Weekend Wrap-Up

How is it still February?!?! Longest shortest month EVER.

Anyway. Here is what Maya and I did yesterday: CLOSET CLEAN OUT!

I filled about 10 bags full of clothes to donate. That feels good.

Last night Callie slept over at G-arms and Pa’s house and Maya had some alone time with mom and dad.

This morning I took Luna for a walk before much was plowed...she was a trooper trouncing around in the snow.

Today after church we went downtown. We pulled out one of Callie and Maya’s toddler toys, and they had a blast playing together with Lucy. The songs and noises were NOT AT ALL ANNOYING. 🤣

Then we went sledding. It was pretty perfect snow.

Of course there are sledding videos. It became clear pretty quickly that Maya had no interest in actually watching her trips down the hill. Ha!

Have a great week!

A Picture Update: 55-Months-Old!

This girl is 55 months old.

I missed posting a month ago for 54-months-old due to snow day craziness. So here we are a month later.  This goofy girl is something else and makes me giggle on a daily basis. I could watch and listen to her play all day long. And then she freaks out and refuses to follow any and all directions and I remember what parenting 4.5-year-olds are like: being on a roller coaster.

Anyway. Monday was a day off and spent with Boom and Lucy!

Getting a good shot of the three of them takes some patience and perseverance.

The only other pictures I have from the week are my photos of the day.

February 19: Toys
February 20: Thankful (for a reason to giggle with matching blue coats)
February 21: Game
February 22: To Do
February 23: Motivation (Mari’s and my mom’s Fitbit pictures before noon got me going a little)

More snow is supposed to come this weekend. I gotta say I’m pretty ready for February (and WINTER) to be over!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! It’s a long weekend and we all have tomorrow off. I’m very thankful for that! As far as our weekend goes, it was pretty relaxed.

Callie got some new tennis shoes. Actual tie ones. And our goal for the weekend was for her to finally learn how to tie them herself. We looked up a YouTube video and she got it down in a few minutes! She is super proud and excited, as you can see from these videos:

The rest of the day included dance class, walking Luna, and a dress up birthday party for Maya to attend (she went as Tinkerbell, and was able to use the Halloween costume that Chris got in September that we lost until after Halloween).

Today we got some good Lucy, Boom and Iris time after church.

Lucy is getting so big- she’s got lots of teeth and crawling all over the place. She loves following her cousins around and going for Iris’ water dish whenever she gets the chance. I got some cute videos, of course.

This afternoon I took the girls and Luna out for a long walk and playtime in the field. It was 44 degrees and felt wonderful!

Here are some Luna and outside playing videos:

We are ending the evening watching bobsledding and speed skating and I’m happy to be snuggling with this one.

Photos of the day for yesterday and today are
February 17: Favorite (my favorite necklace- my dad’s handwriting that says “Love ya”)
February 18: Black and white

Have a great week.

It is a long weekend. And that makes me happy. Here are the pictures from this week!

Wednesday: a failed attempt at a cute Valentine’s picture and Maya’s preschool class!

Thursday: at home with Maya and Luna and a trip to the library!

A date night to the T-wolves game and a tribute to Flip Saunders:

And my photos of the day for this week:

February 13: Love
February 14: Kiss
February 15: Chocolate
February 16: Handwriting

I’ll leave you with a Maya QOTD:

Maya: Did you know that Donald Duck is not a healthy food?
Me and Chris: Um...(exchange glances to see if we can figure out what she is talking about)
Callie: She means McDonalds!

Our kids might be the only 2 kids in America who have never had a Happy Meal. Haha!

Have a great weekend.

Valentine’s Day

I’m struggling today. The news of the school shooting in Florida came after a particularly rough day at work. I work with high schoolers. Many of them have significant mental health challenges. It can be rewarding work, but a lot of the days it is just plain exhausting.

It is hard to describe what it is like sometimes, to people who aren’t aware of what being in the trenches of the education system is like. I’m grateful for amazingly supportive coworkers.

Anyway. It’s a tough day. But I’m thankful for these little stinkers who complied with my request to blow kisses to the camera.

Happy Heart Day.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday morning Callie was up at her usual time (before 7am) despite staying up past 8pm watching the Olympics Opening Ceremony the night before. Maya, on the other hand, slept until almost 9am! Luna snuggled with both of them...no matter the awake time!

We got to see Jim, Coco, Larry and Mary yesterday afternoon. A year ago we were with them all in Mexico. Alas, this year we were here, in a land about 80 degrees colder.

And I got my new favorite picture of the three girls, too. Lucy is always on the move!

The girls slept over at Auntie Cat’s house last night, so I got to sleep in a bit, and didn’t get Luna out on a walk until after 7am (usually it is between 5am and am). So we got to see the sun rise. And I kept getting glimpses of a huge gray chunk of my hair. Luckily it was just frosty from being cold...

Today we got to see our family friends Randy and Lori. They brought over their greyhound, Walter, to meet Iris. And they were adorable. We watched some Olympics with Auntie Yoda and Lucy too.

Last but not least, my pictures of the day for the weekend: February 10- 1 o’clock, February 11- Small (even though the girls often seem so big, they still really are so little still. And I’m grateful for that).

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday everybody.

This week kicked my butt. I don’t have many pictures. Here are the ones I’ve got, mostly of Maya, from throughout the week.

Last night Callie’s school hosted a Family Fun Night.

A coworker went to a rocks and minerals show in Arizona and brought me back these beautiful amethyst treasures.

Aren’t they beautiful?

Chris was in Texas most of the week, so it is great to have him home now.

This doggie has a new nickname: Luna-tic. She sure is sweet but she can be crazy and sassy and can get on your last nerve! But look at how cute she is on her walk. She worked so hard to be in control and not bark at bikes and people.

And I’ll leave you with my photos of the day:

February 5: Kids (the girls were not cooperating that day so I chose a throwback picture)
February 6: Happy
February 7: Create (a student made me a glittery relaxation tool)
February 8: Square
February 9: Front Door

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up: The Super Bowl Edition

Hi all!

To be clear, I could care less about the Super Bowl. But I figure I should at least mention that it is in our hometown, just for history’s sake. And since it is the coldest Super Bowl on record, the chance of it ever coming back here is probably pretty slim.  And while my younger and cooler sisters are taking advantage of all of the downtown craziness by chilling in fur coats in an igloo (true story), here we are at home in our jammies.

Anyway, yesterday’s big event was our little buddy Caleb’s 4th birthday party at a bowling alley!

As you can see, the girls had a blast. And we were in a far away suburb of one of my dear friends, Jillian, who I don’t get to see often. SoI texted her and she stopped by!

Today has been chill. Chilly, actually.

Luna has gotten so spoiled at our house. But she is still a tad bit psycho other places, like the pet store. But we finally got her a name tag!

Anyway. Our plan for the evening is to watch the Puppy Bowl and then the Super Bowl (commercials).

Here are my pictures of the day for February 3rd (Heart) and February 4th (Shadow).

Boom found a baby picture of herself, so I found some baby pictures of the three grand babies (ranging from 2 months to 9 months).

Have a great week!
