Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!

We had a fun weekend. Yesterday was our home visit to deem whether we would be good dog owners. A lady came with her white Boxer to check us out. We passed! Then we had dance and lunch with Boom.

Yesterday afternoon we went to my coworker Jillian's wedding. The girls had fun despite it being cold and rainy. Though it took Maya some time to let loose... she napped in the car on the way there, and waking her up never goes well.

There was a big crowd from my school there to celebrate with Jillian. And the girls were excited to see a pretty bride up close and in real life. And of course, CUPCAKES.

Today G-ma and Pa took the girls to a fall festival.

Later we met Boom at Lake Harriet.

Have a great week! It’s MEA week in these parts, so a long 4 day weekend is on the horizon!!

A Picture Update

You guys. It is Friday.

On Monday Maya hung out with Boom and Lucy.

On Tuesday we had Mom's Night at Preschool.

And then we enjoyed the beautiful sky.

Maya hung out with G-ma on Wednesday.

Last night my mom, sisters and I went out to dinner and then to a craft night.

I made coasters, Laura made a little purse, and Mom and Mari made geography art!

Today we stopped by the park after school.

And now we have been furiously cleaning because we have a home visit in the morning...the dog search process is beginning!!

Have a great weekend!

Timehop Tuesday

Hello! Here are my Timehops today. They are both of Miss Cal.

1. A year ago yesterday Callie lost a tooth (I don't think it was her first, but it was one of the first few). As of today, she has lost 8, and her big girl teeth keep growing in!

2. Callie's crazy slide hair.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!

Our weekend was lovely. Maya's bedhead was fantastic yesterday morning, and then was transformed for dance class.

After dance we went to pick up Boom, Auntie Yoda and Lucy to head to the apple orchard. The car ride there put a certain 4-year-old to sleep. Why you ask? She was wide awake well before 6am.

Anyway. We met the Johnsons at the orchard and had a lovely time: wagon ride, treats, and playing with Lucy.

Later we hung out at Boom's house with Uncle Craigles, too.

Lucy and I were coordinated with the kitchen backsplash. And there were too many cute pictures to choose just one to share.

Today was beautiful outside!!! The hammock was well used throughout the day

The girls went for an outdoor adventure with G-ma, Pa, and Auntie Cat!

After the got back, we played outside and in our tree. And more goofy hammock time.

If you have four and a half minutes to spare, feel free to watch this video. It is just 4.5 minutes of pure chaos and comedy in the backyard.

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Holy Moly it's Friday.

I don't have a lot of pictures this week, but here's what I got.

Monday with Boom and Lucy.

Wednesday at Bible class- helping clean up!

And some videos: Maya at the library.

And Maya helping me with my workout.

So...this is all about Maya so far. The only Callie pic I have from this week is her 2nd grade school picture. Which. Is. Adorable.

Have a great weekend!

The Amazing Minnesota Lynx!

Guess who the 2017 WNBA CHAMPIONS are???

Oh that's right!!!!!! It is the LYNX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They beat LA in an unbelievable game 5 tonight. I let Callie stay up late to watch the first quarter with me.

And after the third quarter I put on my game 2 shirt.

Chris got home just in time to watch them dominate, then crumble a little, and then fight their way back to become CHAMPIONS.

Mom and Mari were at the game and were shown on TV!

This was a much needed boost of positivity during a rough week. I'm so happy for our team.

Another boost of positivity came in the mail from from Amazon, a couple hours before the game started. I had ordered myself some underwear (sorry, random I know but hang in there with me), and when I opened up the pack of 5, one pair had this tag on it:

Baffling, right? An underwear tag about sunshine?

If you have been following this blog the past 2+ years you know how important sunshine is to me. So I texted my mom and sisters the picture of the tag (we were all nervous for the game) and said that it HAD to be a good sign.

It was. The Lynx players played hard and strong and fierce. And their story of overcoming adversity and fighting through challenges is inspiring.

I'll leave you with my favorite bit of Lynx related sunshine in the form of a Baby Maya picture. It is when Maya Leigh met Maya Moore.

Whose house? OUR HOUSE. Let's Go Lynx!

Timehop Tuesday

It's the kind of week where you just want to crawl in bed with your family and just snuggle and stay there. But instead we have had school and work. And when we are home we have had dance parties and gone out to dinner and snuggled up the wazoo. It seems doing normal things and spending quality time is all we can do right now. And for that, I'm grateful.

Here are a couple Timehops.

First up, when we flew to Denver last week I was reminded how easy it is to fly with an almost 8-year-old. Three years ago I flew with a 1.5-year-old and it wasn't that fun.

Speaking of that 1.5-year-old, she is now 4 and just as cute when she is hanging out in a bed. It was easier to contain her back then, however...

Time for bath time and then more snuggles.
