pictures.

Here are a few of my favorites, and a link to the rest.

And more can be found on our shutterfly site.

Enjoy!

The End of July

August is in sight and I'm in denial.  That's all I'm going to say about that.  We had a SUPER busy week.  It was nice after having a couple of weeks feeling kind of quarantined.  So here goes...

Swimming at my mom's friend JoAnn's house:
Playing the outdoor piano:
How cool is our city?
P.A. Mom's group at Sealife Adventures:
Zak and Callie with the sealife
Titanic "I'm Flying!" scene reenactment- FAIL- with Auntie Mari:
Meeting my friend Jess' 3-week-old baby Maddy:
So excited to see the baby!
Playing at the splash pad and riding the monorail at the zoo with Calvin:

To top the week off, I did a 5 mile run yesterday WITH Callie in the jogging stroller, and a 5.5 mile run today SANS stroller.  I'm T.I.R.E.D.  But soaking up every single second of this amazing summer.

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a FUN weekend!  Angie, Jason and Reese stayed with us and it was a blast having them here.  We kept them very busy.

Friday
Callie and Reese got along immediately and had fun playing together.  I went to the Twins game with them while Chris was on Callie bedtime duty.

Sunday
We said bye to our visitors after a quick trip to Ikea.  We then went to Grandma and Grandpa's for nap and game time.  Unfortunately, the nap was 45 minutes, tops.  But Cal got some good Auntie Cathleen time.  We also turned her carseat around, which she was SO happy about!  Her legs have gotten really squished sitting backwards, so we decided it was time.

Then we went to walk around Centennial Lakes with Andy, Beth, Donald and Sasha.  Finally, Auntie Mari and MorMor came over and brought dinner while Daddy and Bops went golfing.
Relaxing with Auntie Cat

So happy!

We have a busy week ahead...summer needs to S...L...O...W...D...O...W...N.  Seriously.

19 Months Old!

Another 22nd has rolled around.  Unbelievable.  Callie is at the age now where she can sometimes look like such a big girl:

And sometimes she can look like such a baby still:
So much fun!

Yesterday we went to Como Conservatory and Como Town with my mom.  We got to see some beautiful flowers and ride a couple of rides.  And we got an ice cream treat, too.

We're very excited for this weekend because our dear college friend Angie, her husband Jason and their two- and-a-half-year-old Reese are coming to visit!!!!

Children's Museum

We're trying to beat the heat (along with a bazillion other people apparently) and went to the Children's Museum this morning with the P.A. Mom's group.  It was crowded but we were able to find a couple of rooms that weren't too crazy so Callie got some good playing in.

Storytime!

And now, a certain little toddler is napping...2.5 hours and still going...
