A Picture Update

Hooray for Friday!!! And hooray for babies!!!!! What I’m sure you are all excited for is BABY MILA PICTURES, so here you go! We were able to go visit them after work today and had so much fun! We FaceTimed Auntie Mari, played and ate dinner...it was such a happy chaos.

As for the rest of the week...Maya got sealants and the girls played nice for others (not for us though...Uffda...lots of fighting this week!).

Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna and Baby Mitchell came over last night for some dinner and Nintendo Switch playtime.

Today Callie got an award at school for being respectful. Unfortunately Chris and I both had crazy days at work, but we were able to send some awesome people to be there for her!

And I’ll leave you with one more adorable picture of Baby Mila.

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up

It’s Sunday night already! Not sure how that happens so fast every time.

First up, no baby yet!

Second up, my brain is just horribly bamboozled by the news these days and it is hard figuring out how to be a functional human sometimes.  Shocking and sad things seem to bring on a bit of what I am guessing is some (self-diagnosed) PTSD...and every time a new year starts, it also means we are in the slow slog to April 30th.  And this year it is coming up on FIVE YEARS since losing my dad and I just can't wrap my brain around that either.

Being smack in the middle of winter also doesn't help, though my children don't seem to mind. Yesterday morning the girls spent time out in the snow building a fort.

All this to say, human-ing is hard but it is also a good time to remind myself (and all of you, if you need it) to practice mindfulness, self-care, and the discipline of gratitude.  There is so much to be grateful for and it is important to not get lost in all the other things that are hard.

Continuing on to yesterday after the snow play...the rest of the day was spent at dance class, cleaning, running errands, playing with a neighbor boy and an afternoon happy hour with Jenna (for me). And I didn't get pictures of any of it.

Then I spent the night at my mom’s with Lucy last night in case the baby came overnight. No such luck, but we had fun playing last night and this morning!

This afternoon I spent some one-on-two time with Maya and Luna, and they are always snuggling or being weird together.

I don't even know what to say about the bottom left picture besides it somehow happened naturally.

Chris took Callie skiing again this afternoon, and she continues to love it.  They did bigger hills this time that required them to go up the chair lift! Click here for a quick video of her going down the hill.

I'll leave you with this: Yesterday as the girls were upstairs playing, I heard Callie say "This is HASHTAG FIERCE AND SMART" about something she created and I thought that was a pretty cool way to describe yourself and your creativity.

And then today I saw this...which reminded me why we can't have nice things, even though the little people in our house are full of "HASHTAG fierce (or the more inventive spelling "FIRECE) and smart" creativity...

Good luck out there this week.  I hope you can be fierce and smart and kind and empathetic and understanding and patient and generous and grateful like I hope to be.

A Picture Update

Happy Friday all. This might be the most pathetic Friday post ever. These are all my pictures from the week and more than half of them came from G-ma. Chris blow-dryed hair, the girls hung out at G-ma and Pa’s and outside, and we played some Nintendo.

Have a great weekend! Also...the new cousin baby watch continues... :)

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Monday!

Callie learned a lot about MLK Jr. at school this week and has been passionately sharing the information with us and doing more research. I’m proud of her curiosity and empathy. And grateful to have a day off to commemorate his impact on our country.

This weekend was lovely. On Saturday we didn’t do much. There was play time in the snow and a Frozen II song-a-long (in which I was one of the only people in the theater actually singing along).

Yesterday after church we headed to Boom’s house for lunch and to play games.

Last night G-ma, Pa, Auntie Hanna, Uncle Dan, Baby Mitchell, and Auntie Cat came over for dinner.

G-ma and Pa just returned from a week long cruise so it was fun to see their pictures and hear their stories!

This morning the girls and I headed to Boom’s house and played with Lucy.

And then we had some afternoon entertainment via a car wash and dental appointments. Fun times!

Finally, click here for some cousin hide-and-seek fun!

The wait for the next baby cousin is ON! Laura’s due date is tomorrow.  Wooooohoooooo can’t wait!

A Picture Update

It's Friday and a long weekend and I couldn't be more grateful.  It has been A WEEK.

On Monday the girls and I took Luna on a winter adventure.

On Tuesday I took Luna for a sunset romp and then Maya and I went for a treat while Cal was a dance.

On Wednesday I took the afternoon off and went to visit Hanna, Mitchell and Shambles.  Later Chris and Maya read together.

