Merry Christmas! A Picture Update

Hello! Merry Christmas!

It has been quite a week. Here is the rundown:

On Monday the girls got haircuts and there was much birthday anticipation/decoration.

Tuesday was the big 11th birthday.  If you missed my birthday wrap-up post, click here to see all the birthday shenanigans.

On Wednesday Luna was finally cleared to run with me (so we got it in before the snowstorm) and the girls did lots of playing. Also, all the running wore Luna out! 

Thursday was Christmas Eve Day! We opened our family gifts in the morning. 

If you zoom in on the bottom left photo, yes, you see Luna face masks.

We went to Boom’s for a bit in the afternoon to open the presents from her (complete with handpainted wrapping paper!).

Back at home we had more playtime.  And Chris and I were introduced to our "granddaughter" Emma.  

That evening we had our family Zoom #1 and more playing (also we picked up Indian food takeout).

Lastly, there was Santa preparations before bed.


...and then Santa came!

There were a familiar faces during Silent Night on Zoom church (I didn't actually stay awake for the 10pm online service, but watched it at 5:30am this morning and grabbed this sweet screenshot).

This morning Santa came.  Yay for Santa! And then there was just so much more playing.  

We had our next family Zoom, complete with breakfast (thanks to Auntie Hanna for the delicious monkey bread and Auntie Cat for the yummy fruit and ham and Chris for the amazing Eggs Benedict, as per usual).

Then there was gift opening!



Auntie Cat had the girls guess their gift...drive through Zoo lights tickets for Sunday! 

We really did have a lovely Christmas, despite everything going on in the world.  But I'll be honest an say that it was really hard and sad to have to do Zoom with the family.  I really missed seeing the cousins together.  Like really really really missed that.  But. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and this season is all about hope and knowing that the light shines in the darkness and the darkness does not over come it.

As you saw earlier, we were asked to send in photos of each of us holding a candle that was shown during Silent Night at the 10pm church service on Christmas Eve.  Here are our pictures:
