Weekend Wrap-Up: The Late Edition

I know, I know.  I'm late on the weekend wrap-up.  I've already been reminded of this by my mom. :)

But, technically, since I have today off, my weekend is over yet.

First off, congrats to my cousin Andy, his wife Beth and their little boy Donald.  They added another boy to their family on Saturday- Frederic William.  Congrats!  Can't wait to meet the little one!

We have had a nice weekend...it started out with date night for me and Chris while Callie spent Friday night at G-ma and G-pa's house.  It was a "girls' night" because Chris' cousins Arieanna and Annelise spent the night as well.  Callie had a blast!

Saturday

After lunch with the girls and nap time, we spent the evening at the condo.  In a fairy dress.

We took it easy...hung around the house mostly.  Got a little artistic.  Practiced being a big sister.  The usual.

Favorite-Things-Phone-Dump Friday

Happy Friday!

The only picture I took this week besides the Valentine's picture, was a baby bump picture.

I took a baby bump picture because I feel huge.  Already.  At 17 weeks.

Holy cow 2nd pregnancies make everything pop sooner than the 1st ones. 

But regardless of how large I feel, it is my favorite thing.  It means that Hamsie is growing and thriving and my body is doing what it is supposed to be doing. 

I had a check-up on Wednesday and all is good.  Heartbeat is 140 bpm (last month it was 150, is there any significance to that?) and my doc predicts a boy, though she says she's only 50/50 with her predictions being right.

Callie made it abundantly clear to me the other day that she DOES NOT want a brother and that Hamsie is most definitely a girl.

We find out who is right on March 5th.

The baby's due date has been confirmed for July 21st.

So if you have any predictions for gender (or birth date and birth time) send them our way.  We made a spreadsheet of predictions the first time around and it was really fun.

After returning home from a successful Mall of America trip, including the purchase of a "Tangled" toy set for Valentine's day.

Me: Okay, Mommy has to go potty, but do you want me to come down and open your toys first?
Callie: (with a very concerned face) Are you going to stay dry, Mom?


Clearly she has heard that phrase a lot.

Time QOTD

A conversation like this happens multiple times a day.  She's clearly trying actively to figure out the concept of time.

During bath time tonight.

Me: Okay Callie, in 2 minutes we're going to wash your hair.
Callie: What number is it?
Me: You mean, what time is it?
Callie: Yeah, what time is it?
Me: 5:03.
Callie: What time is washing my hair?
Me: 5:05.
Callie: (pausing a second) Is it 5:05 yet?
Me: Nope.
Callie: (pausing a second) Is it 5:05 yet?
Me: Nope.
Callie: (pausing three seconds) Is it 5:05 yet?

And so on...

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a fun weekend!  Things are going much better in the potty training department (i.e. tonight at dinner (out of the blue) she told us she had to go potty, we made it to the bathroom and she went with no accident!).  Victory!

We had playtime and lunch at Boom and Bops' house.

On Saturday evening Callie hung out with Auntie Cat and G-pa while Chris and I went out to eat with our college crew.  It was a fun night for all!  Callie was excited that she got to hang out without us.  She made sure to tell us we had to leave as soon as we got there to drop her off.  Once again, we feel so loved...

Sunday

We went to church today and the Sunday School classes sang a song during the service.  Well, Callie stood up in the front and watched while other kids sang.

After church we had lunch with Jenna, Charlie and Mabel.

After nap time, Callie went outside in the snow and played with Dan and Anna.  I was barely allowed to take pictures ("Don't come, Mom!"), but I snuck a few anyway.

Hamsie update- he/she is currently 17 weeks along.  As for size- he/she is around 5 inches long and 5 ounces.  I have an appointment on Wednesday and I think we'll be able to schedule an ultrasound sometime in the next couple of weeks to find out if Hamsie is a he or a she!  Can't wait til we know for sure!

Favorite-Things-Phone-Dump Friday

Another week both dragged on and flew by simultaneously.  Not sure how that works but I can't believe it is already Friday, and Monday seems like SO LONG ago.

I wasn't at all stellar at taking pictures this week again, but here's what I got:

Favorite Thing #1: After not having many groceries for most of the week, we finally all had enough energy to brave the store.  And Callie is wearing the second dress she earned on her potty chart.  Yay!

Favorite Thing #2: How do we beat the winter blahs?  By painting our nails and toes of course!  And it is fun to represent all the favorite colors- purple, silver and pink!

That is all.  I will no doubt be asleep on the couch in about 20 minutes...hope you all have a more exciting Friday night than mine will be! :)