Yesterday morning at 5am I walked Luna and IT WAS SO COLD.

Today, with the impending snow storm, we all got home early and went out in the snow. Later on we had a movie night. And Luna was high maintenance, as per usual.

Have a great weekend!  I'll be back on with the wrap-up on Monday night!

Weekend Wrap-Up: Happy Birthday G-ma!

First up...HAPPY BIRTHDAY G-MA!! Here’s an early a Timehop to celebrate. Hope you have a wonderful day!

This weekend was easy breezy. Yesterday there was some shoe shopping, STEM projects, Luna time and vegetable curry making. The girls and Chris went over to friends’ house for the Vikings game and I got a long and lovely afternoon to myself.

Today after church we headed to Boom’s house and played with Lucy!

Her baby sister is due this month...and we are all very excited.

This afternoon Chris took Callie skiing for the first time! Fourth graders can apply to get a free ski pass, so he applied a couple weeks ago and they went today.  She LOVED it!

While they were doing that, Maya, Luna and I had a winter adventure as well.

Have a lovely week!

A Picture Update

TGIF!

I didn’t take many pictures this week. Here’s what I got, and half of them were taken by others: A little bit of Baby Mitchell, a little bit of crazy Luna, a little bit of games with Pa!

Tonight we had a Gosselin family dinner! We had made arrangements for G-ma to pick up the girls from school but I left work a little early so I passed her leaving for pickup while I was getting to their house. So she told me to go get wine. So I did! And then a bit later I got this cute picture.

We had a fun and crazy family night!

And we got our first whole group picture with Mitchell (minus Shambles)!

And we had to do a goofy one too, of course!

Poor Luna is just sitting there wondering why she has to deal with all these crazy humans.

I’ll leave you with something that I found online and made me laugh out loud because it is 100% me and Chris’ personalities and what would happen if we were split up on a plane.

Chris has been in SO MANY weddings. LOL.

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday Folks.

Here are a few pics I forgot to post from Friday.  We found a giant snow hill (thanks to plows) behind our house. They did not seem to care that they didn't have snow pants on.

On Saturday we went over to to Boom's house for one last hurrah with Mari and Josh.  Lucy wore the Olaf hat I found in our winter gear bin and I couldn't stop taking pictures of her cute head.

Then we all went to lunch!

The girls had a sleepover with G-ma and Pa last night so Chris and I could go to my staff holiday party.

On the way home we got ice cream.

Today we went over to our friends Josh and Alison’s house for the Vikings game. Chris juggled apples, the kids played a lot of weird games that looked like just lying down and the Vikings pulled out the win in OT!

Tonight we played some Mario Party before bed. The girls are both not excited to go back to school tomorrow (and I am feeling similarly if I’m honest) but it was a good distraction for all of us.

I’ll leave you with some videos from the weekend. The first few minutes were the girls taking videos on their own during quiet time and they are a bit hilarious...click here!

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Ugh it is Friday already!  These two weeks have flown by but also Christmas seems like FOREVER ago.  So here is what we were up to this week.

Monday: One of the neighbor boys came over in the morning.

Then we played in the snow and played games (with no help from Luna).

Tuesday: We met Boom and Auntie Mari for lunch!

Then Cal made Rock Cakes from her Harry Potter cookbook. She is really getting in to baking.

Dan, Hanna and Mitchell came over for New Years Eve!

And Shambles too!

We played games, including Mario Party, which was HILARIOUS. Hanna and I had fun giggling and I snuggled sweet little Mitchell.

Mitchell was awake after his feeding so we got some good pictures of the cousins!

Then it was time for more games- UNO! And around 8:15pm we did the countdown and threw confetti.

Wednesday: 2020 started out with a beautiful sky!

We spent New Years over at G-ma and Pa's house with them and Auntie Cat.  We did more playing games and playing in the snow.

Thursday: I didn't do a good job of taking pictures yesterday.  The girls wanted to try out the treadmill in the morning.

And later we went to lunch with Boom, G-ma, Auntie Mari, and Auntie Cat and then the girls went to hang out at Chris' office so we could go see "Little Women."  It was SO GOOD.  But I didn't get any photographic evidence.

Friday: We went over to see Boom and Auntie Mari this morning and went sledding!

And then Boom made cheese art for lunch.

Click here for some video of our shenanigans from the past week.

Have a great weekend!
