A Picture Update

It’s Christmas Eve morning and I’m bringing you the picture update a little early. Here are the pics from the week so far… 

Monday/Tuesday: a beautiful sunrise run, bus stop duty, Luna and Survivor snuggling.

Wednesday: Callie’s birthday… Presents opened by 8am, a surprise morning swim, Annie! at Children’s Theater, Punch Pizza and Survivor, and cupcakes!

Thursday: a chill morning and birthday party #3!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! We had a lovely little weekend. Yesterday was very chill…hanging at home a bit of time in the snow.

This morning I went for a run and enjoyed the pretty sky. And of course, Luna was cute.

Callie and Boom went to see The Christmas Carol at the Guthrie this afternoon!

Abd then we celebrated her birthday early with Boom, Auntie Yoda. Uncle Craigles, Lucy and Mila. We had fun playing Telestrations and hanging out. 

Then Callie got some pretty fun gifts. 

The sunset was beautiful.

And then we had breakfast for dinner, which includes cinnamon roll cake…with 7+5 candles adding up to 12!

We ended the evening watching a bit of Sound if Music and Mila was entranced!

It’s a big week for us and we are ready for it! Lots of love to all. 

A Picture Update

Well, it has been quite the week.  I didn't take too many pictures, but there was goofy Maya, weird December weather, our pretty tree and WINTER BREAK (for me).

Today was my first day of winter break.  I went on a chilly run and got myself some new shoes.

My plans for the day changed a bit after Callie called me from school around 11am asking to be picked up.  If you have paid attention to the news, you may have heard about a national threat made on social media about violence in school today.  We had gotten an email from the district addressing it and stating that there were no credible threats targeting any schools.  But kids talk (and write scary things on bathroom stalls) and word spreads and she was really nervous and uncomfortable being at school.  So I picked her up and we had a relaxed afternoon at home.  I don't know how to navigate these conversations very well, but I put my special ed teacher training to use and just tried to listen and help her process and validate her feelings while also reminding her that all the adults at school are there to keep her safe. 

Thankfully, we had tickets to the MN Zoo Drive-Thru Light Show, so we did that tonight as a fun family outing.

Timehop Tuesday

Two years ago this past weekend Chris and I were in NYC. It feels like a million years ago. 

In September we got to go back and attend the same show. It was a totally different experience.

What a wild ride the past 2 years has been. I often wonder what the long term effects will be on all of us.
