It has been so fun watching Callie grow and start really looking at things in the world. She will just stare SO intently at the most random things! She's a real baby now...no more newborn! :) She's also eating a lot and growing like a weed!
Here is a couple of pictures from the past couple of days:
Yesterday my mom and I went to the Mall of America to walk and shop. MorMor had fun getting baby clothes!!! One of our favorite new outfits fits her nickname "Little Big Cheeks"!
She has been really active and squirmy today...so of course I took a video. :)
I know I already posted today but I have more adorable pictures and video to share from tonight!
We went out to eat at a local restaurant (Highland Cafe...yum!) with my parents for dinner tonight! Once again, Callie slept the whole time. I'm getting good at timing her feedings so that she's full right before we leave so she sleeps. Plus the car ride puts her to sleep.
Tonight Chris was able to get her to smile...a lot! He tickled her belly and she was smiling like crazy. It was ADORABLE. I got some good pictures and took a video towards the end of her tolerance of Chris tickling her. :)
Callie is 1 month and 1 day old today! I missed blogging yesterday on her 1-month birthday...ooops!
We put together her baby play gym the other day and she liked laying there and looking at the toys attached to it! It will be fun when she starts reaching out to touch and play with the toys.
This morning she was really alert so I put her on her tummy time mat and she found the little toys attached to that and grabbed them. I took a series of pictures that are adorable:
Then I took a video at the end of tummy time when she started getting kind of mad:
I am just constantly amazed at what a good baby she is. We went with my parents yesterday to look at a condo (their house is for sale and they will be moving downtown Minneapolis) and Callie slept the whole time. Three of my girlfriends came over last night for dinner and a movie and Callie was perfect the whole time- either alert and adorable or asleep and cuddly! She also has a pretty regular sleep schedule at night. After feeding her at about 10:30pm or so she usually sleeps til 2:30am to eat and then not again til 5:30am or so. After that she'll wake up about 8am to eat and will go back to sleep again for an hour or so! So I really don't feel too sleep deprived yet. Once I go back to work it will be a different story since I won't have the luxury to sleep until 9! We are SO lucky because I know that not all babies are like her.
We will be taking it easy this weekend...it will be nice to have Chris home for a couple of days. He and Callie are hanging out watching Gopher basketball right now. :)
We have had a busy couple of days! Last night Chris and I went to the first half of the Timberwolves game while my parents babysat Callie and Kona! It went well. :) It is a little nerve wracking leaving her knowing that I'm the only one who can calm her down if she gets fussy (because she only really gets fussy when she is hungry- we are lucky!). But my parents said she was great.
Today Callie and I met my friend Kylie and her 8-week-old Calvin at the Mall of America for lunch and walking (and a little bit of baby clothes shopping!). It was so nice to get out of the house and move! We figure we walked about 3.5 miles. And it was the first time using our full travel system. It worked great. Callie slept the whole time. Here is a picture of her in the stroller. I couldn't resist taking a picture...lame, I know. :)
And finally a video showcasing crazy eyes, crazy hair (if you look closely you can see a little mohawk) and crazy hands. I realize the videos probably aren't that exciting since it is just her looking around, but since she is still so little that is all she does! So we gotta take what we can get.
