Kona

I haven't talked much about Kona, but her life has changed dramatically too. Not only has this little thing come into her life sucking up a lot of Mom and Dad's attention, but now this little thing LOVES her, and Kona isn't sure that is cool yet. Especially now...her little sister has a fever, and the only prescription is more KONA.

Kona is a master tolerator. (I think I just made up that word.)

And to top it off, we got some furniture from my parents for our living room, so Kona no longer has her throne to look out on the world. Some of you may remember seeing her like this:

When "her" couch was moved out, she was pretty concerned and looked like this:

Somehow, I think she'll be okay with the new stuff:

We love our Kona Hope!

Hangin Out

We got a Jenny Jump Up!

Clearly she hasn't figured out jumping, but doesn't seem to mind hanging anyway. :)

I tried rice cereal again yesterday afternoon and she POUNDED IT DOWN. I only mixed up half of the package at first and it was like I couldn't feed her fast enough. So once that was done I mixed up the rest and she ate that too! I haven't noticed any issues with digestion or anything, so we'll be adding a rice cereal meal to her daily diet! Here is a funny series of eating pictures:

Have a great weekend!

Rice Cereal!

Dave and Cherilyn were over tonight and we noticed how interested Callie was in us eating our Dairy Queen treats...she was just STARING as we ate each bite. She has been pretty interested in our food for awhile, so we decided tonight was the night to try some rice cereal (heavily diluted with breast milk)! It was pretty awesome. I think she's going to be a good eater like me. (And by good eater, I mean that I can pound down a foot-long Subway sandwich or a whole frozen pizza without blinking an eye). I hope she's a better eater than me in terms of enjoying fruits and vegetables instead of lots of cheese. Anyway...she rocked the rice cereal. :)

We got two videos too, of course! Dave filmed the very first tastes of the cereal and then later on when she was chowing down (on the cereal AND the spoon!).

Bye bye 3420...Hello 701!

This has been a big weekend. We spent the majority of it helping my parents move from our family home of 25 years into a condo downtown. Our good family friends the Suurmeyers were in town to help as well. It is a very strange feeling for all of us I think...but the condo is absolutely fantastic and we'll really enjoy going there! Here are a few pictures of it:

Some champagne to celebrate!

Callie and Kona had fun hanging out there yesterday and today:

And Callie had fun talking to the dogs and continuing to be a little spaz:

After a busy day there, we stopped back at the house to pick up a car and say a final goodbye. And I couldn't help but have Chris take my picture...look at that sunset!

New discoveries

The past couple of weeks have been fantastic because we have been able to see Callie learn and notice so many things! For example, she has discovered her feet:

And today Bob took a video on his phone (the quality isn't that great, but you get the general idea) of Callie "feeding" herself with the bottle He said she just grabbed it and held it herself.

It is just the BEST feeling in the world to see her grow!

The long weekend is here and I'm thrilled to have 4 days off! The big news of the weekend is my parents are moving, so we'll be busy. It is going to be very strange to say goodbye to the house I grew up in, but as the mug that my mom got me for Christmas says, "Home is where your Mom is" (and Dad too!). I'm excited about their condo and and happy for them that everything worked out (finally!). We visited the condo the other night, so here is Callie playing on the floor:

I can't wait to see it finished and furnished. It is going to be beautiful and a great home for MorMor and Bops!

After work I decided to finally break out the jogging stroller and give it a whirl. It is a "cross training" day on my training schedule so I had the flexibility to do a run/walk if I needed to. And boy did I need to. It is HARD running pushing a 15+ pounder in a big stroller without being able to move my arms! It is something I'll have to get used to. But the plus side is, it will make just regular running seem to be a breeze!

Tonight Auntie Cathleen stopped by and we hung out outside in the beautiful early evening weather:

Finally, I've been fighting the nighttime battle (for an hour and a half) of this:

A lot of energy to get out of a little body before succumbing to the sleeps...

And finally, with a little help from Daddy, she looks like this:

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend everybody!

Baby Date!

Callie and I went over to see Kylie and Calvin for a baby pool play date! It was so fun watching the babies hang out...I'll let the pictures show the fun:

It made me sooooooooooo excited for summer break!!!

Kylie and I talked about how we CAN'T BELIEVE the babies are 5 and 6 months old! When did that happen?????
