SATURDAY: July 21, 2018
We left last Saturday in the late morning in 3 cars- Chris, Boom, and I dropped off our dogs and headed up together, G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, and Maya headed up together, and Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, and Callie headed up together. After meeting up for lunch, we made it to camp about 4pm!
After unloading all of our stuff into the cabin, our first stop was (OF COURSE) the beach! Then we spent time at the cabin eating, drinking, and enjoying each other's company...and excited for the week to come.
After we put the girls to bed, some of us went fishing. I caught a fish, and despite my complete aversion to the floppy slimy creatures, I held it for a brief moment before throwing it back in.
SUNDAY: July 22, 2018
After waking up and having breakfast, our whole crew got three canoes and paddled to Blueberry Island! Once we were back, Callie and Maya both wanted to paddle, so they each went out on their own with an auntie or uncle to do so for a bit.
We spent the rest of the day hanging out at the cabin, going to dinner, hanging out around camp, and then at the camp sponsored campfire for S'mores.
MONDAY: July 23, 2018
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAYA!
The girls had their first morning of activities with their age group, and Maya's counselors made her that awesome blue birthday crown. After age group, we had our birthday celebration in the cabin.
That morning during age group, Auntie Cat, Auntie Hanna and I went paddle boarding!
That afternoon a few of us spent some time at the beach with the birthday girl. She was hilarious in her goggles.

Before dinner, we spent time hanging out and playing with Maya's new presents, being goofy, and playing the new board game that Callie and Pa created. Spoiler alert, winners get timed 1:00 minute hugs from Callie.
We had dinner at the dining hall and dessert was carrot cake (which was my dad's favorite dessert). In the video that you'll see later of us around camp, you'll see how camp celebrates birthdays at dinner. It's pretty special. After dinner we had our own family campfire, including some yoga poses.
TUESDAY: July 24, 2018
Hanna and I tried Paddle Board Yoga during age group that morning. It was A BLAST (thanks to Boom for being our photographer).

The boys spent the afternoon and evening golfing, so after lunch the girls all headed out for a hike (little did we know Maya had already done a hike in age group that day...).
We all earned some ice cream and beach time after the hike. And then some quiet time in the cabin.
The boys got home after bed time and we played a rousing game of team Skip-Bo.
WEDNESDAY: July 26, 2018
It was a cool morning, so Hanna, Boom, G-ma and I got a little bundled up and spent time reading at Siam Point.
Later in the afternoon, a bunch of us took out a rowboat and went fishing.
Then the girls went to kids sauna (saunas at camp are THE BEST...a few of us adults did adult saunas too, but at 10pm it is too dark for photos).

THURSDAY: July 27, 2018
The adult girls drove up to Ely for the morning. We did some shopping and ate at Gator's Grilled Cheese Emporium. I had grilled Mac and cheese IN A SANDWICH, which if you know me, you know that is my idea of heaven. It was another chilly day so Auntie Cat made us a fire in the cabin. Then we watched a triathlon at the beach and went to the camp auction. The girls were VERY excited that we won a basket of goodies.

FRIDAY: July 27, 2018
As you saw earlier, Hanna, Cal and I got up every morning for the 7:45am Polar Bear swim. A group of campers sang or yelled a chant and then raced into the water. Because we did it each day, we were "given the opportunity to purchase" the Polar Bear Club t-shirts. Ha!
There was a cookout for lunch, where Callie spent time hanging out with her new friend from age group, Clara. They each spent a couple of hours at each other's cabins this week too. She was really excited about making a new friend. That afternoon was the counselor hunt, and Callie found a couple different counselors and dragged them to counselor jail, before they all ended up being thrown in the lake. Uncle Dan got thrown in the lake too, since he used to be a a counselor and program director.
Then we ate our last dinner in the dining hall and went to closing celebration, where the girls each performed a skit with their age groups.
Camp Du Nord has always been a special place for the Gosselin family, and I'm so glad it has now turned into a special place for our girls too.
We are VERY grateful for our family and the opportunity to take yearly vacations all together. They help make meals and play games and do bedtime for the girls and make Chris and I feel like we can be "off the clock" and relax. They are amazing and wonderful and I absolutely love watching how much they love our girls. We are all SO lucky to have each other.

Whew! Thanks for making it all the way to the bottom of the MEGA POST. I'm impressed! And just feeling very grateful (which goes right along with my souvenir from Ely).
