Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!  We had an EXCELLENT weekend, filled with family outings with family from both the Henderson and Ekeberg sides!

On Friday night Chris and I met Uncle Jim and Aunt Coco for a patio dinner at the Monte Carlo downtown.  It was a lovely dinner and so nice to see them, even at a bit of a distance across the table.

On Saturday we had a deck dinner and play time with Great Margie AND Mari, and Boom and the Lindsays.  It was a blast, and we got lots of baby time and play time and good food and even some porch dancing.

Today we met Peter and Amy at Wabun, along with all the same peeps as last night!  More baby time, more auntie time, and it was chilly so it felt like fall!

And of course we had to get this ADORABLE new pic of the girls.  Melt. My. Heart.

Tonight Callie discovered an anime filter on Snapchat so we all became cartoons!

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a pretty relaxing weekend!  Yesterday morning I went for a run around 7am and it was beautiful.  I have been so used to running much earlier than that in the dark in a boring parking lot, so actually seeing nature was so nice.

Yesterday afternoon we went over to see Auntie Yoda, Lucy, Mila and Boom!  We walked to the park and ordered pizza.  Mila got to eat actual food too...and Lucy got some chocolate cake stuck in her teeth. :)

This morning I made some potato corn chowder soup to eat for lunches this week.  Maya and I hung out while Chris took Callie to the driving range.

Then later G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna and Mitchell came over.  But I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures, so I got G-ma and the girls in the hammock and Mitchell trying a pickle (see video below).

We had some snuggle time and now it is time to mentally prepare for another week.

A Picture Update

We made it through our first full 5 day week of the school year!  On Monday the girls just did their thing and I did my thing and Chris did his thing and we all came together in the late afternoon for some driveway dancing.  

On Tuesday there was schooling and working and also puzzling and cut dog watching and Dancing With the Stars craziness!

On Wednesday and Thursday the girls had school with G-ma and Pa and did fun projects and had homework help with a certain doggie.

Friday was Boom School and they worked hard and played hard and performed music with an autoharp and little guitar!

We found out tonight that Ruth Bader Ginsburg died, and I'll admit it hit me pretty hard.  Harder than I would have expected. When I told Callie, she said "but she did 20 pushups every day!"  I'm grateful for books like "Rebel Girls" that Callie loves and teaches her about badass women throughout history and present day.  But I'm currently heartbroken right now for the country and the loss of her on the Supreme Court. And so very grateful for her service to our country.
