Weekend Wrap-Up

It’s. Almost. Summer. Vacation.

This weekend was pretty relaxed, which is good because the next week is going to be coo-coo-bananas-crazy-town.

These are the only pictures I took yesterday:

There was some downtown time and play outside time (including kickball with our neighbor Neal!).

Today the girls and I went to get pedicures so we can have pretty toes.

We watched the Lynx game (cuddled up on our bed) and it did not go well. Our team is struggling this season...but I have faith that they’ll figure it out!

Then we had to play outside a little. Chris took Callie to hit golf balls.

And Maya was inspired to play basketball. At one point after she made a basket she yelled “I’m like Maya Moore!” I love that the girls have such strong athlete role models to look up to.

This is the last week of school for me and Cal. This is the last week of usual day care for Maya at Boom’s, G-ma and Pa’s houses. That means 8.5 years of grandparent child care is coming to an end. We have been so unbelievably lucky that our girls have been taken care of by some of the people who love them most. I will forever be grateful for that. ❤️❤️❤️

This is also the week leading up to DAN AND HANNA’S WEDDING!!!! We have the rehearsal and groom’s dinner on Thursday (also the last day of school!) and then the wedding on Saturday. It is going to be amazing and we are all so excited! It is also the first wedding that all four of us are in: Chris is a groomsman, I’m a bridesmaid, and the girls are flower girls. Look forward to some fancy family photos! And beautiful wedding photos! I know I am!

A Picture Update: Happy Birthday Dad

My dad would have been 63 today. 

I’m grateful that he is my dad every day. And I miss him every day.

As for our week, Maya and I had some time together during Callie’s dance class. I took this pic after she tooted really loud in the quiet eating area of the co-op.

We both couldn’t stop giggling!

We hung out with some Junghans cousins on Thursday evening at G-ma and Pa’s house.

I got an “award” at work from a couple of my co-workers, which explains my school year in a nutshell.

Maya spent today with Boom and they had a great time.

Tonight I went to the Lynx game with my mom and we had a fun night (and got to see Lucy and Yoda beforehand!)

Four more days of the school year, guys. Plus a work day. A week from now it will be summer vacation. I can’t believe it. And I can’t wait.

Hair and Humidity

Hi guys.

This is just a random post to say I feel like my hair looks like this so I took a selfie.

My children did not get my weird curly hair. Theirs is thick and straight and lovely.

But the SNARLS, you guys. And the HAIR BRUSHING RESISTANCE. 

You can bet your bottom dollar that our first week of summer we will all be getting fairly significant haircuts. 

After Dan and Hanna’s wedding, of course, which is in 9 DAYS!!!!!! Can’t wait!!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up: The Memorial Day LUCY Edition

Hi everybody!  We had a super fun and busy weekend with our adorable little 1-year-old houseguest. The weekend was a blur of play time, naps, chasing a toddler around, and trying to embrace/avoid the ridiculous HEAT.

So here are some fun pictures!

This girl always has a smile and loves to play!  And get into mischief... ;)

Maya and Lucy are two peas in a pod.  They have so much fun together, and I love seeing Maya play the "big sister" role with Lucy.

And their bath time? Freaking hilarious!

Callie is such a little mommy to Lucy.  They also love to play and giggle together.

Let's see...other things that happened this weekend: Chris and Callie played with, then LOST, then Chris and Dan recovered...the DRONE.

Lucy went to watch the ballerinas at Maya's dance class.



There was just an overall level of controlled chaos at all times.

Today we kept cool by going to the pharmacy, drinking lots of water, and playing with bubbles outside.

Callie and Maya went on a boat ride with G-ma, Pa, Nana and Papa.

Lucy and I hung out with the Stolles a little bit more.

We hung out with the Johnson cousins tonight.

Overall I had a blast with this little one all weekend!

Wednesday/Thursday!

Thursday evening- Brent, Bethany and Weston came to town and stayed with us. And we got a girls’ night out.

Friday! The last official day of Maya’s Preschool career (she’s doing some days there this summer). She grew so much this year, I can’t stand it. The pic on the left is her first day of school in September and the one on the right is from today.

We have Lucy this weekend and the shenanigans have started! Also...Chris ordered a Star Wars drone “for Callie.” Enjoy the pics and videos!
