Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey everybody!  Somehow it is already Sunday night.  It was an emotional and exciting weekend, and I'm tired and drained and relieved.  

First up- I finished another puzzle on Friday night!

Then on Saturday morning I knocked out 5 miles.  It was the longest I have run in a couple months, so I was glad to prove to myself I still could.  

Later that morning Biden and Harris' win was officially called.  I was excited and emotional.  Callie made signs and our previously scheduled deck dinner with Boom, Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles, Lucy and Mila (we got one more in this year!!!) became a celebration.

And since it is November, it gets dark by 5pm.  But it didn't stop us from having a glow stick dance party and looking at Saturn in the telescope.

We tried to have the girls stay up to watch the speeches, but it got too late for them.  So Chris and I ended up watching after they went to bed and then I had a virtual happy hour celebration with Jenna and Bethany.

This morning I tried to have them watch Kamala's speech, but they didn't last too long.  The beautiful day outdoors was calling them.  I'll have to try again. We also walked up to the park with the neighbor boys.

This afternoon we continued enjoying what likely will be our last nice day with a hike with G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and the doggies!

It is SO FUN to get the cousins together.  Always! And we are so excited for another one to be added to this cute trio this spring!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday on what feels like the longest, most emotionally tense week in a year of emotionally tense weeks.  But we made it to Friday and the weather is 70s and sunny, which is ridiculous and much needed a few weeks after a couple huge snowstorms.  Thanks Minnesota weather!

Anyway...here are some highlights.

Monday: post-shower reading and comfort-watching Hamilton for the bazillionth time

Tuesday: Election Day.  I sported my Biden Harris shirt and felt like I was going to vomit all day.  The girls did their part in being good and positive distractions, as did Luna.

Wednesday: fun at G-ma and Pa's with Auntie Cat, stress drinking multiple things at once during the day (none of them alcoholic, though I wished they were) and anxiously awaiting any kind of news or result while finding humor on twitter (TITANIC!!)

Thursday: still waiting, legos and puzzles, more memes

Friday: grateful I took the day off...

I have spent a lot of time today extremely grateful for the amazing people like Stacey Abrams who worked and inspired so many people across the country to get out and vote.  Their impact will be felt for generations to come.

Timehop Tuesday

It’s Election Day and I’m trying not to freak out. Here are my current pre-6am Election Day vibes.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Well guys, I had this set to post on DECEMBER 1st instead of NOVEMBER 1st. So pretend like you read this last night! 

Happy Sunday! We had a fun Halloween weekend, all things considered! I finished up my 60 miles in October yesterday morning with a pretty view of the sunrise.

My November challenge is training for a virtual 10K that I’ll do at the end of the month! 

After dance class, we met Boom for a very chilly and windy outdoor picnic. Then Maya the Mermaid took Luna for a little run in the field.


We stopped by to trick-or-treat at G-ma and Pams house yesterday afternoon, and ended up getting a little more trick-or-treating in their neighborhood since the neighbors had lots of treats sitting out on tables and stoops!

While the sun was setting, we put out candy on our front stoop and headed down to the basement for a Halloween movie (The Witches) that we ended up turning off (a bit too scary, despite the PG rating) to watch Cake Wars instead. 

This morning Luna and I enjoyed another sunrise, and then later we cuddled up and watched one of my favorite childhood movies, Hello Dolly.

This afternoon we headed to Boom’s with Auntie Yoda, Lucy and Mila so the girls could play in their costumes one more time. 

And there was a Frozen dance party.

The week ahead is a big one. If you haven’t voted, make sure you do so! Every vote matters. Due to the increasing Covid numbers, I am starting to work at home full time (instead of going to school a few times a week) and I’m grateful to have that option.

Halloween 2020

Well, this Halloween is a bit (a lot) roiled with underlying anxiety, panic and doom. However, we are rolling with it! Isn’t that a positive outlook???? 

As you know, I take these funny little holidays as an opportunity to go back in time. So here are the past 11 years of BABYGOOSE HALLOWEEN. I included pictures of those we celebrated with each year, as well. Some years pictures were a plenty. Other years we may have been in survival mode (i.e. Maya’s first Halloween!). Enjoy!

And today! We have a Huntress, a Mermaid, and a MAD DONUT.
